Nice way to cool off on a hot sunny day. I stopped in during my visit to Key West for some afternoon cocktails. Our waiter sold us on the 22oz souvenir cups (the cups guarantee you discounted refills) which were totally worth it considering it was 94 degrees and we went back a different day. I got a pina colada and my husband got their monkey slush and added rum to it. I do suggest adding the floaters; (unless you've had a few too many already ) the drinks are a little weak. read more

They get high marks for ambience. The lighted front patio is romantic at night. Our server was attentive, checked with the cook on a special request, and wanted to check on how we felt about our orders. I had to be honest with him - my fish was overdone. Also, what's up with the t-shirts that say "I love serving crazy ladies." What about crazy men? Or crazy children? Tell me there's a better story behind the shirt, and even if there is, can you consider something bland, like have a nice day? I expect to get laughs on this review. I can be just as wry as they are! Hi ! So we are annual visitors of Key West and we always stop by Flying Monkeys for a slushy drink. The drinks we ordered had almost zero alcohol in either of our drinks . I'm well aware of profit margin and willing to pay the premium but this business practice is borderline fraudulent . We will be trying Fat Tuesdays next year... good luck FM! read more

I was skeptical of stopping here to get drinks, as I don't often try to stay away from sugary drinks when drinking alcohol. But these were nicely balanced, and of course very refreshing in that humid tropical heat. The staff was very friendly and helpful with making suggestions with the menu. We ended up getting the $12 souvenir squeeze bottle which was nice to carry around and drink out of as you wish. Refills with that were only $9 which was also nice. However, it's just a plastic squeeze bottle with a Flying Monkeys logo on the cozy. The 16oz souvenir cup looks more worth the price, as I'm guessing that will last longer if you want a souvenir to bring home. But the squeeze bottles did the trick and we kept coming back to get those refills. This is a place I would strongly recommend! read more

They even have a few recommendations. I got the mudslide. It was sooooooooooo good. It was sweet and rich. Tasted like a boozy milkshake. My husband got the pina colada and grape one. They were both good and made you feel like you were on vacation. They have a walk-up bar where you can stand and drink on the go. However, you can sit at the bar by entering through the restaurant. Cool place to catch a much needed drink located right on Duval Street. We were getting a bite to eat at the restaurant that is connected next door Fogarty's. Well Fogarty's is one thing ie look for that review for more details. So as our meal ended I got a frozen drink to go. Wished I just walked over here and got it myself as our waitress who was a bit clueless didn't even properly up sale me and offer one of their cool containers. When she brought me the drink I asked than she tells me oh yeah if you get the larger drink refills are discounted. She is a bit nuts as it was a very hot day and who couldn't use a bigger drink. Especially since I wasn't drunk you would think I am obviously a tourist and this is one of the many reasons to come to Duval street. Anyway back to Flying Monkeys great name and the design on my cup looked like the monkeys that flew in the Wizard of Oz. Very cute clean bar and more importantly the drink was delicious. Hands down best was The dirty Monkey, followed by Banana Breeze, the Grainorade, Piña Colada, Pain in the Ass and then Rum Runner. Can't wait to try the others on future visits! Had dinner at Fogarty's (which is the attached restaurant) one night with a group of 7. Things we tried that were fantastic included The Sliders, Mahi-Mahi Bites, Peppered Ahi Tuna, Bruschetta, Tex-Amex Rolls and the Crusted Chicken Romano. The Cuban Pork bowl was also l good, but the most flavorful thing in that dish was probably the 2 small slices of plantains. I don't necessarily regret getting the Cuban Pork Bowl, but I would not get it again on vacation, if you have limited nights here take a chance on one of the other menu items. read more

Here, I chose the drink affectionately known as the grain train. I'm told that the grain train is made with 3 different grain alcohols...nice and strong. Stopped in to this place to get an escape from the blistering heat and was so happy that I did! They have a whole wall (literally) of flavors and I got the frozen strawberry margarita. It comes in a 16oz cup (but there is a bigger size as well for those who want even more). I was pleasantly surprised that I really couldn't taste the alcohol in it (which is how I like my frozen concoctions) and it was the perfect drink to pair with a walk down Duval street. It was also reasonably priced at $8. The only downside is that there were some people smoking outside when we stepped up and until I got my drink, it was a bit hard to escape the smell.
