A $2 16 oz Americano!!!!! Wow!!! This is my go to coffee drink. I wish I could order something else but I just want good strong coffee. Wait a minute Fluid. What is this I see? Artisan coffee made in a french press. Impressive. And delicious. The only problem is I have to decide now. The ambiance of this coffee shop is relaxing. It's quiet with most people working on their laptops (free WiFi) or chatting in a low voice. The couches and chairs are comfortable (but wish there were more to go around) and the employees are always super nice. There does seem to be a bit of clutter on the magnetic wall next to the register but at least they take the posters down after the date has passed. Thanks for the great, inexpensive coffee! read more

I'm a fan of Fluid. It's a place where I can get cozy for a few hours and get some work done without being distracted by the music or the crowd. And there is usually both, but it doesn't drive me nutso here. It has a business feel on one side with tables and computers, and a loungey feel on the other with comfy couches and chairs, books, games (and an ATM, just in case you need one.) Great coffee and chai, and a small selection of baked goods, quiche and breakfast burritos - although I'm not a fan of the burritos. I felt like I had accidentally ordered some kind of vegan option, because the eggs seemed like faux eggs in consistency. Although they do get bonus points for serving salsa and not charging extra like a lot of coffee shops do. Even when slammed the staff is friendly and chill, qualities I can appreciate when I'm getting caffeinated. I think I will find myself here pretty frequently in the future. read more

One of my top 3 coffee bars. Comfortable seating, with a few different options. Their drinks are great and the music isn't over-powering. Think modern coffe shop that maintains the ecclectic feel. read more

This is a neat little place to bring your laptop and access their free Wi-Fi (with a purchase of a drink). They have plenty of electric outlets for old ogre laptops like mine that only have a battery life of 5 minutes. For someone who frequents different coffee shops, I'm a little disappointed in their short menu of drinks though. Their standard coffees are little strong (not a bad thing), and for their flavored coffee drinks, I like the Heavenly Sin (white chocolate mocha with hazelnut) or the chai latte. What I'm most impressed by is their wireless printing -- you send a command from your laptop, and a wireless printer across the room just KNOWS to spit out your document. I think that's pretty amazing, until I talked to my techie friends and was told that that's not a big deal. Well, I'm not tech-savvy, and get impressed by wireless things, okay? This is coming from someone who still owns a laptop with a battery life of 5 minutes. 1 star off: their baristas are not tech-savvy either, so they would not be able to help you if your computer has trouble connecting to their Wi-Fi read more

My first time here due to Yelper Ratings! You guys know your coffee brews and lattes' . The latte I ordered was spot on perfect! Terrific flavor and the foam---- Oh the FOAM! So soft, smooth, and oh so foamidable! If their Lattes' were something you smoked, they would be listed in High Times magazine! "What do you want? Good grammer or good taste?!" I also bought a cinnamon twist to dunk -- (yes, I'm a dunker---lol) and boy did that hit the spot on a chilly day here in Denver. I would give this place five stars, but they need to work on the cleanliness of the tables and such....So a Strong Four Stars for taste! read more

I'm going to go out a limb here and say that Fluid may have the best coffee shop breakfast burrito in town. They have both Udis and Burrito Del Mar and I go for Del Mar, the vegetarian green chile variety in particular. What makes this already awesome burrito stand out is that they grill it in a panini press so that the exterior is crispy. The whole spead they have for food is actually quite amazing. In addition to burritos, they have a solid assortment of pastries/muffins, Udis breakfast sandwiches, Breggos, and quiche. Most other places will have JUST breakfast burritos and pastries and if you get there late, you have to resort to a dried out bagel (usually in the raisin variety because nobody likes those). And coffee? Oh, yes, coffee! Consistently well done. They're also not offenders in the "add way too much syrup to a flavored latte in an effort to drown out the crappy taste of poorly drawn espresso" arena. I don't feel like I'm taking a gamble when I order a latte here. It will be pretty good to amazing. Service is very middle of the road as far as a coffee shop in Denver goes. Not nearly as surly as Europa, but certainly not as friendly as Rooster and Moon. But not bad. This place can be packed on weekends, so be sure to factor in some wait time. Weekday mornings are not terrible and definitely worth my route to work deviation to get a grilled and melty burrito and reliably tasty latte. read more

What a bad first experience at this place. It's 3 blocks from my office and all the reviews made me think it was worth a shot. There were 4 employees behind the counter when I walked in and no other customers, but the employees were so wrapped up in a personal conversation, that I wasn't even acknowledged. The guy taking the order just stared at me, and when I started to say what I wanted, turned around to finish talking to one of the other guys working. He didn't tell me my total just stuck out his hand for payment. And he watched me put a dollar in the tip job (a habit I might need to break now) and didn't smile, say thank you or acknowledge that in anyway. The woman who set my coffee on the counter gave me a little smile before going back to their conversation. Not very welcoming and mediocre coffee. I've never said this before but next time, I'm just going to Starbucks. read more

There's a lot to take in when walking into Fluid. The space is full; with people, with laptops, with stuff on the shelves, walls, post board, and espresso machine. Most importantly to me, the place is full of employees who passionately know and love the coffee they serve. I'm happy to bike the extra distance past other shops to pay Fluid a visit. First and foremost for me, Fluid serves great coffee. They have the skills and equipment it takes to brew the Novo Coffee they serve extremely well. They are one of the only places in town I have always gotten a good shot of espresso. Their selection is great, carrying more coffees than the Novo shop in the Denver Art Museum. Plus, they have a Clover machine, brewing my cup of coffee for me and me alone. Fluid is helping to bring coffee culture to Denver. The second big factor for me is their sense of community. The baristas are friendly and engaging (about you, them, coffee, and from conversations I've overheard, World of Warcraft). They host coffee tastings and activity nights. There are bookshelves to check out and a community post board. They provide wifi, ethernet jacks, in-house computers, printer, and fax to their customers. Very handy when your taxes are due. The space is well divided, giving customers their own space, while all being tied to the central counter. The decor is a bit erratic, but not distractingly so. Noise is usually a low hum under the music, punctuated by your normal barista noises (on repeat visits, the music can get a bit repetitive). They have a large assortment of drinks and food, and seem to meet their clientele's needs well (me, I stick to coffee, espresso, juice and biscotti). They keep to fairly standard coffeeshop offerings (bagels, sandwiches, salads, smoothies) some of which are local. There are quite a few displays touting the qualities of their products, which, while I love information, is sometimes a bit overwhelming. It's obvious to me that Fluid is saturated with a great deal of thought, time and effort by the management and staff; the focus they have on the coffee will keep bringing me in. read more

I'm feeling too lazy to write complete sentences right now, so here's a list. Reasons to go to Fluid: 1. it's independent. 2. really good coffee. 3. free wifi. (!!) 4. extra computers in case your Lappy 486 isn't cooperating. 5. awesome, knowledgeable staff with a genuine love of coffee. 6. it's quiet. 7. cozy atmosphere. lots of comfy seating. 8. prepackaged sammiches and salads from chedd's, in addition to other tasty snacklike things. 9. excellent wine store next door for when you get ready to go home. 10. convenient location. read more

Great coffee - not in love with the staff. I brought my own sugar packet as they don't carry this type. I asked if they could add my packet to the drink and they were like "ummmm, let me ask" ... I was like "ummm, so your questioning if you can make my americano the way I like it???"... This place is convenient to my house but I truly question if I should go back if I can't have my simple drink made how I like it being that I am the paying customer. read more

This place would get a 4 if I have never stayed and only popped in, got a coffee and left. But now since I have stayed an hour, it loses a star due to its atmosphere. I have gotten lattes and drip coffees, both really good, better than other coffee shops. Recently I got a soy chai, most recent craving. But I ordered in and spent some time on their wifi. Boy was it loud. Loud girls talking about their dates. The music in the main room was loud. The meeting room was full so I couldn't go in there. The lighting was very dim on a Sunday evening. If you want to work, try and get a seat in the back room. Otherwise this is more of a chill and talk with your friend coffee shop. The soy chai was fantastic though. Not too sweet. And the barista was super nice. Wifi was solid, no loss of connection. read more

This is a quaint little local coffee bar. They rock local artists. Two thumbs up. Great location and sweet treats. Great place to secure a single spot to do your wi-fi thing. read more

Though I don't go to Fluid very often, I always enjoy it when I do. Pretty much everyone except for us was there to wifi solo, mostly studying, I think. My coconut mocha latte was just jolly. Definitely provided the evening pick-me-up that I was needing. It was a long busy day. It is fun to sit on one of the couches and talk (softly, to not disturb the study-ers on their laptops) in this visually harmonic environment. Also, I can't think of anywhere else that has a matte latte on their menu... read more

Best Chai + Coolest glassware = new fav. I just wish I lived closer. This place is great. The prices are more reasonable than *$ and I enjoy their chai and coffee. I like sitting there and hanging out (and getting to use reusable glassware). I have had a few meetings there now and it makes for a nice place to meet. I will say that there are a few "lingerers" who park in their chairs for hours on end... But other than that, awesome! Oh wait, did I mention? BEST CHAI EVER! read more

Fluid carries Sweet Action ice cream now. Which is great because there isn't a single ice cream shoppe in Uptown. Jeff has invented "The Jeffe" which is an ice cream sandwich made with peach ice cream on a croissant and heated on the panini grill. Its messy and butterly delicious. Breaking News! if you prepay for your coffee you get a 20% bonus. This is huge for me since Fluid Coffee is one of my largest living expenses. read more

If I lived in Denver, this would be my spot. 100%. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, having made a great recommendation that I try the "Anyetsu" naturally-processed, single-origin Ethiopian roast... Incredible. Come here and enjoy a coffee. The space & vibe are just lovely. read more

Coffee is pretty darned tasty, quick, friendly service. I had the cafe au lait with SF caramel and bought a refill of regular coffee (Ethiopian blend) both were very good. WiFi is reliable and quick, atmosphere is chill and laid back. Haven't run into any real snobs here. Lots of outlets for those with laptops, lots of seating. WiFi is free with purchase...so if you're a WiFi pirate, be prepared to buy something! Definitely earned a re-visit in the future! *thumbs up* read more

The coffee - the best. (can you cay Nuvo?). They even make little designs in your cappuccino. The owners - the nicest. Employees - equal in niceness. The venue - always clean, big private bathrooms, available for open mic, nonprofit events and meetings. Artsy and lofty. A great place to find out about all the local events and concerts. They carry lots of papers there that you can read if you are trying to get away from you real life. This is just a great corner to pick up Wine at Above the Rim or drop off your dry cleaning nest door. Computers - lots of them (with printer access) The food - they carry Ched's! Very reasonably priced. Ask for acai (a-sa-hi). Trendy - yep Location - 19th and Penn This is a great place to kick back on a couch and read a book or get your laptop some typing. You can meet your colleague here and meet in the table area. Overall, this is one of the nicest, best well-run coffee shop in Denver. Period read more

Showing up late to work is totally worth it when the cute guy behind the counter makes your AM latte and tops it off with an itsy, bitsy heart.. I met a group there yesterday and enjoyed this spot. They serve Novo coffee and offered 2 different blends. I don't recall the names of the blends available that day, but the more robust one that the barista recommended was great! Their breakfast sandwich selection was prepackaged. A bit off-putting (ummm....7-11?), but heated on the panini grill rather than microwaved and actually pretty tasty. They have a meeting room that was available, so it easily accommodated our group of 6. I'm not certain of the fee to reserve this room, but would be a great idea for meeting a larger group of people or having an informal meeting All in all, a good experience and would definitely pay them another visit sometime. read more

Just a quick update: The coffee shop is still good, but I can't get my laptop to work with their wi-fi system. It's not my laptop - it works everywhere else - so it must have something to do with either their system or the combination of the system and my laptop. Bottom line - test the wi-fi before you buy your coffee. read more

I had this grand idea to try every coffee shop in Denver until I found the best chai latte. This was my first stop and I think I am canceling my challenge. The chai latte is perfection. And with almond milk?! I'm not going to say anything aside from telling you to go try it. Heaven in a cup. I went twice today folks. TWICE. I'm wondering if I should move just to be closer to the chai. read more

The coffee is a little bold for my taste, but many people swear by it. The atmosphere is great, plenty of couches, places to lounge and read. The other side of the cafe also has a handful of tables to sit at to get work done, well thought out floor plan. Overall well priced to, similar to Starbucks and they have premium Novo Coffee. read more

Just moved around the block from this place - AWESOME! I'm not much of a coffee drinker - chai is my forte, and boy do they do their chai VERY WELL!! Cool ambiance; fast and friendly service (I've never waited more than 3 minutes for my order even when the place has been PACKED); amazing prices! Will definitely come back A LOT! read more

We have been looking for another coffee bar, as a sort-of back-up. I think we have found it. Fluid Coffee Bar is in the Uptown area, which is a very nice area. If you haven't been, you need to park, and walk around. Interior - bright, cheery, welcoming, colorful, and clean! Prices - decent, typical for a coffee place Menu - varied, pretty much whatever you are in the mood or need for, including some pastries. There is a room in the back which you can rent, although I'm not in the need for a meeting place right now. Parking - street, which can be a hassle. So, bring a coat, and wear some comfortable shoes, in case you have to walk a block or two. Whenever we have been here, there have always been people/customers, sitting around, surfing the web on their computers, or using one of the computers in the coffee bar. I'm assuming you pay a flat hourly fee, but not sure, so don't quote me on that. A Fluid Coffee Bar is a nice place to just "be," to study, read, visit, watch the world go by, as well as your stress and/or worries, and drink a nice cup of coffee. read more

My favorite coffee shop in Denver, hands-down. I've lived nearby for a year and a half and everyone working there is still there. As a former barista who's witnessed countless employee turnovers in much less time, seeing a constant staff really reflects the quality of a place of business. Beyond their always-friendly, helpful baristas, Fluid offers the best variety of QUALITY drinks -- hot and cold -- and food ranging from cheap snacks to hearty salads and toasted sandwiches. If you've got some time and are in the mood for an espresso drink, order it in a small or medium mug and you'll most likely see a creative design etched into the foam of your delicious coffee (large drinks are served in tall glasses). They also have free wireless and cheap rates on desktop computers and printing, and play a fabulous variety of music -- they're always happy to talk about what's playing, what you like, and introducing you to something new. Saturdays include free coffee-tasting sessions and occasionally some small contests and coffee-related giveaways. It's not as big as St. Mark's or Stella's, but they've got ample seating at tables, couches, and along a built-in counter complete with plenty of outlets throughout the shop. If you're happy with your first experience there, you might as well invest in a prepaid Fluid card -- I think you get something like $5 off for every $25 you spend and/or a free drink for every 10 you buy. I used to spend hours here studying, and although I'm happy those days are over, I get a little nostalgic every time I stop in *just* to get a coffee to go. read more

This is a place I frequent A LOT. Our office is right down the street, so anytime someone wants to get away from their desk, this is the spot we hit. But I don't think I would if it weren't so close I could hit it with my shoe. The service is OK- sometimes the baristas are really warm, but most times it's a pretty impersonal and cold interaction. Their coffees are good- and their matte latte is particularly good- but a matte and a biscotti set me back $7 yesterday. Ooooowwwwww. That's four DVDs at Independent Records! But the owner is a really nice man, and it's a neighborhood hub- so I'll keep going back. read more

Nice, chill place to relax and have a coffee. Very quiet (but not TOO quiet), and a really good atmosphere. Try sitting in one of the comfy couch seats and having a look out the window. People watching and good coffee go good together :) Also really appreciate the awesome drink recommendation for a friend (and myself) who don't drink coffee; a variety of other delicious non-coffee/non-caffeinated drinks are available. read more

I came here with a fellow dental student one day to get some studying done, and this place was just great! I'm a bit of a coffee snob (there you go, I said it!), and this place is seriously the bees knees. I cannot stress enough now delicious the coffee was, and it's all locally-sourced! This place just keeps getting better. The barista was extremely helpful at suggesting a roast to suit my tastes (this particular day I was feeling a roast with some subtle chocolate notes), and even gave me my specialty roast for the cost of their standard drip since it was my first time, which I really appreciated. I absolutely cannot wait to go back! read more

An off-beat, laid-back coffee shop in a residential area just outside the financial district of Denver, Fluid is a great place for casual conversation with a friend or a few hours of computer work. The coffee is really good and baristas are kind and helpful. I especially like reading all the "Yay! (fill in the blank)" magnets by the register. Yay! Coffee, Yay! Local, Yay! Aliens. Those kinds of things. There are lots of outlets, free interwebs, and a mixture of comfy chairs and work tables. The only downside to me is a fairly lame food selection. Definitely don't come here looking for an artisan baked good. Tears. read more

I'm definitely a fan of FCB. I used to go here when I didn't have wifi at my house, and did my email and some work while sipping on a coffee and munch on some grub. It's usually pretty quiet, which is totally odd for a coffee shop in my opinion. Prices are good with a crazy fun selection of drinks. Comfy chairs, plenty of tables and outlets and things like that. It's kind of sterile feeling (another reviewer used that word and I thought it was a perfect description) but there are usually plenty of people there and you can meet new friends or just hang out with your laptop on the free wifi doing whatever it is you want to do! Staff is polite and friendly, always willing to recommend something hot or cold to drink, and prices are reasonable with the wifi being free. Fluid is a fun joint that I love to stop at when I'm in that part of town! read more

Overpriced simple pre-made breakfast foods. Also the chai that I had literally tasted of watered down foamed milk, with no chai flavoring whatsoever. No sweetness, no spice. I came here for a quick convenience with time getting breakfast, and I was hungry too. Hopping coffee bar in Uptown with a laid back vibe. Lots of places to sit, free wi fi with a purchase and delicious pastries. Fluid is one of the few good "work" coffeehouses around Denver and for that I am grateful. Many coffeeshops in Denver are almost aghast if you pull out your laptop; some purposely do not offer wi-fi and seem to actively discourage people from hanging out for a while. Other coffeeshops are just too small and the work spaces fill up too quickly. Fluid is pretty much perfect for work. It's large enough (especially when you can use their "event" space in back. It's set up well with outlets and fast wi-fi. It has decently priced caffeine and snacks. And above all it just has a good vibe that makes you productive. It also has some good tables and a cozy couch area that work well for group meetings/work. Fluid is a good name, because whenever I'm here, my brain juices get flowing. read more

Good place to have a cup of coffee and get some things done or just waste some time. There are plenty of choices of coffee, also there are pastries and i believe other food choices but i didn't have any so I can't comment on it. The inside is really large, open, and inviting. Plenty of places to sit for a while and use the free WiFi. There is plenty of free 2 hour parking outside, although I parked for about 4 hours getting some stuff done and didn't have any issues. There is some music playing, but it's not obnoxiously loud like other people say on here, it's about average. And you can't really complain because it's actually good music. The people were pretty nice as well, helpful with choices. read more

Fluid Coffee Bar - Interesting people you will see at Fluid. They were actually pretty funny and took pictures with the staff. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I had a great experience here. I stopped by to try this place out and to pick up some beans which, for whatever reason, are cheaper here than at the actual Novo by the art museum. But do be careful about checking the roast date. Some bags are much fresher than others. Ordered a macchiato. The espresso was some of the best I've had in Denver. Good aroma, taste, and feel. There was a hit of bitterness but it was faint and not too distracting. I will return for other drinks and to see how consistent they are. I am a bit troubled that their to-go cup size only goes down to 12 oz (on the menu, at least). read more

I live right across the street and have spent countless hours at this place. The service is always consistently good, and though the place gets packed, they always keep a smile on their face. One time, I was crying to my roommates about something, and one of the baristas brought out my favorite drink!!! love them! The few times I've actually waited in line for my coffee have still been pleasant, there's always something interesting to stare at on the walls, local artist promos and such. The CHAI LATTE is amazing, i get it with soy milk. YUM! They can make it a ton of different ways, my friend once purchased it completely sugarless. I thought it was aweful, i love sugar.
