This is a very sharp looking little coffee house located in an office building. The seating inside is nice and comfortable. The lighting is very sleek and good looking. In addition to coffee, they had some very nice looking baked goods. The huge almond croissant we ordered was very fresh and moist. Blue Sparrow is one of my go-to spots in Denver for grabbing a coffee and getting some work done or just to read a book and relax. They do a great job with a variety of unique offerings such as the Golden Latte which is a turmeric-based drink. One word: phenomenal. This location in the Platte River/Confluence Park area is located in the lobby of a business building including a WeWork so expect some foot traffic but there is plenty of seating and the same great quality drinks and pastries you would expect from Blue Sparrow. Keep in mind there is only paid parking around metered on the street or in lots and garages. Jeff, the owner, and team do a wonderful job of creating spots that are just slightly above the rest in terms of quality of drinks, phenomenal service, and beautiful spaces. I would say it was love at first sip - I have liked Blue Sparrow Coffee since the first time I tried their coffee years ago. Things I love about Blue Sparrow: 1) The coffee is delicious. The latte that I usually order here is smooth as silk and the almond milk is creamy and doesn't taste like it came from a cardboard box. The latte is $6.05 for 12oz, with all the add ons including a $0.10 single use cup fee, if you choose that option. 2) The space is intimate and the design is high end. The space reminds me of a Tiffany box; there are sophisticated hues of blue, the bling comes from metals of the lighting fixtures, and the geometric floor tiles provide additional visual interest. 3) Location, location, location! Platte street is a great place to explore and Confluence Park is a perfect place to take your single use cup and stroll. Great people watching in the park. 4) You can bring your [well behaved] dog! Note: This Blue Sparrow opens up to the lobby of an office building which has additional seating, including comfy couches. Note: street parking is paid all the time so make sure you take care of that. Everyone complains about parking but I've always found a spot within a five minute walk. Note 2: it can get busy here, however I find that coming in on the weekends before 8:30 gives me the peace I want at the beginning of my day. Note 3: service is good and the team does their best to get your coffee to you as soon as possible. There is only one machine and when it gets busy you will wait. This coffee shop has saved my mom-sanity the past several major holidays. BLESS YOU for being open on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Truly our go-to with our toddlers. The coffee and pasties are great, the servers are super friendly, the atmosphere is adorable, and it's connected to an open space of a building lobby where my toddlers can do toddler things, like roll around on the ground and run up and down a hallway. Is this encouraged? Probably not, but it's so hard to find coffee in a space where toddlers can be toddlers without breaking something. Aside from the space, there are tables and couches, and it's especially cute at Christmas time with a Christmas tree! I will say, the last time we went there were 4 very well behaved dogs sitting spaced out with their owners. We didn't hang around because I didn't want my kids to excite a dog, but just worth noting! I made a stop here before my long bike ride on the South Platte River Trail for a much needed boost of caffeine. It was pleasantly busy but I was able to order and get my iced mocha fairly quickly. The barista who made my drink knew what they were doing. Other places will just leave the chocolate sitting at the bottom (making it impossible to mix after the iced is added) but I saw how she expertly blended it with the espresso to prevent that, which I greatly appreciate! They're located in the same office building as WeWork with seating and outlets available in the lobby area, in case the seating in the shop is full. This place is so cute & small but packs a punch. The pastry display case is packed full of delicious rotating treats - we got a lemon poppyseed bread and ham & cheese croissant. The lemon loaf was super bright and tangy and the tiny poppy seeds gave it such a satisfying touch. I loved the croissant as well it was soft and the cheese was flavorful and delicious. The hubby and I hit up this location of BSC a few different times on our trip to visit our family and friends in CO. We used to visit the Blake St location when we lived there, but the Platte location was close to our rental and provided easier parking. It's a gorgeous shop with good vibes, beautiful colors, textures and tile, delicious pastries and an even better selection of coffees and teas. During our multiple visits, we ordered a double espresso, a cortado with almond milk, an iced vanilla latte with almond milk, a cup of drip coffee and a matcha latte. All the drinks we received were well made and smooth. Thank you for also providing multiple plant based milk options like almond along with oat and soy. The whole movement to oat milk has annoyed me since it's higher in carbs and makes the drinks way too milky tasting for my liking. Keep doing what you're doing BSC. read more

There are a few locations, I can only speak for the Platte St. location but the staff are friendly and love the neighborhood coffee vibe. Located in a shared workspace, there are lots of seating options allowing for a fun coffee date or a work space or even space outside to enjoy the sunshine! Love that they support local coffee roasters and local artists featuring sweatshirts, candles, dog toys and even a phenomenally made dress featuring recycled coffee materials from the shop. They do offer different milk options for coffee drinks but to my knowledge, don't have vegan or other dietary restrictive friendly options for the pastries. read more

Go for a good coffee to go, but service sucks. Can't even get reasonable eye contact engagement or polite general greeting. She couldn't be bothered for a "non-regular" person. Had to ask for silverware, and it was like I asked for something akin to asking for her 1st born and she just laid them on the counter where she had been pushing coffee cups and food to many unsanitary hands. Came here to study one Saturday. Barista was playing old school Method Man and Biggie Smalls on the aux, so I knew it was legit. Got a strawberry croissant and vanilla latte because I'm more basic than a white girl. Both were BUSSIN' as the Zoomers say. Legit the best coffee and pastry I've had in Denver, which says a lot since I lived in coffee snob land known as Washington for a decade. I have been to this location 3x now since wonder across the street closed. The coffee is decent I have had both latte and drip. It doesn't taste burnt which I really appreciate! The Matcha was not for me. It didn't have a strong matcha flavor which is what I look for in my matcha. But, if you like the lighter matcha flavor theirs will hit the spot for you. The real reason for the two stars for me is the attitude of the baristas. All three times I have been here it is between the hours of 10 am -12 (noon). It has not been busy and I have not had to wait to have someone take my order. I preface with this because all three times the baristas are incredibly dismissive. Like they are upset to be having to make a coffee or say hello. The first time I thought it was just a fluke, like maybe this guy had a bad day. Second time, I thought maybe I was looking for the bad attitude and I found it. But the third time the two different baristas I interacted with were dismissive. I walked up to the counter and asked how they were and the response was a dead stare and "what do need?" And the barista who handed me my drink I said "thanks so much! Have a great day" and there was no response. If they were busy I wouldn't think twice but there was hardly anyone there. I was searching for a place to go instead of Starbucks but the attitudes make this place not it for me. read more

If you're looking for a cute, vibrant, cozy coffee shop on platte street, this is the one. My usual problem with a lot of the coffee I try is that it is mostly milk with a little bit of espresso. I get the same thing at every new coffee shop I try, which is an iced latte, so I can judge every place equally. Usually it's SO much milk, it barely is even coffee. But at this place, it was the perfect mix, and it tasted great!! The coffee taste itself is amazing, it's a very balanced taste. The espresso wasn't bitter either which I find a lot with some coffee shops. My mom and sister got chais, and they said they liked theirs a lot. They said it had a very heavy spice factor, which made it a great cozy drink. Overall, my experience was great, the coffee was good, the place is super cute, the barista was nice and great at his job, and they even let dogs in the place! 10/10 would recommend, I'm excited to stop by next time I'm in Denver! read more
