The lemon Zatar avacado toast comes with a generous serving of both avocado and toast the avocado was fresh. The bread was soft with a good crust. I was hoping for slightly more assertive flavors and a bit of texture, but it was good. A strong and good finish of our trip! It's conveniently located near the union station and has a bright and cool interior. I've known the roaster through buying their beans online before, so I was very excited to visit the coffee shop in person. It didn't disappoint me. We stopped by right after it opened at 7AM and the two ladies at the shop were very friendly. I tried the regular cold brew and the seasonal lavender latte. The cold brew had a pleasant fruity taste with a naturally sweet aftertaste. The lavender latte was nicely presented and served at the right temperature. The service was top notch - I love matcha chai and it wasn't on the menu. I asked the barista if it was possible and she was immediately intrigued. My husband ordered an iced vanilla latte and I ordered the seasonal sunset lemonade. First off, the only alternative milk option was oat. IDK what it is with these roasters, but please offer additional plant based milks like almond. It's lower in carbs, gf, keto friendly and doesn't leave the drinks super milky tasting. Second, his coffee drink was so milky that it could've used an additional shot or two because the espresso was so masked by the oat milk. My lemonade was very tasty but the cup was 3/4 full of ice that I thought I was at a Starbucks and it was $7...for a lemonade. We visited the Diary Block location once on our trip to Denver and were largely disappointed. It's clearly trying to hard to be a vibe and leaves much to be desired on the actual products. My husband's cappuccino was fine though nothing memorable but my chai latte was the worst I had all week (the tea sign showed Rishi products but this was definitely not Rishi). It was sour and just poorly made. My almond butter toast really took the cake the though. The sourdough crust was so hard I literally couldn't bite through it and it bent the flatware trying to saw through it. They also added jam (not on the menu) and way too much of it which basically made it a messy child's pb&j. It was, without question, the worst food experience I had all week. Add to that the outdated, too-low, musty couches and non-customers camping out with their shoes off and it just isn't a place a would recommend or ever return to. There are so many good coffee shops in the area with better drinks, food, and hygiene. I'll give it an extra star because at least it didn't make us sick. read more

Post COVID review: Visited Denver at the end of June when masks and social distancing were in full effect. While 50% capacity dine in was in place in Denver, Huckleberry was only doing online orders and curbside pick up. A short walk from Union Station, we arrived and immediately saw the sign on the sidewalk prompting us to order online and pick up at the makeshift window. It seemed like there was only 1 person working on a Saturday morning. She was making drinks, expediting orders, answering questions at the window... this created a bit of a wait. I got the Iced Love Grows Here latte (comes with lavender rosemary syrup-- yum!). Customizing it to iced and with oat milk turned it into a $7 drink... yikes. While tasty, I'm not sure I could afford a $7 a day habit. The Cortado and drip coffee were also tasty. read more
