Good food as always, usually eat at the SW Freeway location but happened to be in Webster yesterday. Would've been a solid 4 but today they get 3. Only complaint is whoever shucks the oysters has NO clue on doing it right. They're shucked and the oyster is left on the shallow half of the shell. The deeper cupped shell that holds all the good oyster liquor isn't used. This makes no sense, that's part of the goodness that makes eating half shell oysters so tasty. This was my first time going. I went with my boyfriend, he was craving crawfish. Decent pricing, I think he got 5.99 for 35.00 bucks, he added shrimp and sausage. It was delicious! The place is very cool inside, decent pricing for Cajun food. I got the catfish with etouffee. I really tried not to compare my etouffee but I couldn't help it! Lol. Since the new manager started and hired his friend's girlfriend Tara to bartend, this location has gone downhill. If you sit at the bar, be prepared to wait 20 minutes for Tara to acknowledge you or take your order. Then when she finally does, watch her make your drinks as she will give you well alcohol even if you order topshelf or another brand. This is not the first time this has happened to me, nor my friends, but this is the last time it will. I ordered Tito's and all three times, she tried to give me another brand of vodka besides Tito's. This issue was addressed several times with just a laugh from her and the manager. I've been a loyal regular there for over a year and I cannot stand how the place is now being ran by the new manager. This place was so much better under the management of Clint and Mike. I refuse to go there now if I see Tara working at the bar. I guess it's time for me to find a new place to go for seafood and drinks, especially when I'm having lunch and dinner meetings. read more

It pains be to share such a negative experience for a restaurant I used to adore and had just recommended to a client of mine. It was the referral thought of good old Floyd's that made me plan a visit with my boys. Upon arriving, we noticed the crawfish platter display. The restaurant was steady, but no one appeared to be waiting. We proceeded to find a table (self seating is what I remembered from the past). We entered through the front entrance, but found a seat in the back. After sitting for a few minutes, a young man explained that we would have to be placed on a waiting list. I didn't see anyone waiting and asked how long was the wait. We were quoted 15-20 minutes unless we picked first available. He would then be able to seat us sooner. Before getting up, I asked about the seating policy. I remembered self seating. He explained that the policy changed. I confirmed by asking if guests enter from the back, they would have to walk to the front of the restaurant to request seating. He confirmed this as true. He himself mentioned that it was weird. At any rate, once getting to the front, a family that clearly walked in after us were the ones that would be seated at the one available table where we were seated. My boys respectfully requested to eat someplace else. I agreed. This was a weird experience. We all walked away feeling odd. There are no signs "wait to be seated" signage at either door. This is certainly necessary with this type of restaurant layout and if an attendant is not at both doors. I decided to leave this public note of my experience after calling, asking for a manger and staying on hold for 13 minutes after identifying myself as a customer (without anyone returning to the phone). It was my intention to share my feedback and offer this suggestion for future customers. Perhaps a call from a customer wasn't high on the priority list. At any rate, I would certainly hope that my clients who were referred here had a much better experience than we did. read more

I've avoided Floyd's since they opened for one reason only: seafood and my allergy. We received gift cards and i checked out the landlocked options, which they had several. My husband and i decided to come today (he loves all things seafood) and it has been a very pleasant experience. Our waiter, Andy N, truly cares about his customer and it shows. Unlike some places where when an allergy is brought up and the wait staff groans, our waiter was knowledgeable and went back to the kitchen to ask for my chicken to be kept separate. The fried pickles were delicious and in no shortage! They had a great dill flavor and the batter wasn't too heavy. My blackened chicken was flavorful and I'd order again in a heartbeat. The pork chop was tender and juicy and you get two good sized chops. While the food was delicious, Andy made the experience excellent. My 5 stars are given for the outstanding service on top of good food. read more

Visited Floyd's for the first time after Mardi Gras...best decision we could've made!! Everything we ordered was delicious (boudin balls, catfish platter, fried oysters, crab bisque, dirty rice, fried shrimp). We can't wait to make the trip back though we hope they will open a location in the Kingwood/Humble or Woodlands area. Aside from the food, the service was impeccable! Took an out of town friend there because she was feeling like some local seafood. She got what she was looking for. Had the boudain balls, grilled fish, and courtboullion. The fish was fresh and topped with some lump crab and lemon sauce that was pretty tasty. The courtboullion was amazing. I was really excited about coming here after reading the reviews. It was a gorgeous day out and we wanted to eat crawfish somewhere outside. Outdoor seating is seat yourself. So we grabbed a few menus from the inside and went out and sat down at the only available table. The table was dirty and a waiter notice and assured us that he'd send someone out to clean the table. The chairs were not comfortable for eating. The were lounge type chairs, fit for kicking back and enjoying a beer I suppose. The tables were a little too high, so sitting at the table and trying to eat was not too comfortable. My boyfriend ordered raw oysters and the crab bisque. My son ordered a shrimp po-boy. ..and I ordered the red beans and rice and two pounds of crawfish. The waitress informed us that they had run out of crawfish but had some on order and it would be there and ready in about 15 minutes. ...I thought that was okay so I decided to stay with my order. She brought us drinks and realized our table still had not been cleaned so she went and got a rag and cleaned it herself. About 10 minutes later she brought out my red beans and rice. I thought it was okay (I actually think Popeyes does a better job). About 10 minutes later, here came our waitress with my crawfish. She didn't say anything about my guys' food, so I asked her. ...and she said it was coming. She also said I'm sorry, I can't control what the kitchen cooks first. ...which was so uncalled for. I finished all of my food and flagged the waitress down. I told her...Look, I'm sorry but you need to stop and check on the food for the guys. I'm completely done with my food and my boyfriend still hasn't even got his raw oysters. She apologized and one minute later, here she comes with their food. My boyfriend then had to wait to eat his oysters because she didn't bring crackers. ...which took another 5 minutes. So needless to say, the service was quite disappointing. I found out later that there was only one waitress for the patio. Weird, since the weather was nice. I'm surprised management didn't think more people would want to sit outside. Overall the waitress was pleasant. ...I understand she just had her hands way too full. The crawfish was huge but not too tasty (I'm not sure if that was due to the rush, since they ran out). My boyfriend said his bisque was delicious and my son said his po-boy was great (even though he asked for just the bun, the shrimp, cheese, bacon, and mustard and it was served with their special sauce and lettuce and tomatoes). The portions are huge and they seem to do a great job with fried seafood. I'll probably go back the next time I'm craving a fried seafood platter. Sat at the bar. Too late, I realized it was a smoking bar, which meant people to the left and right of me were smoking. I have nothing against allowing smoking in restaurants, but wish I'd realized before I sat down. Bar waitress was very sweet. She brought about half of what I asked for. Free things, like water and crackers, were forgotten even when I asked, but she had no trouble remembering items that went on the bill. A bit frustrating. No draft beer, no micr0-brews, and no local beers (like St Arnold's). The regulars seem happy with the big-brewery-watery beers. Gumbo was good, but could have been hotter. I'll try this again but will sit outside or not at the bar, and hope for some space from the smokers. read more

This was my first visit to Floyd's. The place was packed, which I considered a good omen and was expecting great food. Our server had over ten tables to himself and therefore service was very very slow. Not his fault, and totally forgivable in my book. I assumed they were understaffed for the day. We ordered a couple drinks and were enjoying ourselves, so no big deal. The food was unfortunately another story. My companion ordered crawfish and was happy with what she received. I ordered the seafood salad and was highly disappointed. The sparse seafood was served on limp iceburg and accompanied by rotten vegetables. No joke - ROTTEN. Not bruised, ROTTEN. My tomatoe had mold growing out of it, the onion was so soft it was jelly and smelled horrible. The cucumbers were so old they were transparent. We didn't see our server again for an hour, and though he was deeply apologetic and clearly saw what I saw on the plate, he charged us for the salad nonetheless, which by the way was $16. I must clearly note that even if this salad were pristine, it isn't - wasn't - and would never be worth $16. read more

If you are in the mood for fired seafood, Floyds s the place. The selection of seafood is quite extensive and even includes alligator. I tried the alligator and it was quite tender. Now yes, it was Easter Sunday and we rolled in about 1:10pm ... but we didn't get out of there until 3:10 .... and at some point we were the only ones in the makeshift walkway area we were sitting in... will not go back again! This is a really good place. Sometimes the food is over salted but that's what you get with good ole Cajun food. Floyds has to be a mainstay if you're local. Our evening started out at the swamp shack to get crawfish only to sit there for 30m to find out that they ran out. Called Floyd's 5 pounds for $25. Flavor amazing. Wife got blackened catfish, extremely tasty and instead of 2 small slivers you actually get 2 fillets. Service was amazing.
