Super excited about this place. I love my greens and the fact that the protein choice is optional. I hate removing chicken or beef from a salad only to be charged the same price. After reading the reviews, I ordered online for pick up. Arrived at the time I was suppose to... stood by the outside pick-up window for a few minutes as 2-3 parties walked in. After about 5 minutes of waiting for someone to help me at the pickup counter, I ventured in and had to wait another 15 minutes while The people who walked in as I was waiting at the window ordered. Then the cashier had the audacity to ask me to total out the bill?...like leave a tip? The Buddha bowl was excellent. Hopefully the service was just a misunderstanding. read more

First up Desert Ridge, today we ordered the vegetable chopped salad with sustainable salmon and the seasonal Gluten free Pumpkin muffin. Tender flaky fish, crispy begables and ripe abacado with a miso dressing to die for. The muffin was moist, just the right amount of spice and a drizzle dressing that left my happy and full! For the Camelback location I had the Kale and Quinoa salad add chicken. This was delightful after a Sunday ministry and as expected, crisp kale and veggies, tender flavorful chicken and topped off with the BEST gluten free, chocolate chip@cookies in town. Went for a quick lunch before a hike. My wife had the Avocado Caesar Salad and I had the Ginger Miso Crunch. We both added steak to our meals. They were great with adjusting some of the ingredients and helping with some dietary restrictions. The Miso Crunch is a great refreshing meal. Steak portions was small and if you are really concerned with protein count then I would double up. Our meals were up quick. Great to have some fresh food that can be served up so quickly. read more

Another delicious meal at flower child. I was pleased to see on this visit that they have added handicap parking and a cut curb directly in front of the restaurant. They have not however corrected the lineup problem in front of the door, which continues to obstruct exit from the building. Mom had a salad, the skinny Cobb with chicken added. She was very pleased with a generous portion of chicken and the salad dressing. I ordered a pick three veggie plate which included brussel sprouts roasted butternut squash and green beans. The green beans are slightly spicy and eyeglass tasted like miso oh, very enjoyable. The butternut squash was while Brown and caramel eyes and included crunchy dried mulberries which were a new treat for me. The brussel sprouts were also roasted to perfection and quite delicious. Although I could have added a piece of salmon to make this a more complete meal, I was very full with just the veggie plate and a chicken tortilla soup. The soup was excellent, with blue corn chips in a clear broth, some small pieces of chicken and a little bit of a punch from the spice of poblano peppers. The restaurant is still extremely noisy. The music was too loud to even hear my 80 year old mother speak and i had to ask her to repeat herself many times. This was at 11:30 on a Thursday. The dining room was completely full by the time we left, with the line blocking our exit and increasing the noise volume. I really want to like this restaurant because the food is so excellent and the decor is very cute, but I think next time we may have to order takeout. read more

Whatever I had here is always good, in fact I never had anything bad. They have a call ahead order line and they have a different door for just pick up. Flower Child is one of our absolute favorites! It's one of the few options that is delicious and nutritious for the whole family. Full disclosure, I'm a southern, meat and potatoes guy so this spot is out of my normal wheel house. It's kind of a trendy spot in North Scottsdale designed for all the gluten free folks. We decided on this place because we have a close friend who has some food allergies so this met the need. Food Grade: C I had a grilled chicken entree with (gluten free) Mac and cheese and smashed potatoes. It's not a lot of food but enough to do the job. Very mild flavor and nothing my tastebuds would write home about. My 8 yr old niece had the kids meal with steak and the same sides. She ate it and didn't complain. My son had a similar chicken entree and liked it. My wife had avocado toast and liked it pretty well. Value: D The bottom line is we paid almost $50 for 2 entrees, a kids meal and an order of avocado toast. Definitely on the pricey end. I absolutely love Flower Child so when I heard that this location was opening, I was so excited. Today was the grand opening day and they were giving out free samples of Kombucha and flower bundles for the ladies. The food is amazing. I think it's slightly better than their 90th street location. The eggplant was seasoned better. The strawberry fields salad had organic strawberries which were so fresh and sweet. Avocado hummus was spot on with toasted pumpkin seeds adding nice crunch. Staff were excellent. They seemed to have everything working perfectly. Although the line was out the door, they had it moving and once seated, food came out pretty quickly. They had plenty of seats inside and out (patio) although most people chose to sit inside due to the warm weather. Highly recommend this location. read more

Met a friend here for early lunch. Got there at 11:00, and they were only letting in two people at a time. Otherwise, had to wait outside or maybe barely inside the door for the next in line. After perusing the menu, I decided upon the flying avocado wrap. Cute name. I think it was supposed to have turkey in it. If it did, it was shredded and seemed to have barely any meat. It was tasty, though. Nice and fresh and light with the right balance of seasoning. They assigned us where to sit. Every other table in order to practice safe social distancing. This restaurant was flavorful, affordable and the customer service was top notch. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the front desk staff who very patiently took our orders. He was apologetic about some of the bowls being unavailable, but there were still plenty of options. The shrimp was cooked and flavored perfectly and the gluten free mac and cheese was a hit with my gluten sensitive husband. I will say, I am aware that Fox (or maybe Flower Child in general) is attempting to standardize portion sizes & charging accordingly (no problem with a higher price if we know what to expect!!!). Now, today... I sent in my order, a 3 side veggie place, and received THREE sweet potatoes cubes for a regular size. It was pretty laughable. I ordered a salad (the EXACT same salad I order. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.) This time my husband picked up the to go order and the staff member brought out the food and asked him for an extra $1.63 for the 'extra avocado' as it didn't go through on the app??!!! WTF!!! Really?!! The order is already $50.92. (ALSO, the salad has avocado on it already - the amount added as a $1.63 'extra' - just outrageous!!!) I ask for olives (there isn't anywhere to 'add' them and they usually accommodate.. not today) The big problem is that the ''extra'' avocado that we (inconveniently) paid an additional $1.63 for was INEDIBLE. Over ripe, brown and slimy! Some of the lettuce and other veg were brown also. Not happy at all. Being a fan of other flowerchild locations, I had an extremely pleasant experience here! Finally made it in for dinner. I love the atmosphere of this specific spot... high ceilings and open atmosphere. I feel like it's much more roomy than other locations, you don't feel like tables are crammed together at all. Great vibe. Those working are super friendly. It was pretty busy when we arrived but they all handed it like champs. They assigned us a number and placed it on a table for us, so when we ordered at the counter we gave them our number, then went and found our table. The other locations usually have you pick seating yourself, so I'm not sure if this is because it's new or what they'll be doing at this location, but it made the ordering and seating process super easy. The food remains consistent. I've tried various menu items from wraps to different plate combinations, but we decided to keep it pretty basic this time. I ordered a steak plate with the mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. My partner ordered steak and potatoes as well. Both were delicious. The steak is served medium and the portions are just right. The Mac n cheese is creamy but not overwhelming. Potatoes are great. All in all a good meal. If you are dining with individuals with gluten allergies, or those who may be vegan, this spot has something for everyone. I'm not particularly healthy nor do I have allergies but I still enjoy the food! They have a hand washing station before you hit the water/lemonade area which is cute. Bathrooms are gender neutral and have the vacant/non vacant identifiers on them which is super helpful. Not to mention they are cute inside! My review is NOT for the food; that was good, as always. My review is for the customer service and handling of my order. I was placing a large takeout order for ten people. I attempted to order one day in advance for curbside pickup the next day. I tried to go online to order. I inputted all 10, went to the pay screen, and it would not accept my credit card. I tried others, but they would not work either. I called the restaurant and was told they don't manage the website. I had to contact the webmaster; they had no number or information on who to call. If I placed the order over the phone, I could not pay in advance; you had to pay when you picked it up. As I was not picking up, this wasn't going to work for me. I then decided OK, I'll go over it and order to pay in person. I begin the ordering process, tell all the orders, and then when we get to the end, I'm told we would no longer have Brussell Sprouts on the menu as of tomorrow. Four friends had ordered, so I had to text the group to find out what they wanted instead. Of course, they wouldn't get right back to me, so I headed over to TARGET until I heard from my friends. Finally I received responses and went back to the restaurant. I spoke with two managers and confirmed that the order would be picked up the next day at 5:30 PM. The next day, I called one of the managers around 2:30 PM, whom I had spoken with yesterday, and confirmed the order was in the line to be made and ready by 5:30. All good, I thought. NOPE At about 3:30, I got another call that Mushroom Bolognese was no longer available. Two of my friends had ordered this, too. I had to reach out to get a replacement order for these. Around 5:15 PM, I got another call that Maple Squash was NOT Available. I really cannot believe this anymore. Who at this restaurant knows what items they have available? We chose another item. My friends picked up the order. A verbal apology was given, that's all. Really, after all the inconveniences, you couldn't throw in a dessert or something. VERY DISAPPOINTING. In addition, I believe the replacements we ordered for the mushroom bolognese were less money, and we are owed some money back. I am so frustrated that I can't even go back to them to inquire. Again, I have no complaints about the food; customer service was horrible. It's so disappointing, as we've eaten at Flower Child ever since we arrived in AZ. I suggest having employees know what food is available from the kitchen. UPDATE: March 26, 2024 I was contacted by one of the managers who I had spoken with during this incident. I was told they were refunding all the money I spent for that meal, $200. I commend Flower Child for not sitting on my review, but going back and turning a poor customer service experience around. Adel, the manager here, is extremely efficient! The website has some issues when you go to order individual items along with the Catering orders (doesn't allow), so I had to place two different orders; however, there was also an issue with the delivery portion of the individual orders where it would not allow it to be delivered to my location even though the catering delivery had no issues. Adel made sure everything would be delivered as expected and his communication with the process was spectacular. The food is ALWAYS amazing, but I am now learning the customer service is also exceptional. 10/10 would recommend this food to anyone! read more
