These people at the barber shop are so kind and do a wonderful job on my haircut. They pay attention to detail and remember me since I come often. All of the barbers do a great job and it's a great deal. The only downside is they don't accept credit or debit cards. It's only cash. read more

I've been getting my hair cut at Flower Barber Shop for roughly 10 years. There are six barbers (3 men, 3 women) working in this tiny shop. Unlike some customers I don't have a favorite barber. I get my haircut by whomever is available. Some do a better job than others. Since I started growing a beard in November they've been trimming it when I get my monthly haircut and at no extra cost. Haircuts cost $12 but I add a $2 tip, partly because I usually have a very short wait, regardless of how crowded they are, and partly because they do such a nice job. read more

Bad with guys who have medium to long hair. I came in asking for a little bit off the top. I hair stylist kept messing up and trying to correct her mistake. This happened 3-4 times, I ended up with an uneven buzz cut. Do not go here if you want anything but a basic buzz cut. read more

Customer care and their cut skill was bad , couldn't get do a simply fade, basically the guy gave me the wrong hair cut and after all he could do is say sorry, told me if was my fault for trusting him to cut my hair. Acted like he understood what I wanted. I came to the DMV needing a new barber and with straight Asian hair, you can't get it at any place. Nor can I get t at a reasonable price. I had paid like 25-30 for two bad haircuts before I was referred to Flower St. My haircut is pretty straightforward, a fauxhawk. For me that's a 1 on the sides and progressively goes up to a 3 in the middle. The guy on the first seat to the right, Phillip, has done a pretty good job with me the past year and cuts are 12 a piece. I think that's outrageously good for the area and it is consistent. The stylists here are from one of the pacific islands. Either Vietnam, Laos, or Hmong. They're quite friendly , fast and solid. If you have a really specific cut this may not be the place for you. If you just get a fade or whatever, this is a good option. read more

2-1/2 stars. They're very good if you have a very basic haircut request that doesn't take much effort/skill. I've been going here for the past few months and asked for different haircuts from the three female barbers and gotten almost the exact same cut every time (and none of them was the cut I asked for), regardless of my request. I'll give it to them that they are fairly attentive to the little details - stray hairs, etc, and even razor-shave your edges. Language may be a barrier as well. If you're looking for a basic haircut, at $12 they're good value. But alas, time for this guy to move on to more stylish haircuts. read more

I been coming here for 30+ years thanks to my cousin that used to bring me here when I was very young when we were living across the street from Takoma Park Metro Station. I'm very anal when it comes to barbers. Since me and my cousin old barber left after she had a baby way back in the day. I was very fortune to find a new barber that was station in the same chair as my old barber. She been cutting my hair for over 12 years now. She is the first chair on the left when you walk in. I do wish they can clean up the hair from the chair after each round this is why I took a star off. Back in the day it was just like the movie Barber Shop. It was like a social club, playing cards, laughing, joking, playing soap, game shows on the TV with the rabbit ear antenna. Now they have upgraded the flooring, painting, ceiling fans, etc. It's still CASH Only!!!. read more

I've been getting hair cuts here through two (three??) decades. The morale of the barbers has always been high, and they always surprise me with their quick attention even when things seem busy. I showed the stylist several pics of the pixy cut I wanted. I explained that I wanted my ears to show and that I wanted the hair tapered in the back and not cut too short around the forehead. I said this 3 times. I still ended up with the opposite of what I wanted. I don't think they can cut women's hair. read more

It's not fancy, but they know how to cut men's hair, and its only $12. Don't waste your money on anything else.

This is a 3-4 star barber on a general scale, but a 4.5-star for the area. I have also gone to "the Suite" barbershop nearby a few times, which is $20+ per cut vs. $12. I'll continue to go here. I you just want a hair cut, and don't need to have a detailed discussion with your barber, this is a good choice. Barber was a young woman, clearly experienced. read more

I have gone to Flower Barber for a little over a year. The customer service is great. They are very attentive and curious. My favorite barber there is Hong. However, I would recommend any of them. The prices are reasonable. I get my hair and beard done. I will continue to go there. read more
