But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

Stylist was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring. They also have competitive pricing. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted which was a short comb over cut and when she was done it was nothing close to the picture. I asked if she can taper a little higher and that's when everything went bad. She chopped off everything where I can't comb over because it's too short. She started to use force to move my head around. Her tune changed. At the end she said the style I wanted didn't look good so she gave me the style of what she thought was good for me. I came in with a medium long hair and left with a uneven buzz cut. Save your hair, money and time and go somewhere else.

And this was after him refusing to acknowledge whether or not he would even cut the hair of the minority child. It's always hard to witness racism, and it really soured the entire day for both the kids (ignorant to why it was happening) and to the parents (that did). I don't really know what else to say other than I would never patronize this place and found the behavior repulsive. All I can really do is just shake my head at the whole affair. This is a quiet, no-frills place to get a great haircut in minutes. I've had cuts by three different barbers there in the last year, and all of them gave me what I wanted with little direction. It's rarely crowded. The only wait I've had over 5 minutes was mid-morning on a Saturday. I've also gone twice recently to a newer, nearby Barber shop next to Continental Pizza. There you get a noisy, crowded atmosphere with squawking parrots and European soccer matches on the TV. I prefer the quiet atmosphere at Olympic and don't mind the soft classical music they usually have on. read more

Pro tip: I taped a mask on my face with medical tape so the barber could cut the sides of my hair when I removed the ear loops. - Appointments only, call the shop (301-871-2663) or Tam's mobile (301-928-9640). - They take a max of 4 appointments at a time following MoCo phase 2 guidelines. - All barbers are BARBICIDE COVID-19 certified. - All barbers wear masks and gloves and makeshift partitions separate the 4 available chairs spaced over 6 feet apart. - You must wear a mask inside. Tip: use medical tape, scotch tape, or cut pieces of packing tape to keep the mask on your face so the barbers can better cut the sides of your hair. - All barbers disinfect and wipe the barber chairs before and after each appointment. They disinfect and clean their clippers, scissors, combs, etc. before and after each appointment as well. I waited a few minutes while Tam did this in front of me. It was much appreciated. - They also use freshly laundered haircut bibs for every appointment. - The barbers immediately give you hand sanitizer when you walk in. - You have the option to wait outside or inside if you get there early for your appointment or have to wait for an earlier one to finish.
