I was chilling at Le Paris Dakar and had extra time to burn before I picked up my son when I instantly thought "it would be a good idea to get a massage." I looked across the street and thought to self "N-Diya. I'm going to call them now." I didn't think I was going to get anyone but someone (it was Safiya) picked up the phone. I asked if it was possible to make a same day appointment for an aromatherapy massage and she booked me for the next hour. I was so excited. I entered the cozy and quaint parlor and there was another customer in there, who was on his way out. She then greeted me and asked if I was ready. I said of course. The massage experience was definitely what I needed. I was definitely tense in certain areas (which she paid close attention to). She used one of her body butters and let me tell you...I noticed a huge skin difference. I had some scars from being in the hospital (bandaid and electrode scars from the EKG leads) and they literally look lighter! I observed this when I got home. I was trying certain products from Duane Reade and Walgreens and nothing worked except for the body butter she used during the massage. Wow. I was checking out the website for the skin products and the ingredients are super natural. You can pronounce all the words; no synthetic mumbo-jumbo. I am making plans to purchase a few skin care items this week. The aromatherapy massage was priced in a standard way and depending on my budget, I might incorporate it into my pampering routine now and then. But as far as the products go, I am definitely becoming a long time customer.

Their sidewalk prices reflect their cash price for services, pre-tax and pre-tip, and they'll direct you to the enormous ATM machine positioned right at the desk where you settle up to make the point that they prefer (sometimes will only accept) cash. That's not subtle, but it's fine i guess. But then when it comes to tipping, it's so interesting-- even if you volunteer a 20% tip on the credit card price, they will tell you it's not enough, will do something on a calculator behind the desk and then show you a number on the calculator that is more like 28-30% tip. If you protest and say something along the lines of "I'm so sorry, that's not correct- i teach math, i understand percents, that is not a 20% tip. What i gave you was a 20% tip. The customer decides the tip," they argue and basically play chicken with you until you give in or leave feeling like they and everyone still getting their feet rubbed behind you think that you are a down-dirty thief or something. It's like they're banking on your discomfort and post-massage brain fuzz to get a 30% tip. I watched them do this to one customer during the foot part of my last massage and then heard them do it to another customer while i was getting my back worked on during the same visit... and then, yep, they did it to me, too. I gave them what they wanted, knowing i would never, ever be back, and that i would probably stop going to their sister massage spot a few blocks away even though I've been a regular there for 18 years and really like their massages. I wasn't going to post a review about this-- that last visit where they challenged my math was actually 5 months ago, i just walked away and committed to not going there anymore-- but i overheard two young women in a restaurant talking about this happening to them today, too, and wondering how they messed up the tipping so bad. It's not you, bebes, it seems to be the business model unfortunately. It wasn't always this way, but at least since November 2025, it seems to be a common occurrence. Check the reviews- it's mentioned in several other reviews besides mine, too. It's a shame. It gives basic, nuts-and-bolts tui-na spots a bad rep. So: Stay away. Or at least go in prepared with your own enormous calculator that you can wave around back in their face to show the actual math.

I have 3 herniated disks and one bulging disk. I swim, run, and do MMA. My back gets worn out in time and this is the place I come to feel rejuvenated. I have been coming here for about two years I have only experienced two bad massages, but that's when I was trying out different masseuses. I feel like this place is tailored for true deep tissue massages. Before coming here I have been to other locations where their deep tissue massages were extremely light compared to this location. So I would say about 70% of the masseuses here are heavy handed - which is perfect for me because of how tight my back gets. Now you can definitely find a light massage here but it's a roll of the dice in that respect. The only thing I can see that can be annoying is the language barrier. Don't come to this location with complicated requests because you will get frustrated. Point and mimic is the key. Use small english words and you can express your needs. I have a regular masseuse which already knows exactly what to do, so I leave feeling amazing!!
