A life isn't complete without at least one trip to Flo's. If you go in for the Maine "the way life should be" thing, then go because Flo's fits that notion to a tee. The menu is literally hot dogs. You can customize to a limited degree, like mustard-pickle relish-onions, or get a Flo dog. Don't look for hot buttered rolls or fancy plating because it's not here. Instead you'll get old Flo sitting on her stool writing out in long form your order and making your change in her head from a cash box....a full hand of quaintness. A good mix of locals and visitors alike.

Dogs are phenomenal. Relish looks absolutely disgusting but is so tangy and fantastic. I recommend the loaded dog or just the classic flo's style. This place is CASH ONLY and parking can be a pain but they've got a good system. Food is dirt cheap and doesn't take too long either. Just plan for no seating anywhere.

    Four bite hot dogs.

Good price. Good service. Small but flavorful hot dogs. The line was long but it moved quickly. Don't let the police directing traffic because the stand has so many customers deter you. It was worth the stop.

We drove by this place at 11:07 and there was a HUGE line! They open at 11:00. So we decided we had to try it. We went closer to close, around 2:30. There was a short line, nothing like in the morning. The steamed buns were great and their relish was delicious. The hotdogs had a good snap to them. Nothing fancy, but nothing short of delicious! Will be back.

Heard a lot about their mayonnaise and special sauce hot dogs. They on a country road and very little signage. Rustic inside, probably has never been updated. Short and quick line. I ordered three with the house special sauce. I was hungry lol They were okay. I think I had higher expectations.

This the best hot dogs you will EVER have. Get the flos special it is everything. My family and I have lived in York Maine for 10+ years and this our favorite place. The service is incredible, we love the whole family. The ambiance is cute, small, the place started in 1959 and has not lost its original touch and appeal. Love it here!

What a wonderful experience at Flo's. They've been there for 65 years and the reason is the fantastic hot dogs. I suggest the house special dog that they're known for. It comes with their relish, mayo, and celery salt. You order at the right window and pickup at the left window and don't forget your ticket. While waiting, stay behind the chains so you're not blocking the parking lot. But most importantly, enjoy your hot dog.

Should you find yourself in southern Maine and suddenly the hankering for a hot dog begins to take hold, follow me . I'll take you to this unassuming red building in Cape Neddick neatly tucked off the roadside with a sign that beckons, stating matter of factly " FLO's Steamed Hot Dogs" herein you will find several ways to dress your HD but most famously the choice is often the classic FLO's HOUSE DOG. A Steamed dog , adorned with FLO's special relish , mayo, celery salt and ensconced in a nice steamed bun. The tang of the relish, the hit of the celery salt combined with the richness of the mayo really makes a delectable dog for the enthusiast. I also order a less dazzling but no less delicious Kraut dog which I promptly wolfed down with gusto. I am not sure what legacy Flo's holds amongst the hordes of Hot Dog devotees but she has brought this one to her table as a life long fan. And if leaving vacation land has you wishing your stay was longer you can take a jar of Flo's relish home with you as they offer jars of it for sale to enjoy anywhere you like.

Hi Friends, For a place that claims to be the best hot dogs, I was certainly expecting something better than a dirty water dog (the homemade relish and mayo "house special" dog is okay). Interesting ordering system (seems as if they throw, say 30 dogs into the pot, then take enough orders to cover the dogs in the pot-- so you may wait 15 minutes if they just stopped taking orders). The decor is nonexistent, the staff seems really friendly with their regulars, while barely acknowledging the rest of us. Cash only, but the prices weren't horrendous. I'm not certain why the line snaked well outside the door and around the building when my pup and I drove past again after visiting Nubble Lighthouse. The hot dogs weren't that good, certainly not worth waiting more than a few minutes for. And Flo's only serves dogs, chips and drinks-- so if you're looking for anything else, go to one of the other multitude of restaurants in Cape Neddick, Ogunquit or Wells But Maine seems to be the land of lines, as I've encountered the same at Red's, and with a similar reaction. At least Red's has a variety on their menu See y'all at the crossroads

This is a hotdog from a roadside building. It's takeout only and cash only. It's a very unassuming looking hotdog but tastes really good. The dog comes on a piece of white bread rolled into a bun shape. The relish is what makes the hotdog very good. There were about six people in line when we arrived . It's a constant flow of people stopping here. Parking is limited but since it's takeout, you only have to wait a little before getting a spot. Once you land a spot, go to the right window and place your order. Then wait for your number to be called and pick it up at the left window.

Gail and my wife in front of Flo's

So been going to Maine for years and heard from my Boston friends about Flo Hot dogs. So this trip went into Flo's ordered the Flo dog and it was wicked! I also got to meet Gail (daughter of Flo) who runs the place great dog and enjoyed talking with Gail

Legendary for a reason, don't miss it if you are in the area. Recommend 3-4 dogs to fill up.

Excellent vibe, service, and food. My late wife and I always made Flo's the first stop for lunch when we went to vacation in Ogunquit.

So I looked them up and saw the adult happy meal on the menu and knew I had to try them. An hour and half drive was 100000% worth it!!! The entire building is small but feels very inviting and comfortable. The atmosphere is iconic with out of this world 90s cartoons painted on the walls. Even the bathroom had a touch of this nostalgia and whimsy (trust me look in the bathroom mirror for an amazing little touch). The staff were equally amazing and truly wonderful. I am currently pregnant and being very careful about what I eat so my husband asked the bartender/waiter if the feta is pasteurized. Most people would have simply said I don't know and moved on but this fellow went and asked the kitchen if the feta is pasteurized (it is). It's little things like that that make us want to go back. Now on to the star the food and drink! We had the soft pretzel which comes with beer cheese and stone ground honey mustard and the fried feta. The pretzel was great and the beer cheese was also great but the feta was indescribable. Every aspect of the feta was perfect and a true umami experience. I got the adult happy meal (a smash burger, chicken nuggets, and fries). It also comes with a toy which is just cherry on top status. The burger was fantastic BUT the fries and nuggets were crazy good. My husband got Flo's Double Burger and he had eaten half of it before I got mine out of the box. He would have eaten two of them if he wasn't so full! He also got the I gotta say... today was a good day sour ale. He loved it and enjoyed it enough we left with a four pack! This is the perfect Maine hidden gem and we will be back soon!

I don't like fishy tastes/seafood generally and this wasn't fishy at all. Not all rolls had similar quality though, one of the rolls my group ordered had a shell in it. Each lobster roll can be done with butter, mayo, or both and are heated upon request. They all come with a bag of kettle potato chips and a fork; there are condiments and napkins sitting out at the order window. The shop was a small house with one counter window open for ordering. There's handicap parking steps away from the order counter, and restrooms about a 2 min walk away. The house sits across from a tall footbridge which is a nice photo spot, and there's a bench and trash can underneath it. It took about 15 mins to order and receive our items with a line that was about 7 people long! We came on a summer Saturday afternoon and it was lively, there were lots of people strolling around. The surrounding area seems like a resort town with lots of inns and rentals.

Footbridge lobster vs Lobster Shack review…read more Location: Footbridge lobster is located right next door to Lobster shack right by the footbridge. Seating: Footbridge js TAKE OUT ONLY with a big window you walk up to order and pickup. There are some benches nearby you might get lucky or you can stand by the bridge and eat. Lobster shack has seating and bathrooms. Price: On a Monday post lunch hour, I ordered the Lobster roll with clam chowder soup. Foot bridge is cheaper if you buy the combo outside of the lunch special hour compared to lobster shack. If you buy during lunch hour, they both are about similar in pricing. FOOD: The biggest difference between the two was TEXTURE. Footbridge offered a bouncy/chewier texture while Lobster Shack offered a softer easier to pull apart lobster. Secondly, the bread is slightly smaller at footbridge but the meat is 5oz almost singular piece versus lobster rolls multiple smaller pieces. Clam chowder was similar in the sense that footbridge had a thicker milkier consistency like most New England clam chowder while Lobster shack had more meat/substance but thinner liquid base with a somewhat coconut type taste. Both lobsters and clam chowder are unique and tasty in their own way and all boils down to preference. Lobster shack also had a pickle on the side but the price is slightly higher which all in all boils down to whether you like to chew or just wolf down that lobster roll.
