The owners and staff are extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Even though I hardly go here consistently they still recognize me and welcome me with a warm greeting. Adore this local gem! A recent visit on April Fool's day reinvigorated my faith that people still enjoy and have a sense of humor in today's world. I've entrusted FloraDonna's with a myriad of custom treats this year and they have all been timely and phenomenal in quality. My family has some severe dairy allergies and they have been able to make vegan cupcakes and even a vegan smash cake for my son. Sometimes making vegan requests can get some, well patronizing or sarcastic responses from bakeries, but that's never the case with FloraDonna's. They always eagerly take the order and treat my special requests like they would any other customer. In addition, there has never been a cross-contamination issue with the dairy ingredients they serve and that tells me they take the utmost care when preparing specialty items. In Lancaster CA, we have a new dessert shop in town well at least new to me. Usually I wait for the hype to reduce then try everything I like or looks appealing when I go to the shop. I started by looking on line of course to see what's the biz and I couldn't find a menu? I looked at the pictures and I think it was like the 7th picture I saw a cinnamon roll. Once I saw that, I was for sure going! I got the cinnamon roll and a couple of mini cupcakes, a cake pop and an vegan brownie. The cinnamon roll was great. At $5 it's a stretch but I understand why it's that much. Now the mini chocolate was very chocolatey the frosting was so good. The apple pie cupcake was ok. The salted caramel was interesting. And, the vegan brownie was very very interesting. The shop seems to use dark chocolate for their choice of chocolate which was unexpected. In all, I have to say the staff was cordial. Wow. Good tasting products but what a bad experience! We ordered over a week before Halloween for my aunts birthday party and we wanted two dozen of the mini cupcakes. We asked to make sure they would be ready on Halloween day since the party was right behind them on the day after Halloween. We were assured it was no problem and paid for the order that day. They told us the cupcakes would be ready by 4pm on Halloween. We showed up on that say a little after 4 pm and they couldn't seem to find the cupcakes. The lady called the owner and asked and she said she would be in shortly to look. They looked and figured out they never made them!! They apologized and said they would start right away and have them ready on Sunday so we can have them for the party at Don Sal's right behind them. The cashier said the owner lives in the apartments by the bakery and would come in on Sunday to make sure we got them. We were reluctant but said ok and left. About Two hours later....we receive a call saying they can't make the mini cupcakes and would not make them. They said they would make us the medium ones or give us the money back. We had told the, we had the party planned for 17 of us and needed that many but they only offered us 12. My aunt told her that we have 17 people though and it was their mistake so the bakery lady said OK. The manager or owner said they would not be open on Sunday so we would have to pick them up from the chicken place next door. We heard so many stories from every darn employee at that place and they did not seem to happy to even try and make the mistake right. We picked up the cupcakes on Sunday and there were only 12!!!! We didn't even have enough for all of the birthday guests. I have never been so disappointed. I try to support small businesses instead of going to Vons but geez I know their cupcakes are pretty good and cheaper so never again would I order from this place. They are not good at keeping their orders and the employees lie then the owners tell us a whole different story. If they would have just made it right from the start or fixed it right away then all would have been good. If it were my business I would've made the order and got it to the customer. I would have come in on a Sunday to fix the mistake. Maybe they get so much business so they didn't care about our one order but this was so unprofessional I can't even jbelieve it. If you order from this place make sure you call every day to check on it because they can't seem to get this business in order. Vons will be where I order from now on. read more

So went in towards the end of the business day: the help was super friendly and gave great advise on what it is that they do very well. We bought a variety of flavors at what I believe is a reasonable price. The cake of the cup cake was moist and flavorful. The frosting was gross to say the least. They all rated like they were made with shortening instead of butter and had an unpleasant after taste. If the frosting was better it would be a five star but not even my kids wanted to eat them after they had tried the frosting. Pros friendly staff, good flavors, nice cake only draw back was the frosting. Will try again sometime in the future to see if they have made any changes to their frosting recipe. The owner promptly got back to me on my issues and assured me that they only use original butter cream and has invited me to come retry. Thanks for being on top of everything. I discovered this bakery a few months back after the farmers market came back to Lancaster. I love their cupcakes but I ordered a strawberry cake for my baby's 6 month last month and it was a little dry and not what I expected. It was beautifully decorated and exactly what I asked for as far as design. They did give me a few options for how I wanted them to make the cake, so maybe I didn't pick the best option...it was strawberries baked into vanilla cake...I would still recommend this bakery though because the staff is friendly and I do enjoy their red velvet and apple cupcakes. read more

I needed a cake for a Baby shower in 6 weeks and I'd already been turned down by 2 other local bakeries. So I was pleasantly surprised when Nia not only had availability but was also welcoming and helpful in her conversation. She offered me many options for flavors and frosting, which I also had been denied by another bakery. I could hear her passion for baking and it was quite refreshing. It was a relief to have her guide me through making the selections because even though I love cake, I'm only a professional eater haha.
