Our server did a great job explaining several courses our courses. Service was okay, but there times where we felt a tad but neglected, which was ironic sitting at the chef's counter. Each nightly menu could be different. I heard from my companion the oysters are a highlight. We made sure to order the San Sebastian oysters Small plate to share. Also had salad small plate to share. It was a very fresh salad with lychee in it and what I believe was Frisee lettuce. Wow, just wow. A night out here would not be complete without a fine wine selection. I had a glass of red Pinot Noir and it was exquisite. My companion had a glass of white wine which I heard was other worldly good. Lest I forget, if you order alcohol expect a second check: one of our checks was for all the food while our second check was for the alcohol. Wanting to try a lot, we also split the Crudo (rainbow runner fish) small plate. So good. While eating my Half of the Crudo I was reminded to get some sauce. You should enjoy the Crudo, with sauce, too. Main dish was Florida Grouper, poached. Again, so fresh. Dessert was persimmon ice cream with praline. Clever! I admired the food as did my companion. Everything was incredibly fresh, and you can really tell they use high quality ingredients-- not just based on the price, but by how flavorful everything tastes. My avocado toast was easily one of the better ones I've had anywhere, and my friend absolutely loved their burger. I found it pretty amusing that they actually bring out gloves for you to eat the burger with..it's a fun touch, and it makes sense since it's pretty hefty in size! I had the Nutella cappuccino, which was delicious, and my friend got a freshly squeezed orange juice that tasted as fresh as it gets. Overall, such a great find in Midtown and definitely a place I'd go back to.

Friends made the reservation for 10:45. As it happens, the Spice "Brunch" is actually lunch and isn't available until noon, so the regular menu was the only option anyway. Also, their kitchen is closed between 11 and 12, but we were given the option to order breakfast anyway. I'm not sure how much of that snafu is down to the member of our party who made the reservation, and how much is down to the restaurant's management, but regardless, we definitely started off on the wrong foot. When we arrived, initially the only indoor seating was right next to the floor to ceiling windows. Great view but BRIGHT and HOT! Thankfully, a table closer to the center of the room became available and we relocated. We started with a round of Bloody Marys. They came with a cute little single serve bottle of Tabasco so you could adjust the heat. I wish they had come with an airline bottle of vodka, because they were NOT very strong! Two of us had the vegan skillet and two had various eggs benedict (crab and smoked salmon, I think). The food was good! I'm not a big breakfast fan, but this was nicely savory and just filling enough without causing food coma. The service was just OK. The acoustics in the room are horrible, so I could only really have a conversation with the person sitting next to me (not across the table) and it was next to impossible to hear the server. We were also brought the bill for another table and it took a while to get that corrected. All in all, the room is gorgeous, the view is gorgeous, the food is overpriced but decent. Not in a hurry to go back, but glad I went!

The food and service were both fantastic. It's definitely not flashy or overly fancy, but it had exactly the right vibe for my partner and me. We ordered the mollejas, empanadas de choclo, and skirt steak with fries and everything was a 10/10. I'm pretty picky when it comes to restaurants, especially when it comes to food quality, so I was genuinely impressed with everything we ordered. The mollejas were incredibly flavorful, and the empanadas were fresh and delicious. And then came the skirt steak... wow. Cooked to a beautiful medium, it was tender and packed with flavor. The fresh-cut fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. Our server, Flor, was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and attentive, and the rest of the staff was just as wonderful. They were constantly checking in, clearing plates as we finished, and our food came out quickly without ever feeling rushed. We absolutely loved the experience and would happily come back.
