Short version - price and quality were good. We had a significant non-floor problem that cost FD real money to fix, and they did it. Buy with confidence. Long version - Our sales guy, Steve E. was quite knowledgeable and easy to work with. He brought a wide selection of products, was not rushed, and applied no material pressure to close the deal. We got a good price compared to market after some minor negotiation. We had carpet and hardwood being installed. Outbound communication could have been better, but we got all the information we needed when WE called them. Hardwood installation crew did excellent work, accommodated our schedule, and worked quickly. They overcame a previously installed problem discovered when the existing tile was removed without additional charge or complaining. Moved and replaced furniture carefully. Communication was excellent. Carpet guys came a day after. This crew was not as strong. Sloppier with the furniture, less communicative, a little odd. They did good work though, and got it done in good time. It's been down for a couple of weeks now, and everything is solid. No seams, no pull back. However, as evidence of their sloppiness, they hit my very large, recently purchased 4k television with a roll of carpet. It scratched the screen and frame significantly. I noted it on the paperwork, but fully paid for the install, against my better judgement. However, after a few rounds of back and forth about repair etc., FD just cut me a check for the cost of a replacement unit, to my surprise. These things usually end up with a lot of delay, BBB complaints, and no results. Instead, they fixed it with cash money in hand. They kept their word about customer satisfaction being paramount. As they old saw goes, it's all about how a company RESPONDS to an issue, as they are bound to occur. I will 100% buy from them again and recommend them because when the it came down to cutting a four digit check or having an upset client, they cut the check. Pretty rare thing these days. read more

Flooring Direct was one of the companies we had come out when we were replacing our floor. Scheduling and the initial consultation went very well apart from their representative asked who else we were talking to and then badmouthed the other companies for a few minutes. For us, Floor Direct did not have the color flooring we wanted, so we considered settling for one that was close. However, another company had the exact color and gave us a better quote. We made the decision quickly and let Floor Direct's representative know. He texted back asking what happened, and I decided to just leave it. In about an hour he called, and I explained my husband and I had made the final decision, and I thanked him for coming out. He got more irritated and continued to ask why we seemed like we were interested and now we weren't. I didn't want to debate it with him, so I just said thank you and that we had made our decision. He said that it didn't make sense and then he hung up on me. I'm sure it is a good company but be okay if someone goes another way. read more

Revised review- Although my first experience with flooring direct was awful, that experience was due to one very unprofessional salesman who is no longer with the company. I received an email from the owner of the company within 30 minutes of posting my initial review. I had a knowledgeable and professional salesman at my house the next day and upgraded carpet and padding ordered the same day at no cost to me. Any company willing to take responsibility for their employees poor behavior and promptly fix their mistakes is good with me. All is forgiven and I can recommend using flooring direct. read more

***update*** In the end, Flooring direct did come and replace all the carpet to fix the issue noted below. They also took care of all other concerned that were addressed. Despite the long time it took to get fixed, I am satisfied with product and flooring direct has follow up a year later to make sure all concerns are still performing to my satisfaction and fixed additional concerns I had. Overall I am a satisfied customer. ***update*** We are soon to be going on 6 months without our carpet issue resolved. Carpet manufacturer had inspection of carpet done at least 2 weeks ago and was told we would be hearing from flooring direct within 7 - 10 days. During this whole process, flooring direct has not initiated any communication on where things are in the process of getting this taken care of. I have always had to call in order to get update and continue progress toward solution. Worst customer service experience ever! I would avoid this company at all cost. We had carpet installed at end of May 2019. Installation seemed to go smooth, however, after it was done all seams were extremely visible. I called and talked with Brian (installation manager) and the subcontractors were sent back out to fix the issue. They were unable to fix it and subsequently I asked for another subcontractor to come instead as I was unsure if issue was carpet or installation problem. Second subcontractor came and indicated they have seen same issue with this carpet before and there is no way to fix. He indicated that I should be hearing from flooring direct about it in the next couple days. I never heard so I called them. Not sure why flooring direct would sell a carpet with known issue. Finally got ahold of Brian again to see what next steps would be, as flooring direct had never reach out to me to ask if I was satisfied with the "fixes". Brian indicates they would reach out to manufacturer and file claim and will get back with me. It has now been 4 months since the installation and I once again had to reach out to them as they never called back and no one is management is available, is on the other phone, or in the field and never get a call back. This has been a horrible experience and issue is still not fixed. read more

Thank you flooring direct for our beautiful wood floors! We highly recommend this company. Michael our sales rep was excellent and gave us several options to replace the carpet on the stairs and the entire upstairs of our home which included two bedrooms, hallway, game room, and media room. The entire process was seamless. From the time we ordered our floors to beginning installation was about two weeks. Of course it depends on the manufacture you chose. They have a HUGE selection, so I got just what I wanted. They came to my house with several of the kind I suggested I would want. You can also go to their showroom and see thousands of choices, wood, ceramic, linoleum, stone. They measured my house and did all the furniture moving for me - putting it all back, as well. Gorgeous Wood flooring installed by very easy going professional s who worked hard were polite and cleaned up messes as they went along and at the end of every day. Working with these guys was A snap- I'm thinking of hiring them for my next flooring project- the salesman Mark Lewis was extraordinarily helpful he drove 6 hours on a weekend just to show us an additional flooring sample- I will buy floors from him again probably this year when we get our bedroom/bathroom/closet remodeled. Our experience with Flooring Direct has been very disappointing. Flooring Direct has routinely lost records from our meetings and has canceled appointments without giving any advance notice. A small floor repair project that should have been done very quickly has taken several months now, largely because Flooring Direct has not been organized throughout the process. After missing lots of time from work to meet with installers who may or may not show up, we are very frustrated. Additionally, the installers got wood glue all over our floor. Our "beautiful" new floor is speckled dots of wood glue. When people come into our home, they ask, "What happened? Are those scratches... stains? Did you guys have more damage?" If you are considering Flooring Direct, I would suggest that you save your time and go with another company. ----------------------------------------------------- Update - Flooring Direct came out and fixed the wood glue. The floor looks good now, but the overall experience was terrible. I'd suggest you find someone else. read more

Very happy we chose Flooring Direct to install new hardwood floors in our home and new beautiful carpeting in our master bedroom. We had a great experience with Flooring Direct twice in the past 8 months. We had two rooms of carpet installed 8 months ago, and two more rooms this summer. The ordering experience was great. Knowledgeable but not pushy salesman came to our home with many samples, and got accurate measurements quickly. Scheduling the install date was easy, and install happened within a week, not a month+ in the future like other companies we had received quotes from. The installers were also great on both occasions. Curteous, quick, and quality work! We will likely have a tile project later this year or next year, and will not hesitate to call Flooring Direct for that work as well! read more

We had 3 bedrooms and 1 living space re-carpeted. Overall, we are happy with the quality of the product. The installation was quick and as painless as can be reasonably expected. Our living space had an upgraded pad prior to replacement. We pointed this out as a priority and were promised that the replacement pad would be comparable or better. After installation, we did not feel that the new pad in this room was comparable. We contacted our salesman and were put in touch with a manager. Ultimately, they were unable to help us. Attempts to contact the owner, Dan, directly proved to be quite challenging. Once we finally made contact though, he apologized and was quick to resolve the issue. Overall, it took about 10 weeks of persistent communication via email & phone. Without that, I'm not sure we would have seen it resolved. In the end, we are satisfied but just wish the padding issue would have seen a quicker resolution. read more

We had Flooring Direct install LVP in our entire house almost 3 years ago before the pandemic. After about a year, we noticed the edges of the LVP lifting but due to the pandemic, didn't contact them at that time. We did contact them in Feb. of this year and after many calls, finally got someone to come out and look at the floor. This person said that the problem was definitely due to poor installation on their part and he would get back to us with the solution. After many calls and texts, we got a response that since it was past the 2-year warranty we would have to pay for them to come out and fix their shoddy workmanship. I am beyond frustrated that they apparently don't really stand by their work. We didn't contact them earlier due to concerns about covid and now when we contacted them, they dragged their feet about even coming out to inspect the problem. When they finally did they admitted it was their fault that the flooring wasn't installed properly. It was only 8 months past the warranty. They tell us that we can pay them to come out and fix the problems and they can schedule it quickly, but even then when we asked how much it would cost we got no response to our texts. We have been ghosted. This has been ongoing since February and is beyond frustrating. We decided to hire Flooring Direct because of their positive reviews and they were members of "Good Contractors" but they have definitely not lived up to my expectations of quality or even customer service. I do not recommend that you use them for any flooring installation since they obviously have a quality control issue and aren't willing to stand behind their work. read more

My sales Rep Hiro get a 5 star and the pricing was great but, something went wrong and Direct Flooring charged my credit card before I agreed on which flooring I wanted. Also, the contractor they sent out was a professional installer did a great job. I know my furniture is not the highest end furniture but, I paid hard earned money for it. The contractor wasn't careful handling my furniture and really ding up some of my furniture and made a lot of scuff and ding on my walls and doorway entries. read more

If you want to deal with people who don't show up on time, who start the work prior to receiving and confirming the material, who won't take blame for anything and just blame their supplier for their wrongdoings, blame the construction business for late delivery, someone who you have to follow up with all the time, someone who don't cleanup after, someone who can't turn things off after use and just leave them running, who won't lock your doors when they leave for the day, and someone who violate their contract by placing charges on your credit card prior to the completion of the job.... this is the company you should choose for your flooring. read more

Removed water damaged solid wood flooring, scraped, and removed all floor glue, removed all debris and installed new floor tile in a "pin wheel" pattern, and stained and installed new wood base trim. The sales contact Michael Potash responded to my request for quote within a day of my first contact. Mike was punctual to all appointment times. Mike was a good listener, very knowledgeable and professional. The Flooring Direct work team arrived exactly on time as scheduled and were prepared and started immediately to work. The installers worked in a consistent, productive and very professional and courteous manner throughout both work days they were on site. Work was completed in a craftsman-like manner, which is evidence of the installer team's skills and experience. Both of the work crew were very considerate of our home during the entire project. At the end of day on this project all areas were completely cleaned, any material and tools were left in an uncluttered manner. The project was completed a day ahead of the estimated time frame which greatly lessened any disruption to our home. This is the first time I have used a company or contractor to do work for which the work crew and their quality and installation craftsmanship met or exceeded my personal expectations. We decided to replace our kitchen floor after some water damage that occurred with a defective refrigerator. After looking around for a few days we finally decided on floor direct we like the material and the yelp reviews that we saw online. Floor direct started our floor job on Ash Wednesday they promised us it would take two days to complete. After starting the job they informed us that they needed one more day to complete the job. On the third day of the job, they informed us that they ran out of grout and could not complete the job as promised. They said they will return and complete the job in one more day... Needless to say I got an early morning call the next day they informed me that they could not find the correct grout color and I would have to wait until Monday morning before they could acquire the grout needed to complete my job. Well, today is Saturday I have guest coming over and I have a floor that's half complete I was promised that the floor would be done in two days, but it has turned into a 5+ Job. I would caution anyone about the time parameters given by this company concerning the completion time for a job. I would also make note that this company wants to be paid for the job before the job is complete. read more

My husband and I recently chose Flooring Direct to install laminate flooring throughout our home. We received quotes from several other flooring companies, but chose Flooring Direct because of their reasonable prices. Overall, we are very satisfied with our decision. During instillation, we were notified that there would be a short delay because there was not enough flooring ordered. This incident was the only thing that made our experience less than perfect. Other than this one occurrence, the rest of the process ran smoothly from start to finish. If you decide to go with this company you need to get everything in writing even down to the most mundane details--things that you would think as the most basic. My hardwood floor refinishing has been a nightmare, they damaged my house, didn't do all the work that they were contracted to do. I was told after the job that it could not be done. If you do decide to go with them you need to get everything in writing including specifics about everything. A two line job order will not protect you and your house from their collection tactics. They use the legal system and a very aggressive law firm, which under Texas Law, allows them to put lien on your house. My advice based on my hardwood floor issues are don't do unless absolutely necessary and be very meticulous about what you want and get it in writing. read more

Terrible Terrible Terrible - I am not sure all theses people really did business with Flooring Direct. We ordered tile, paid half down. The workers took the existing tile out and said it would cost $900 more to complete the job. What a disaster! They said they would have to remove everything to the sub flooring and start from scratch. We talked with several people and " "trusted" their explanation. The tilers spent 4 hours patching the existing floor and then laid the new tile. We questioned this to not avail. Very stressful and extra expensive. The floor cost us 1/3 more than expected and the workers scratched my new hardwood floor and chipped the bedroom dresser. NEVER do business with this company. read more

I want to start by saying that Daniel and the guys who actually perform the work are great! Steve, our sales guy was also awesome. However, the buck stops there. The installation "manager" Brian is terrible and has ruined our entire experience with this company. Due to our experience with him, we will NOT be recommending this company. We have a couple of small areas in our grout that are cracking after 3 weeks and after repeated messages left for him, he will NOT return our phone call. The office has also started to ignore our emails. Very unhappy, especially considering the amount of money we spent. This is NOT good customer service. read more

The owner has it backwards. He did NOT follow up with me until I posted comments nearly a month after the job was completed. Now he acts concerned due to the posts. Customers are put in tough positions trying to get cooperation and the job done but not being able to inspect the work until completion. Make no mistake. I had an expert inspect the tile work. Then I posted my comments. The owner called me afterwards. I returned his call and have not heard from him since. He is attempting to discredit my posts and not have to resolve any issues. Buyer be very careful when using them. Have an expert present or use someone else. read more

We had carpeting removed from our 3rd floor of our 4 story townhome and replaced with engineered wood. Hiro did our estimate and was very thorough. He even came back a second time to re-evaluate another option due to the engineered wood being less thick that the hardwood at the top of our stairs it would but up against. His alternative solution actually reduced the cost of the estimate some. The planks were ordered and came in quickly and they were able to work with my schedule to install them. It took a little over 2 days to install and they look awesome. The installers were prompt, courteous and professional. They had scratched the back of the front door bringing in the plywood for the subfloor as it was a tight maneuver in the foyer. I didn't say anything when I noticed it, but the next day, they had touched it up. They really worked had as they had to keeping going up and down 2 flights of stairs from the garage to the 3rd floor. They never complained or made any comments about it. I had a terrible experience engaging with Flooring Direct. They were quick to send a project manager to my home to assess the work needed on the carpet in my bedroom. The project manager gave me a quote for two potential solutions to the issue I was having - one was to stretch the carpet in my room and the other was to replace a small section of the carpet if I could find the original carpet from the builder. After finding the carpet from the builder I called to schedule the work and reached a woman who looked up my info, verified everything and said I'd get a call back to schedule the work. I heard nothing so I reached out again several weeks later with the SAME experience. I finally called and spoke with the Sales Manager who told me they don't do carpet repairs (even though the project manager suggested this and gave me a quote!) but they would do this one given the circumstances and she would email me the agreement by end of day to sign and send back to her to initiate the work. She gave me the final amount due and verified my email address. It's over a week later and I still have heard nothing. I've engaged now with 5+ people from the company with no follow through. The office staff I worked with, particularly Kelly, couldn't have been more helpful. My salesperson changed due to a company change and they honored his promises. I was very impressed. We wanted to replace the carpet in all 4 bedrooms of our house and called around to several different places. Drew with flooring direct came out and was absolutely wonderful. He was very professional and extremely nice. He genuinely cares about his clients and it shows. Their prices were great and we decided to use them. The day of the install they came out on time and installed the carpet beautifully. They moved all the furniture, ripped up the old carpet and pad, installed the new stuff and put everything back where it was. They even did it in under 5 hours. All in all it was a great experience and we would highly recommend. As a side note, we did have 4 other estimates and flooring direct was heads and tails above the rest in regards to professionalism and quality. My wife and I had a great experience with Flooring Direct. We had them come out, remove tile throughout house and then install hardwoods and carpet. The sales representative, Tom Woods, was great to work with. He was very thorough and walked us through the whole process. We had to delay the work for a month due to issues with closing on our new home. He was understanding and very patient. The workers who came out to remove tile and install wood floors were great. On time and very professional. They were able to knock out everything in a few days. The carpet installers came out the day afterwards and knocked out the bedrooms in a few hours. I hired this company to replace the carpet in my house in late 2013. The carpet was fine, but they DESTROYED all of my baseboards, which I pointed out to the installer at the time. There was a language barrier here that the owner denies and I didn't hear anything for some time. I then sent the Dan photos and a cost estimate of replacement from a local contractor. Long story short, Ratcliff refused to replace the baseboard and even treated to put a lien on the house for non-payment. DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM. I paid Ratcliff to go away and hired someone else to fix the baseboard. He is not "manically obsessed" with customer service. What a joke. read more
