Our install was not the best experience due to the distributor cancelling our order for some…read morereason. We picked out our flooring two months in advance, and Abraham said that the distributor must have assumed that it was canceled because the install was not until two months later. I did not hear from them in the weeks leading up to our install so I called a week in advance to see if we were still good to go and they assured that everything was still set for the date we picked. Anyways, my husband had taken the week off of work and they only had enough engineered hardwood flooring to do one room. They went ahead and did the carpet in the bedrooms by Friday of that week. They didnt start on the rest of the house until the following Monday. So we had to takeoff work again, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The workers showed up on time on Monday to rip up the flooring. They didn't show up until noon on Tuesday to install the new flooring so they were still working up until 8 o'clock that night and were still not finished by that evening so they had to come back out Wednesday morning to finish. Needless to say this drug on for almost 2 weeks with our house being turned upside down, not being able to get to our stuff or Cook in our kitchen. I requested that Abraham hire a cleaning service to clean our house because we both had to go back to work and didn't have time to put it back together until the following weekend. He agreed and he did send someone out the next day and they did an impeccable job cleaning the house and getting rid of the dust. I will say had the distributor not canceled our order, we probably would've had a better experience and it would've been done in a timely manner. I think that it's a reputable place and they're honest people. They could work on their communication skills a little better. Would I recommend them again yes because overall the work was good and they did try to make it right after the mistake happened.

He also helped with another issue in the house, a kitchen floor chip, at no cost. He was also friendly with my young kids who were asking him a ton of questions while he worked on it: babysitting and a repair! Definitely recommend for carpet and also just general repair needs.

What were we to do! We went first thing in the morning to Mr. Evans and explained the situation. We tried to select another carpet from his in store stock to no avail due to that large quantity and specific color required. He suggested that he could order another carpet from his suppliers. However, we needed the facility to be ready for our December 31 Church launch and the earliest possible delivery time frame was into the New Year. I reluctantly asked Mark Evans if we could cancel the order. He immediately answered, "Sure" and proceeded to refund our deposit without a hint of annoyance. In addition, he selflessly gave us some very important advice. While we were not able to buy our carpet from Evans Carpet this time due to time constraints, color and available stock, we will definitely use Evans Carpet in the future and recommend Mark Evans to others. Bad experience with First Floors and their Vice President, who may also be the owner's son, Damon…read moreDobson. We were looking to have over 1,000sf of hardwood installed in 3 rooms and a hallway, finished and hand scraped to match existing flooring. The company came to our house, measured, and Damon sent us a quote. I responded to Damon, asking when the company could get started. Additionally, because I view this as a fairly sizable investment in our home, I had questions about the installer who would be doing the work. Specifically, I wanted to know whether the installer had experience hand scraping, as I know that process can be difficult and time consuming. I also asked if Damon had any references for the installer, or even any pictures of recent work--perhaps a bit high maintenance, but I though it was a reasonable request. Damon simply responded that they could start in 3-4 days. He did not address the questions I had re his installer. I knew that 3-4 days wasn't possible, because wood has to acclimate in the house for longer than that, so I asked him about this, and also repeated the questions re his installer. He condescendingly replied, "but you only asked when we can start the job, and we can start in 3-4 days." Once again, no response re his installer. So I asked about the installer and his experience again. Damon's response was "We do 1,000 hand scraped floors a year, sir." I explained that I was less concerned with the number of floors the company installed, and more concerned with the specific installer First Floors would hire to do the work. So I asked him again. His response was that the company had done a "banker's house" and also a former president's house. At this point, I told him I'd love to use his company, but that I needed more details on who the installer would be, specifically his experience hand scraping. I again asked for recent references. Damon responded "I have come to the realization we are not the company for you." I found the contact info for the owner, Richard, and emailed him, explaining that I thought the resistance to my questions was bizarre, especially considering the fact that we're in uncertain financial times. No response. I've owned a few houses, done lots of work on all of them, and have never been in a situation where a company is not willing to provide info on the people who will actually be doing the work in our home. I think that's highly suspicious. Also, the fact that he was ready to install in 3-4 days, in a humid climate like the Dallas area, is problematic in my experience. I can't speak to the quality of their work, but their customer service is garbage.

They were super fast to respond to my initial request, less that an hour and I sent the request through yelp fairly late in the evening. David came and gave us our quote explained everything to us in detail (both positive and things that could happen to prepare for ie if we needed to replace some of the floor) answered all our floor questions and then some. (FYI he's a contractor too which worked out for us as we bought a home that needs a little more love) We were in a huge time crunch to get everything done before we moved into our new home. We called on a Monday, he was able to meet us Thursday, we signed on Friday. We had a week in-between to get a few other projects done (we painted and weren't especially careful with the floors) Noe and his crew were there the next week and it took them one day to get everything sanded and the first coat of stain on. Even with just one coat of stain it looked a MILLION times better! Who knew we had beautiful floors under all that grime! All in all it took them three days to do everything, and two days for our floors to dry. David explained how to best care for our floors and I couldn't be happier. Our bathroom is up next and we've already got David and Noe in mind!!! Also shout out to Hailey as well who took my calls and texts and was super quick to respond to us as well in scheduling. Thanks Texas Best Flooring!!!

Exceptional Quality: All facets of our Flooring installation…read more Having any type of floors installed is an involved process with many phases and each phase must be completed exactly right. In terms of securing a contractor and as a standard of practice, I would never suggest just getting one quote, but in this rare case I can state unequivocally a person can exclusively select Texas Best Flooring Company and not have to look elsewhere. This company and our experience is the exception and not the rule. Keep in mind, there is a great deal that goes into installing a floor. It encompasses many steps to do it correctly and it is a trade that requires precision. When we purchased our house in 2016 it had been a remodel with one of the rooms having hardwood floors that were not sealed and secured properly. Consequently, there were issues with moisture that exacerbated the original installation. Something a buyer could not detect initially. Fast forward to March 2026 and we interviewed two contractors who claimed from their website they had years of experience installing floors. I am sure those contractors had years of experience installing floors *incorrectly.* With Texas Best Flooring, David using specific instruments for moisture detection and moisture movement was able to analyize the data and then ascertain the root cause issues along with the subsequent impacts to the previous floor. What followed was one of the best proposals we had seen from a contractor that offered a comphrehensive solution for our floor. This proposal explained the methods and scope of work necessary to accomplish this installation the right way! The way it should have been done the first time around. The thoroughness of this proposal was indicative of the work that was to follow. From the grinding of the concrete slab phase, leveling, buffing, application of specialized expansion sealants, adhesives etc...the hardwood was ready to be installed. Every step of the process was completed with utmost quality and attention to detail. Their customer service is highly knowledeable and a pleasure to work. And David's technical team is cordial, considerate, clean and professional throughout. To summarize, Texas Best Flooring Company is a turnkey operation that provides exceptional services from cradle to completion. We will be recommending David (Texas Best Flooring Company) to everyone we know and if we encounter someone talking about needing a floor installed we will let them know as well to contact David and not waste time going elsewhere.
