I love the store's policy of letting you return pretty much anything that you don't end up using. This made the planning much simpler - we just bought everything that we thought that we might need, used what we liked the most, and returned the rest without any hassle at all. When we had a problem with some of the mosaic back splash tiles not matching (a manufacturing error, not the tile shop's) the staff bent over backwards to make certain that we got we needed to finish the project in the two days we had left with the contractor. We would definitely go to them again for our tiling projects!

Quality Kitchen Remodeling!…read more Floors & Kitchen in Sterling, VA completely remodeled our 1990s-vintage kitchen, including tearing out poorly designed pantries and re-positioning the appliances to provide a better cooking workflow. We had a pleasant, professional, and flawless experience from start to finish. The second-best part was that Ray's crew started on time and finished within the three-week schedule - amazing! This was a massive job - starting with knocking out walls to open up the kitchen and enlarge storage space, removing false fronts at the ceiling to allow ceiling height cabinets, and shifting appliances to provide a more natural workflow for cooking. Then sanding, priming, and painting the walls and trim and refinishing the hardwood floor. A total kitchen makeover. Ray worked with us patiently and provided objective guidance as we selected our cabinets, countertops, and all of the bright-work. He developed design plans where we could see different attributes of the cabinets and changes to the workflow - and made changes in real time. Ray was also quick to point out the advantages and disadvantages of different cabinet manufacturers and countertop components. From the outside, Floors & Kitchens looks small, but Ray has a wide variety of kitchen cabinets and flooring, and can get products from anywhere. I would not go anywhere else for ultra-high quality kitchen remodeling and re-design. I paid a very reasonable price for truly top-notch work - and that's a combination that is hard to find anywhere.

I used this company to redo all the floors in my new townhouse, I wanted to support a small local…read morebusiness. No follow up, I had to reach out for updates. I ordered all my flooring a month in advance and was told no problem for my target installation dates. I stressed that timing was crucial since it was a full renovation and the floors would be the last piece before I moved in. I literally booked the movers based on our agreed upon timeframe. When I called to confirm that everything was on track, oh yeah one of the floors I selected was out of stock, come reselect. I was reassured that the time frame was no problem. I called again the week before to give hard dates, and now there are issues. When I reminded him this was not an option, we agreed to have two of the three levels installed, causal flooring in the basement, carpet on the third floor and stairs, with the hardwood on the main level being pushed a few days. The installation of engineered flooring in the basement is not great, the flooring is not tight, the carpet installation was fine. The main floor hardwood was a nightmare. They got to the end and found a problem that meant they needed to pull some of it up and "level" the subfloor. According to the owner it would be an extra $500 and they would level the subfloor with new plywood, etc. they were supposed to do this work the day before the movers, they no showed. Then they were supposed to do it the morning of the move, they showed up saw workers in the kitchen and left to comeback in the afternoon. That meant they had my floor open while the movers were trying to get furniture in. Their fix was cutting the plywood, literally hacking at the floor joists ( there were chunks of wood in my storeroom underneath) and putting back the old plywood. Of course there was not enough flooring to complete the job so it was almost another month before the job was finished. I also pointed out the excessive use of nails on the step edges, the owner told be they would fill them and I would not notice. He lied.

The tub in the master was converted into a walk-in shower. New electrical and ventilation were added. The owner Justin was great to work with, communicated almost daily, and stopped by the house frequently to check on the progress of the work and answer any questions or concerns I had. Selvin the team lead is a true craftsman, knows his stuff, and clearly takes pride in the quality of his work. Others on the team worked equally hard and they have all been with Calabrese for at least 10 years. This review is for our recent experience while shopping for carpet replacement services. Sasan has…read morebeen extremely accommodating since day 1. He was flexible and quick to respond with availability for a site visit. While walking through the home, he gave us several money saving tips and advice on how to replace the carpet with a durable but cost effective option for our rental. He was so patient throughout the entire process. We were supposed to get back to him within the same week with our decision of whether we would move forward or not. There was a miscommunication on our part where i thought my husband was going to book the job, and my husband was under the impression that i was taking the lead on booking the carpet replacement. By the time we both realized the ball got dropped, it had been ONE month since Sasan visited our property. He responded with grace and patience. He gave us absolutely no "attitude" for the delay in response. Instead he made it a point to work around our schedule so we could move forward without any problems or delays. SECOND PART: What really impressed us is Sasan's level of professionalism. Due to unexpected circumstances, we decided to cancel the carpet replacement job one week before installation. Instead of being difficult, Sasan was still just as polite and understanding on the phone and via email. He returned our full deposit within 3 business days of us canceling the job. Not once did Sasan make us feel guilty or accuse us of wasting his time. Although we did not go through with the rental property carpet replacement, we are confident Sasan will be our POC for carpet upgrade in our new home AND I have already provided my mother with his info for her SFH carpet replacement job. Again, this review is for our "experience" only, BUT it shows us this company is dedicated to customer satisfaction through: professionalism, integrity, and reliability.

In July/August, we experienced a ceiling leak that caused significant damage throughout our home, impacting two bathrooms, the playroom, entryway hallway, and laundry room. After water mitigation and demolition were completed, we were left needing extensive repairs and full remodels of the affected areas. We used KDC to renovate our Kitchen, Master Bathroom, and fix some other issues around the house that involved tiling, plumbing, drywall, etc. We first started with KDC on the kitchen, where we had them install all new countertops, and replace our cabinets, basically a whole kitchen renovation. They handled everything and had people for plumbing, tiling, painting, electrical. Everything was handled for us with minimal involvement other than picking out materials. It was one of the easiest experiences where we picked out what we wanted in their showroom and had their project manager coming to the house to review progress on a consistent basis. With how smoothly the kitchen went, we had KDC fix our guest bathroom where things went just as smooth, and then do a whole renovation of the master bathroom. Similarly, we picked out all of the materials in their showroom and the results were amazing. The quality and craftsmanship is very detailed, with new cabinets, tiling, moving different fixtures to new locations, and installation of everything flawlessly. They even alerted us to a cheaper countertop option that still met our needs. All in all, it seems like KDC worked on half the house and did some in a timely and expert way. We've recommended them to friends and happy to do so for others. It was refreshing trusting someone to do a great job with minimal supervision and we're thrilled with the results.
