We were looking for vinyl flooring for a small home office. We met Tony Rossi on a Saturday at the Goleta store. We told him our needs. He explained to us the qualities of various types of vinyl plank flooring. We chose the "Palm Beach" pattern vinyl planks. Before the planks would be put on, Tony explained, an "underlayment" pad would be put on the bare concrete floor. He talked about the issues of moisture in the concrete pad and the ways to defeat its effects. He was knowledgeable. He talked about the qualities of the materials he could install. We liked the thoroughness of his explanations. He was able to come out to the house that same day to measure. On Monday, he gave us a very good bid and we accepted. The next day, installer Juan Jimenez came to our house on time. He was professional and worked hard. He did a great job of re-installing the baseboards over the vinyl planks. He took great care with our house and his products. Juan stayed for about 3 hours, tidying up as he worked. He was focused and pleasant. Within an hour of the completion of the job, Tony Rossi called us to make sure we were happy with the installation. We definitely were. I would highly recommend Tony Rossi and Flooring 101 in Goleta for the good product, great communication, great price and fine installation. Five stars. Josh & company were very friendly at the outset. However when cracks my kitchen flooring started appearing, I had him out to look and take photos. That was last September. I have extra tiles so it's not a supply issue. I just want someone to come and take out the damaged tiles and replace them. I've called, I've walked into and spoken face to face, and the excuse continues to be they're waiting for the claims people. More and more tiles are cracking to the point that I am leaning toward going to another company and having the entire floor replaced. They give a 25 year guarantee, but don't hold your breath they'll honor it. I am beyond upset. read more

Teri was kind enough to come to our house that same afternoon to measure and matched a price we had from another vendor (who was not able to install that week). If you don't want carpet installed in a timely fashion, and you want to reschedule your appointments numerous times for every excuse under the sun, then flooring 101 is your place. They left us in the lurch so many times, I have lost count. Excuses ranged from "our truck broke down" to "we overbooked for Santa Barbara" to "I wrote down the wrong phone number"...continued for months. We had them install our carpet initially through Costco last year, and they are the merchant contracted with them, but we needed some repairs, replacement work done due to water damage and it has taken MONTHS to get this done. A joke. We live here and each time they cancel on us we have to move furniture back into a room we spent hours clearing out. Can you tell I'm fed up??? Everything went great from the time I was greeted by Erick when I walked into the showroom. I was shown the different options of what I had in mind. He was very thorough in explaining about the different products. He set up an appointment to come measure my house and was right on time. I went up to the office to get the estimate for the work to be done it set up an appointment for installation. I was given a confirmation call the day before the installation. I had a 10 o'clock appointment and received a call at 8 o'clock and asked if it would be OK if they came earlier because they had a cancellation. I said sure, they told me they could be there in 30 minutes and we're there at 8:30 on the button. The installers were very friendly and very efficient. I had a large living room and a bedroom with steps and a large closet to be carpeted. They did an excellent job and we're done in three hours. I was concerned about the bedroom with the steps in the closet but they both came out beautiful. After the installers left you would never know they were there they vacuumed the new carpet and removed any remnants of the old one. One thing I would like to add that the estimate I was given was the amount that I paid no ups no downs. I would highly recommend this business. read more

Worst flooring business in Santa Barbara ever! These people came out and measured. We did not hear from them again a month-and-a-half want to buy I called they had completely lost our order. They finally came out installed the flooring and had the wrong end caps, according to their installer. They completely forgot about that until we contacted them a month or so later then they cannot try to install once it didn't match and demanded that we take ones that we didn't order period to end it all after we paid our bill they tried to charge us extra money after they made all the mistakes. These people are disorganized and dishonest do not use them. read more

Flooring 101 installed their "Oceanside" Luxury Vinyl Plank throughout my house. The flooring quality is outstanding and I shopped around and did extensive research on flooring before I selected their flooring. The workmanship by the installers was excellent. They also removed the original tile flooring in the bathroom so that the flooring would be level with the rest of the house. It was a tough, messy job, but they did it without complaint and didn't make a mess in the rest of the house. Kudos to Luis who did the bathroom tile demolition and carried all the very heavy tile debris out, as well as the floor installation. Jose also did an excellent job in the installation and his baseboard work is perfection. They cleaned everything up afterward and removed all the debris and old flooring. They even swept my driveway, which they were using as a work area, afterwards. Tony the salesman/manager was fantastic. He personally (in person) checked on the installation before, during and after the installation. Also kudos to the installation foreman, Alex. I am pleased with the the new flooring and I'm very impressed with their product, workmanship and customer service. Tony and his team are amazing. read more

The salespersons were courteous and knowledgeable. The showroom had a large selection of floors. We thought we made the right choice until the time of installation. There was confusion about parts needed. The installers did not bring necessary tools and had to borrow from us without asking first. When they finish, they forgot to put these tools back. We still don't know where these small tools are -- perhaps on their truck. There was sloppiness throughout the job. I would still recommend shopping for material there, but when it comes to installation, don't be persuaded by the show. Hire someone separately. read more

I had hoped to give my business to a Goleta company but they has been completely unresponsive and we are baffled as to why. We live only a few miles away and selected premium carpet and hardwood to do our entire home. After measuring our home, we didn't hear back from them for over 2 weeks so we went to the store and another salesperson suggested we send a text to our salesman. He responded with a carpet quote that listed the wrong carpet and was one line item with no detail for materials and labor. For the wood flooring project the reply was "I'll have the wood prices tomorrow rep is working on a better price" and "I'll call you tomorrow". Now THREE weeks later and no corrected carpet estimate, no wood floor estimate, no response or phone call. Concerned about the whole project, we had to move on to another company. Ironically, positive yelp reviews led us to Flooring 101 in the first place. read more

We had recently received an invoice from a job that was supposed to be completed 1 1/2 years ago. I called the main branch back and explained that we tried to get in touch with them by speaking to jessica and another time danielle, but nobody called us back. In feb. 2018, we did get a phone msg. so we called back, but were unable to leave a msg. perhaps because it was after hours. We thought maybe they would call back to do a follow up, but that did not happen, until receiving this invoice which they added a 1.5% per month finance charge. i called them again, on 9/24 and spoke with "lisa" who said she's have someone call me. 1 week later, the rep. John called and i spoke with him to get the job completed before paying them. He gave me his cell number and said call anytime to schedule and appt. I tried today, and his mailbox was full and couldn't receive any new messages. Frustrated, i called to speak to the owner, I was told his name is "Jimmy" to get this resolved, but he never called instead i got an argumentative person named "Margerie" who was not helpful at all. I asked if i could speak to the owner, by way of email, voicemail or on the phone and she couldn't help me. She said she can send another rep over to see what they can do. I then asked what can they do in regards to removing the finance charge, she said id have to work that out with the rep. Wow, I am not satisfied with their service at all. Regrettably, I may have to take legal action to get this resolved. read more

Flooring 101 replaced all floor coverings for me last year. Since then I have had to call them back numerous times about the vinyl buckling in kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen floor underlayment was not prepared properly and there is a 4 ft long mark showing through the white vinyl tile. I complained numerous times and the last time was in June when they told me they would come out to make repairs and replace the kitchen tile. They never responded or showed up. I am going to small claims court over this issue. read more
