Homeowners beware. Floorgate, Inc. installed LVP flooring over a damaged subfloor with clear signs of termite and water damage that predated the job. I was never informed of these issues before installation, and I would have paid to fix them if given the opportunity. I didn't realize the problem until after the work was done, when soft, spongy areas began showing up. When I raised concerns, I received only verbal reassurances, no inspection report, no photos, no documentation at all to prove the subfloor had been properly assessed. Floorgate's crew was difficult to communicate with, and it's unclear whether they were even instructed to inspect the subfloor. Professional contractors document their work and this crew did not. Don't assume they'll flag issues that can affect your flooring long-term. If you choose to work with Floorgate, get everything in writing and confirm inspections yourself. We had carpet with ply wood underneath for a bedroom and two closets, after carpet removal we realized the plywood needed to be reinforced which wasn't originally planned but they had no issue doing it and still completing the job in one day. We replaced the carpet with vinyl flooring and The flooring came out so nice and paid attention to detail. They also cleaned up after themselves verwhich was much appreciated. Don't have Floorgate install your vinyl planks! They will smile at you, be pleasant on the phone but want to forget about you. We went through Home Depot for our floor needs, and Floorgate was part of our contract to install vinyl last May. The planks were crackling immediately right after installment. Since then, Floorgate has given us the run around as I have to contact them every time. It is February, and my floors still crackle. I am surprised Home Depot doesn't help us. They pretty much said we were stuck with it. Great customer service, right!? Whatever you do, please don't go through Home Depot with Floorgate to install your flooring. I purchased my carpet at Home Depot and was referred to Floorgate for installation. They did a great job. I got a berber carpet which has a linear pattern and the guy they sent lined everything up so it looks neat and tidy, even on the stairs. He was very diligent and swept up afterwards as well. The only thing is, I had specified during measurement that I wanted a runner on the stairs as opposed to the entire stairway being covered in carpet. This somehow did not get communicated to the installer, which was a huge bummer because not only are the stairs a beautiful maple wood that I had professionally refinished, I also had personally sanded, primed and painted the risers myself!! It took me a whole weekend! Now none of it is even visible :'-( Nonetheless, everything still looks great. I just wish I hadn't spent all that time and money refinishing the hardwood and painting the risers. read more

Honestly I find all these positive reviews to be highly suspect. I had an outrageously BAD carpet installation via Home Depot. SO bad, in fact that my Home Depot said that they had a stack of complaints against this company for serious negligence. THREE!!! Count 'em THREE times they had to come and install/reinstall carpet in our home. The first time was because the installers DAMAGED the carpet while putting the very few pieces of furniture back in place. The SECOND install we had to do some serious cleaning: glue, carpet remnants and more were left behind. Not a bit of care was done. I happen to know that Home Depot is campaigning to have them removed as their installers. This company should have their contractors license revoked, at the least. BEWARE! Do not let these people in your home for anything. read more

Floorgate was assigned by the Tehachapi Home Depot to install the vinyl flooring I bought for my family's mountain cabin. I wanted to eliminate the carpet, since I personally don't understand why anyone would want flooring they can't sweep and mop up. However, I really didn't care how the flooring looked after installation. I was very pleasantly surprised. When I drove up to check the job, just to make sure the vinyl flooring was installed, I saw absolutely no flaws. The flooring looks great! Unfortunately, since I was on a cruise for a week after, I couldn't complete the Home Depot survey in time. But I would definitely recommend Floorgate for any future vinyl flooring installations in Tehachapi. read more

Couldn't be happier with Chris & David, --the installers of our luxury vinyl planks! They were wonderful from beginning to end! They called as asked to tell me when they were 30 min away. They had excellent skills for installing the flooring--and expert ways eliminating unnecessary caulking & sloppy finishing.
