I approached Hoffman at the beginning of March to install a new handrail, newel post, balusters,…read moreand fix a broken step for the primary staircase of my home. Once the work was done, we would have them then install a runner. We were excited to use Hoffman from all of the amazing examples that they shared on social media of staircases and homes they 'claim' to have renovated. The sales team in the store was as you would expect for a boutique mom & pop shop... an air of pretentiousness in a relatively humble environment. After insulting my wife & I by assuming we were looking for a budget-friendly deal, we ultimately were left to search the store and pick out the runner we wanted. After deciding, we scheduled measurements for the following week. As we attempted to leave, the salesperson insisted on following us out into the parking lot to put samples in our trunk, however, I believe this was a further attempt to 'size-up' our budget based on what we drove. Anthony, the third generation in this family-run business, showed up at my house the following week. He was here for approximately 20 minutes, took the measurements, and advised he would be in touch in about a week once all of the materials were in. He advised everything needed to be special ordered. The job was quoted at $4,000. I accepted. One, two, three, then four weeks go by without hearing from Anthony. As it had been a month, I called the store to find out what the cause of the delay was. They advised that the materials were expected to be in at the end of the week, and apologized for the delay. I was completely understandable, as I was just happy to have Hoffman come do the work in the first place. Afterall, the pictures they continued to share on social media looked amazing. I wanted the same in my house. Three more weeks go by, then I get a call from Anthony saying they are ready to start the work. I was thrilled. Anthony's 'team' showed up on a Friday towards the end of April. They demo'd my existing handrail and newel post. As they went to replace the broken step, they realized that Anthony ordered the wrong thickness, and the correct one would have to be special ordered (again). Given that 8 weeks had already passed, and frustrated, I called Anthony and advised rather than ordering 1-custom step, please replace all steps with standard thickness ones. He apologized and advised that the total cost of the project would now be $6,000. This was still well within my budget so we agreed, and the team would be back the following week to continue the work. The team shows up the following week, rips out all of the stairs, and replaces with 'new' ones, and 'finishes' the handrail/newel post. After two coats of stain, Anthony texted me and advised the project was done and we were ready for Carpet. Here's where the story really gets interesting: --Nothing installed was special ordered and is readily available at Home Depot. --Each of the 11 brand-new stairs they installed had scratch marks, pencil marks, or dents. --The newel post had approximately 50 blemishes from improper sanding/staining. --The balusters were installed upside-down! Then corrected via using glue and wood filler to partially cover all of the knicks and holes they just put in the brand-new materials. ---They did not stain the visible undersides of the new steps --They did not stain the backside of the handrail against the wall --Multiple sharp/jagged edges were left exposed --They did not clean-up their worksite, leaving half eaten fruit in my garage. --They used two different types of balusters after they 'fixed' the original mistake. --They did not come with their own sufficient materials and used my personal table saw/miter saw. --I come to discover that the 'team' Anthony sent to my house had not worked for him before, and were effectively unskilled day laborers. --At no point did Anthony ever come to check on the work. Clearly, Anthony/Hoffman contracted this project out, in an attempt to make quick cash off an unsuspecting customer. I called Anthony and told him to come look at the work. Originally, he was very combative and continually corrected the language I was using to describe the work his team did to my house (if the work looks like ..... it probably is). He tried to persuade me to let him come back and try again, but as he already dragged this process on for 2+ months and had his team at my house 5+ times, I was not interested. Given my dissatisfaction and the clear evidence that he had tried to scam me, he fully refunded my deposit and did not charge me for the work. I didn't want to write/post a review but given that Hoffman is still actively advertising their stair 'services', I felt it necessary to share my experience. p.s. the pictures hardly do justice to how poor the work really is.

Tony, Anthony and Ed are very knowledgeable about the products and give realistic picture of how the project will go. They installed our Villa Borehsie flooring on the kitchen/living room level of home during a kitchen remodel. My wife loved for flooring so much that we brought the team back to put the same flooring down in our ground level family room. The install team was great. They worked clean and got the job done in the time that Anthony estimated it would take. I am glad we went with Hoffman floor and home for our flooring needs and expect to see them soon enough when we are ready to do the bedroom level of our home! Thanks guys!

What I really like about the store is that are no pushy sales people walking around the store. Deniz treats you as if you were in his home when you ask for help, looking for a specific type of carpet. I was really surprised at how reasonable the prices were because it looks very high end, which it is to some extent considering the rug are excellent quality. The carpets that I ordered arrived in three days. If you are hesitating because it looks expensive, don't be as you will be very pleasantly surprised. After 2023 renovations of our kitchen, we had some separation between the wood boards and buckling (spring 2024). The initial assessment and estimate with Tom were great - very clear issues and methods for resolution. The team thought the reason for the separation and buckling was due to the kitchen cabinets being placed on top of the flooring rather than allowing the floor to float. They came as scheduled to remove the previous flooring and put the replacement floating bamboo flooring down - same material as the 2023 original. However, they placed one cabinet/side bar on top of the floor after installation, which worried us since we were told that this was the cause for the issue to start. After they "finished", we didn't hear from Paul (our project manager and co owner) for 9 months on this issue (after multiple calls, texts and emails from our side, no response from them). He only reached out because he realized they hadn't invoiced for our final payment -- we were wiling to pay the entire time- just wanted to hear back about the possibly incorrect installation. Paul was rude, not professional, and had horrible communication skills. The floor again separated and buckled only 10 months after they replaced it in 2024- in the exact same place that they "corrected". Since then, it's been 4-5 months of back and forth with Josh- the company owner, long periods of silence and emails ignored (overall terrible customer service), and most importantly, no execution or resolution to either the incorrect installation or repeat issue - no one has returned to our house.

However, their lack of follow up as well as addressing some issues make me not comfortable to recommend them. They were supposed to be at my house for 2 days it ended up being 4. Unfortunately they were shorthanded and sent only 1 contractor for the first day and a half. When the second person came they made it clear that they did not want to work "one more _____ minute than they had to". Clearly not happy with their work situation but I didn't need to hear it. They also did not provide a quote for my landing which was in between 2 sets of stairs so that did not get done. The biggest issue is that there were areas of my floors that needed to be addressed after they left and despite my reaching out numerous times no one ever came out to actually see what the issues were. They wanted me to send pictures which I had done twice before. Once they have your $$ they don't seem to care. Suggestion, if you do choose to use them do not pay in full until after floors are dried and you can fully inspect them.

As we all know, things happen and sometimes things just happen out of our control so I liked that assurance. Plus I had read about their quality and I liked what I saw. I don't believe you need to get custom everything but I also don't believe in buying the cheapest option available to you. This seemed like the perfect compromise. I was able to meet with a designer, and although we weren't changing much in the kitchen, as we were keeping the original layout, he was able to suggest where we could make some visual architectural tweaks to make the kitchen pop more. I very much appreciated that I could see a full sketch on the computer versus a drawing layout. Once I committed there was a deposit and then the remaining half down and the rest upon completion. I did have a hiccup with the crown molding being a different color, but they were able to order the correct one and it was shipped out within a month. However, I had to pay to have my contractor remove the initial molding and put the new molding up. There were also issues with holes not lined for shelving which we just have to live with or at some point commit to making our own holes. This is pretty poor. It has been about 6 months and so far they are holding up.

I found Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath when searching…read moreonline for nearby places I could visit to compare prices to a quote I had already received from elsewhere. After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly. I cannot possibly thank Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath enough for all their hard work. Everyone who has walked into our house cannot stop talking about how beautiful it is and about the quality of the work! And I can never thank Furkhan enough for his insights and suggestions and handling the project with such professionalism as well as following up on every detail to ensure the incredible results we achieved! This is by far the longest review I have ever written. But they are by far one of the best businesses I have ever dealt with so I have to share this information!
