Extremely happy with the service, communication, and installation I received from Carpet World in Paramus. My husband and I worked with both Joe and Fred. Both were very friendly and responsive, guided us on our flooring selection, and coordinated a quick and reliable installation. Oscar and Jeffrey were awesome on the install - 2 rooms of Mohawk RevWood laminate. Done in 1 day, super efficient, clean, and finished everything off with trim. 10/10 experience! I honestly don't think they could have done anything better. Even my husband (who was hesitant about replacing the floors) was absolutely thrilled. Im actually shocked by the negative reviews... but Larry at the store took very well care of me He listened to what i wanted , made suggestions and delivered efficiently and promptly larry is very well mannered and knowledgeable and experienced He was even kind enough to come on HIS day ofd which is my day off as well just to measure for me! He also let me take samples home so i can spend time comparing what pattern would go well w my home As for the day of installment... the installers were super quick and did a flawless job! Turned out way better than i could of imagined! They came morning wanted to buy them Lunch but they finished so quick I didn't even have a chnace to get them lunch So pls check them out dispite the bad reviews because my experience is completely opposite and i never write reviews! Extraordinarily rude salesman. I've never left a negative review for any business but this experience moved me to. My husband and I went in there looking for hardwood flooring, we'd been to several places that day. He flips houses for a living and is doing a new one, his first on the east coast, so we were checking out a whole range of places in NY and NJ. We're looking through the samples of hardwood flooring when a sales guy steps away from some people he's talking to and comes over and asks what we're looking for. This is the verbatim exchange: Husband: I'm looking for engineered 7" wide oak Sales guy: Okay... well, that's what your looking at Husband: Yeah, I love this stuff but I'm looking for something between $5 - $6 per sq foot Sales guy: (eyes widen) You want 7" wide for under six dollars a foot? ENGINEERED wood for under six dollars?!!! Husband: Yes Sales guy: (laughs) Not gonna happen. (Does the dismissive hand washing gesture and chuckles as he turns around and walks away from us, shaking his head) Yeah, not gonna happen. (Rejoins the people he'd been talking to, still chuckling and shaking his head). I don't know what to make of that. Even if it had been a completely unrealistic price (it wasn't, we got that exact product from a flooring place in Kingston the next day, but really that's not even the point), what the hell kind of way was that to treat anyone? My best guess is that, since we had come from the construction site and were in cruddy work clothes, combined with the fact that we were asking about a product/price point that wasn't available in their store, that he just wanted us to leave but the hostility was over-the-top. He could've achieved the same result by just saying "I'm sorry, we don't carry any engineered wood flooring in that range" but to literally laugh in a customers face, then turn your back and walk away from them, for simply inquiring was a bizarrely hostile reaction. read more

Joe, the gentleman who took care of me explained everything from start to finish. Gave me a decent price but most importantly to me installed a beautiful carpet and did a very professional job. I've recently done a ton of improvements at my home but none as pleasant and drama-free as the one with Carpet World. I was led to this store by the Mannington web site, where I had found sheet vinyl that I liked. The salesperson (Larry) was knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful. He arrived at the agreed upon time to measure and followed through on any details. I was even able to take a few samples home, which he picked up when he measured, saving me a trip back to the store. The installation was PERFECT (even though I'm sure they don't install much sheet vinyl). The installers were polite and efficient and did everything to make sure I was satisfied. They even took the old vinyl away and cleaned up any mess. Absolutely a great experience and my kitchen looks AWESOME! read more

Buyer BEWARE!. The owner Joseph Madden sold my wife stair noses and 2 boxes of planks ($512) without inquiring about stair's depth and thickness. Naturally the noses did not fit. As a 2nd generation owner and experienced salesman Joseph should have known better before making a sale, he also should be aware that there are certain NJ Building Regulations for stairs. The store doesn't put in writing "no return" policy. It was mentioned verbally that they might charge 50% restocking fees in case of return. We returned all the boxes and the noses unused and in the same condition that we received it hoping to pay restocking fees and get some kind of refund. We got NONE. read more

They don't stick to schedule, say one thing and do another and cost you time and money. They put me in a terrible position promising to get carpet in before the 4th of July and then I never even hit the estimate!! I went in person and Randy was rude as hell and Joe couldn't be bothered. I finally left and he still hasn't called. Message me for all the details if you really want them. But simply- Avoid them!!! G Fried is less than a half mile up the street and busted their butts to make up for Carpet World's shortcomings. They were courteous, professional and They went above and beyond. Came here for a staircase rug. Found one I liked and was originally quoted $950 for everything, installation, tax, etc. Then saleswoman didn't know I needed the stringer done too, she said I needed more carpet and the price went up to $1150. Guys came and installed, did a good job, but when they were done I had over 60 square feet of extra carpet, enough to cover half of my staircase again. Beyond that, the balance they gave me on the invoice was priced against $1262, not$1150. They told me the woman I saw was new and didn't know what she was doing. I called back and she did not want to take accountability for her mistake with the excess carpet or change in the invoice. When I told a close friend about the situation, he told me he went there and the same thing happened to him. There are plenty of carpet places around, avoid this one at all costs. read more

Terrible waste of time. Selected carpet, paid deposit for measuring visit, which they never called me back to set up when promised. I then called 3 days later to make that happen, then once more no follow-up, so I dropped into the store 4 days later and asked for the formal quote, and was promised for "same day", and now a week later still nothing! Lovely to talk to face to face - just no follow-through! Must not need the business. I'm going elsewhere. read more

Bad customer service. We came by to get a quote, they promised to call us back the next day - nothing. A week later we get a call from the manager saying he needs measurements for ordering the carpet. Who said anything about ordering?? By then we already found a different store which actually cared enough about our business to call us back on time. read more

Needed carpeting for the family room so we went to carpet world. We were quickly greeted by a salesperson. As we walk through the store the guided us where we need it to be. They were friendly courteous and very knowledgeable on all the products they had available. We ordered carpeting and left. Three days later it was installed to perfection. One of the easiest, fastest, and best purchases we ever made for our house. I would recommend carpet world to anybody for the friendly, fast, courteous, staff and wide selection of flooring choices. read more
