My wife and I are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom , and have been to a variety of showrooms in search of cabinetry and finishes. After a long day of browsing we happened upon the Alba showroom in Metuchen on Route 1 south. Much to our great surprise, we met Mike Schroeder who we had the pleasure of working with a few years ago when remodeling our kitchen. Mikes professionalism, positive attitude, and experience was instrumental in helping us make a purchase that same day! The promised timeframe was met and we picked up the cabinets shortly after - and are extremely happy with the product. During a third visit to the showroom, I met a representative from Starmark cabinets. He assured me he would expedite the door.After a few excuses and smiles, he gave me two numbers to reach him for uodates...NEVER ANSWERED MY REPEATED CALLS AND MESSAGES.THE ORIGINAL DOOR WAS CUT IN HALF IN ORDER TO SHIP IT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER AFTER THE SALESMAN WAS SPECIFICALLY TOLD NOT TO SO! SERIOUSLY?...After I continued to call the manufacturer, did I get a commitment on when it would be shipped..ONE YEAR and a week, new, replacement door arrived from the manufacturer.Correct shade of white, but poor fitment which caused me to remove shelves to install and adjust. There was no way I would have trusted a third party to do this work. I hired a friend of mine who is a second generation cabinet maker. He had to re-design one of their cabinets which was made to wrong specifications. ALBA did pay for that mistake. There are no more excuses for improving this experience read more

Needed all new cabinets for our kitchen so after meeting with a couple places I settled on Alba. What really sold me was the fabuwood cabinets and their guarantee. As we all know, things happen and sometimes things just happen out of our control so I liked that assurance. Plus I had read about their quality and I liked what I saw. I don't believe you need to get custom everything but I also don't believe in buying the cheapest option available to you. This seemed like the perfect compromise. I was able to meet with a designer, and although we weren't changing much in the kitchen, as we were keeping the original layout, he was able to suggest where we could make some visual architectural tweaks to make the kitchen pop more. I very much appreciated that I could see a full sketch on the computer versus a drawing layout. Once I committed there was a deposit and then the remaining half down and the rest upon completion. I did have a hiccup with the crown molding being a different color, but they were able to order the correct one and it was shipped out within a month. However, I had to pay to have my contractor remove the initial molding and put the new molding up. There were also issues with holes not lined for shelving which we just have to live with or at some point commit to making our own holes. This is pretty poor. It has been about 6 months and so far they are holding up. read more

We have loved working with Duygu at Alba in Hasbrouck Heights. We made an appointment with her and she spent nearly two hours with us, patiently guiding us through each design decision and making suggestions that would look nice and, where possible, save us money. Then she came to our house and met with our contractor to make sure all of the choices would work before she submitted our order. We decided on Fabuwood cabinets, and the lead time is only 10 days, so the contractor got to work immediately. Our cabinets arrive on Monday and we can't wait to see them! I'll come back to post photos once they, and the countertops Duygu helped us choose, are installed. We highly recommend Alba for your kitchen and bath needs. The prices were lower than the online-only options we'd looked at plus we got the reassurance of an experienced designer's supervision and the ability to see samples in person. Awful. Got a terrible design proposal that was days late and essentially transformed an open room into a closet. The woman is now blaming me for not giving enough information although she had room measurements and photos of the space - one of the existing kitchen (not to be changed) and the room to be designed... it is a BLANK room. Not sure what more info you need than that. The design also put chairs in front of a functioning side door that we use as our everyday main entrance. Really? And look at the second room design. Really? She said she needs my feedback on why that doesn't work and asked "did you not want cabinets?" How is this functional for any homeowner? Lol. When I questioned the design, she kept asking if I wanted to move my appliances and the location of the dishwasher when I stated multiple times that the kitchen would stay the same and I was looking for ideas for the second room to connect the two. This didn't accomplish anything. Just save your time and go somewhere else. read more

I had high expectations for Alba Kitchen and Baths. I like to support local businesses, but in the end I was highly disappointed by their service. Location: Alba Kitchen and Bath is conveniently located on Route 17 South in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Getting into and out of the parking lot can be a challenge during peak traffic times, especially if all parking spots are taken. Trucks have a habit of temporarily parking in front of the coffee shop which can making exiting the lot perilous, most other times it is not an issue. Selection: Alba Kitchen and Bath has a good selection of cabinets and tile to choose from. I went with the mid-grade MK Wood for our cabinet replacement project. Our cost was approximately $3200 without a counter top. You get some good ideas from the floor display. I did wish they had more cabinet colors on display. Summary: My business dealings with Alba Kitchen and Bath started out well. The staff initially seemed friendly, but neglected us once they were payed. In the end they fumbled on getting me my replacement color matched fillers in a timely manner(over a month). They ordered the wrong color granite counter top as well. They did apologize and offered a discount, however by that time I was already soured. I hope they can learn from this situation and offer better service to future customers. read more

My husband and I decided to do a complete renovation of our kitchen which included knocking a wall down to open up our kitchen and dining room area. We met with Umut and he came to our house, got precise measurements and designed an amazing kitchen that exceeded our expectations. We loved it!! Everyone was so professional. Had them do my kitchen. Had some issues with the designer. More than I would have liked but we worked through them. Biggest issue was with the contractor for the cabinets. While the contractor for the counters and backsplash was very professional, communicated when they were coming and showed up when they said they would. The contractor for the cabinets, Sam, was impossible to deal with. Not showing and cancelling last minute. Impossible to reach for rescheduling. Even the manager tried to reach him but could not get him to commit to when he would come back. Sam had to come back twice, once to fix pieces that he had put in incorrectly and again for parts he forgot to do. Even now after he finished I still have unsightly gaps between the trim and the walls.. He also left a mess not using any plastic to cover when cutting the wood; leaving the entire apartment covered in sawdust. He also left behind all the construction debris he was responsible for taking that I had to pay one of my other contractors to take for me. His no shows, last minute cancellations and delays caused not just a lot of stress but stretched what was supposed to be a 3 week project into 5 and a half weeks. read more

The Fabuwood cabinets are attractive & good quality. We were very happy with the price, especially since we were quoted double for the same cabinets through another local dealer. We did have an issue with one section of the countertop being off, but Alba was quick to get it corrected. We were initially super excited about our new cabinets and countertops. They went to our place ,took measurements gave us a price which we agreed upon. THEN they call us saying oh the price is actually higher based on measurements , we agreed again since we really wanted these cabinets and countertops. Today was supposed to be installation day, and Our sales rep calls us now stating that We need to give an additional 1k for then countertops since The measurements were wrong and that the company can't proceed with installation unless we make the payment. like are you serious ???? we have to move tomorrow ! We got recommended to Alba by the fabuwood website dealer list and i could not be happier. We had our newly constructed house with kitchen by our builder and had one 5 foot space empty next to the kitchen for china/butler pantry needs. We decided to make it into a beautiful butler pantry with space for beautiful china through glass door cabinets. We started working with Dominika and to say the least she was the most friendly/helpful person for our design needs. She went out of her way in designing our butler pantry (very close to our hearts) and had many tasteful recommendations too for our small space. For us the cabinets color and the style were already defined by our existing kitchen cabinets so we had no say in there but to keep it consistent. In terms of delivery the Alba team was very prompt and they got it delivered within the stipulated time. There was one wine glass holder which was backordered but arrived within 2 weeks as expected. The guys at Alba are super friendly and helpful. While installing our butler pantry we discovered there was one missing door handle which was not delivered, we called Alba on a holiday and Mohamed made sure we get the piece the same day!! We noticed that the kick plate was not delivered to us with the package and once we notified Alba, they promptly responded and had it ready within 2 days. Once the butler pantry was installed it just gave our kitchen whole new look. The only thing which did not work for us was the granite countertop color so we had to get it from some other place. I would recommend everyone to go to Alba for their kitchen remodelling needs or in our case getting a brand new butler pantry. read more

I was referred to Alba through my sister because she said they are a good place to go as far as service and price. So that's what I did. I got my kitchen and bathroom remodeled this past summer and chose cabinets for my kitchen then later for my bathroom. Erkan was very kind and helpful. Later after shopping around for countertops and getting prices I landed right back in Alba's because the great price couldn't be passed up. There were several issues with cabinets to countertops (mostly the installation from the countertop company employees) which were frustrating and delayed the process but all was worked with to satisfy. We purchased kitchen cabinets from Alba Kitchen and Bath for $16,000, and they were delivered on June 10, 2019. We paid in full on delivery. We immediately notified Alba Kitchen and Bath of a design problem which made the cabinets unusable. Nataly Herrera and Erkan Ergin have continually ordered the wrong size parts and have not taken responsibility for the problem. As of today, October 12, 2019, after 4 months, our $16,000 cabinets are still unusable and we are now forced to take legal action against Alba Kitchen and Bath to resolve the problem. read more

Words cannot express how pleased I am with my experience at Alba. Eric was great! Very helpful and informative. My kitchen design(complete renovation) was virtually non-existent. I started from zero. Eric took the time to walk me through all my options. He sat with me several times (at their location and at my home) to make sure the choices and cabinets were a perfect fit for us. He is very thorough and he knows his products! He held my hand through the entire process. from the color options and durability to the handles and knobs! I love the fact that they are a small family run business and not a big box store with an associate who is there to go through the motions with absolutely no knowledge of the product they are trying to sell you. VERY DISAPPOINTED. It's a shame because we really liked Dominika. But too many mistakes were made once we gave them our down payment. Her partner was supposed take kitchen measurements the following week, but instead didn't come until almost three weeks later. The cabinets were originally estimated to take 7-10 days from order to delivery, yet took another three weeks after that. This delayed our renovation and our ability to move in considerably. Once received, we found pieces missing which needed to be picked up or delivered even later. At this point we began hearing back less and less on our emails. We had also ordered custom bathroom vanities. The first one delivered however was wrong and we were promised that the correct vanity would be delivered and the other picked up by month's end. With all this, we were still patient and trusted them. But when we realized that the cabinet above the sink (already installed by our contractor) was the wrong size, and all the upper cabinets were too high, we told them in person. We were told the correct 36" (paid for and on our receipt ) was ordered yet a 30" cabinet was delivered. Although they ordered the replacement at no charge, when we asked about the cost of labor, (to remove upper cabinets and reinstall), they began back peddling. Typically they said, "we order 30" for upper cabinets so you don't hit your head doing the dishes". So did they purposely order 30" and charge us for 36"? Then we were told they always tell their customers to measure what's delivered beforehand. Yet they knew delivery would be made while we were out of town and said nothing about measuring before they went up. Needless to say, when it came time for the correct bathroom vanity to be delivered, it never came. And when I emailed Alba, never heard back from them again. So, if you want things done right the first time and don't want to spend extra time and money correcting what goes wrong, don't go here. Not recommended. read more

We had terrible experience with Alba Kitchen and would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away from the place to save time money and aggravation. To make a long story short, I ordered kitchen and a few living room cabinets in February of 2021. First issue was that Alba does not provide installation services to the kitchen cabinets they sell, but we decided to move forward with the order. We paid 50% deposit, and also paid extra for an "in house" delivery, which was printed directly on the invoice. upon arrival, delivery people refused to bring the order upstairs, and only after a lengthy conversation with a store manager company did me a huge "favor" and brought it up (for the service they offered and charged to begin with). Actual delivery guys did a good job and earned a good tip. Cabinet specifications are NOT marked on the invoice, and neither cabinets/boxes are marked upon delivery. You need to pay the balance of the invoice upon cabinets delivery, but you have no idea whether you got all items delivered. During the installation it was discovered that two cabinets were of a wrong size, and whole kitchen would not fit into the installation area. Mistake was made during measuring process, and person in charge of the order failed to update the designs, a few parts were also missing, and one cabinet arrived damaged. It took enormous amount of time between calls and emails to resolve the issue. It took about month and a half to get all missing parts and get the kitchen installed. Installation did not go smooth either, recommended installer agreed to one price (in the email, in writing) and then asked for additional $400. Installation itself was below average quality with tons of issues. The final product did not look even close to what is displayed in their showroom. Additionally delays created subsequent delays with countertop/backsplash installation and costed us an extra month in rent. Person in charge of designs did not even apologize for the created issue, and basically said that is happens sometimes and they will deal with it when they get to it, as they are busy with other customers. Essentially, since they already got your money, they are in no rush to fix any issues. Also make a note that they do accept check and credit cards, and if you do end up getting anything there, make sure to use a credit card (even with extra 3% charge), at least that will create some level of protection, as you won't get any funds back if paid via check. I rarely write any reviews, but this one certainly worth taking the time. If you value your time and money, consider other providers. read more
