I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Extremely disappointed with him and his lack of response.

He took the time to educate us about our floors, their current state and what had been done previously, what was "repairable" and what was not. We determined the floors on the first floor were refinish-able while upstairs required replacement. Dave suggested replacing the upstairs hallway now and doing the bedrooms later to save money. The new white oak was matched to the downstairs floor (different species) and antique staircase. Our refinished 115 year old floors stop people in their tracks -- they are stunning. Every single person who enters has commented on them. We could not be more pleased. Dave (and Travis) were a pleasure to work with, always detailed in explanation, quick to return phone calls or texts and always on time. Also, our floors were done in one week.
