I'm the type of person who is very specific about what I want and I did my homework. I got four different bids for this project, and C2C was the clear winner. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.

We hired SunCoast Restoration in 2025 for mitigation and restoration following water damage…read more The mitigation portion of the project went smoothly and was completed without issue. Unfortunately, our experience with the restoration phase was much more challenging. From an administrative standpoint, we received a final restoration invoice that did not properly reflect payments we had already made and included materials we had purchased ourselves. We notified SunCoast of these issues immediately, provided receipts and documentation the same day, and were told the invoice would be revised. Despite multiple follow-ups, we did not receive a corrected invoice or meaningful communication for nearly two months. Instead, a mechanic's lien was filed against our home based on the uncorrected invoice. After filing a complaint with the BBB and notifying SunCoast that we intended to pursue the issue further if it remained in place, we finally received a corrected invoice. We promptly mailed payment, and the lien was subsequently released. We also experienced workmanship concerns during the restoration process, including loose fixtures, electric work and finish details that required additional attention after project completion. By the end of the project, we were exhausted by the ongoing billing and communication issues and chose to address some remaining items through another contractor rather than continue working through SunCoast. In addition, we experienced a gas leak after returning home. The workers had moved our gas dryer and did not properly secure the gas line but put the dryer back in its place. We had not been informed of any concerns regarding the gas connection or that there were precautions we should take before turning the gas back on. We ran laundry overnight and woke up to the smell of gas. We notified them and they took full responsibility. Fortunately, no one was injured. While some aspects of the final restoration turned out well, the combination of billing errors, prolonged communication gaps, the filing of a lien during an unresolved billing dispute, workmanship concerns, and the gas safety issue made this an unnecessarily stressful experience. My advice to anyone considering this company would be to carefully review all invoices, maintain thorough records of payments and communications, and inspect completed work closely before making final payment.

I wouldn't characterize the sudden burst of water that flowed from our kids' toilet as a storm, but it was an unexpected happenstance that upended our lives for almost three months. Ironically, my wife and I had been contemplating restoring our outdated bathrooms, but I had explained to my wife that we needed to wait until the home interest rates plummeted, so that we could refinance our home in order to remodel our bathrooms. God Is Good All The Time and we know He heard us, but I wouldn't have fathomed that us getting new bathrooms would have occurred this way. We are so thankful to God that He allowed Aaron McFadden, Freddy and his team, and Element Construction and Restoration to be the main contractor that were responsible for the beautiful bathrooms, new flooring, and restoration of the damage that occurred from the water damage. Our home was built in the 1970s, so it's antiquated and prone to have issues such as water leaks and other problems associated with owning an older room. Unfortunately, this is our third time having some type of water issue. We've had a slab leak, a leak from our water heater, and this most recent iteration, a sudden burst of water from our kids' toilet. When this most recent episode transpired, I was a veteran of handling the basics of having to deal with a water leak such as reaching out to my insurance, contacting a plumber, and ensuring mitigation assisted with our situation. What I wasn't experienced about was construction and restoration of three bathrooms, part of our downstairs ceiling, affected walls, and our downstairs flooring. Praise God our go to plumbing company, All American Plumbing, recommended a small business and North County construction contractor named Element Construction and Restoration. The owner of the company and Aaron are family, so it's a family-run business based out of Oceanside. They have work all over San Diego, so they provide service around San Diego County. Full disclosure, I'd rate Element Construction and Restoration 4.5 stars because we did have some delays as a result of wrong materials ordered, but I would give Aaron, Freddy (one of the subcontractors Aaron uses), and Freddy's team 5 stars based on the impressive workmanship, diligence, and how everything that was restored turned out. Writing about their work doesn't do it justice, so please look at the pictures of the project. It truly was a blessing to work with Aaron. He's a friendly dude, has a positive disposition, was overly communicative in a good way, and he was completely transparent about everything including being apologetic for some issues that came up during the project. From the start of the work where Aaron came out to measure things to our final inspection where he scrutinized the work that was done, he was professional and knowledgeable about what we were going to embark on. What I also appreciated about Aaron was keeping my adjuster in the loop and updated about anything that came up from our project. One of the things I want to upgrade in our home is our kitchen, but I'm not looking for God to put us through another storm. If you're in the market for construction, restoration, or renovation of your home, I highly recommend Aaron and Element Construction and Restoration.

Bill is a true craftsman! I've had a wood gate that has needed rebuilding for the last 8 years…read more Pieces of the wood gate were rotting. Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.

Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

I engaged the services of Flood Solutions Inc. to address the water damage in my kitchen. Unfortunately, their handling of the water damage cleanup resulted in several issues. Firstly, they cracked the kitchen countertop and caused extensive damage to all of my cabinets, rendering them completely unusable. This not only escalated the overall repair costs but also posed a challenge as there were no undamaged cupboards to work with. Moreover, I discovered that some of my valuable belongings went missing during the remediation period, and despite my efforts, these items never resurfaced once everything was restored to its normal state. This added to the frustration and dissatisfaction with their services. To add to the list of grievances, Flood Solutions Inc. took an unreasonably long time to provide the billing information to my insurance provider, Farmers. It took them more than four months since the completion of the job to submit the necessary documents. Farmer's insurance company requested additional documentation and logs to justify the expenses. However, Flood Solutions has been unresponsive and has not provided the requested information. Furthermore, when the bill finally arrived, it was shockingly high, considering the subpar work and the damages they caused. I initially chose Flood Solutions Inc. based on a recommendation from a plumber, but in hindsight, I should have directly consulted my insurance company and opted for a more reputable and reliable company. I strongly advise against hiring Flood Solutions for any household needs. Save yourself the headache and seek out a more trustworthy alternative. read more

I've known Tony and Heidi since I was a little boy well they are too honest people you ever meet in this world I'd recommend them for any air conditioning he needs her HVAC needs you ever come across they've been our go-to since before I was even in Middle School my father will always call Tony and Tony would drop what he was doing if it was an emergency and be there in half hour they take care of you they honest with you they don't give you a runaround if it needs to be replaced to let you know they're not going to replace something that doesn't need to replace to make money like most of these other HVAC companies will do they're honest with you they're going to give you the best deal their people pleasers their people lovers they're not about the dollar bill they're true American people that work hard for their money and they earn it so if you ever need HVAC service I don't know how much my word is worth but I can count 50 other people that would say the same exact thing there's only one choice in San Diego for heating and air conditioning or HVAC if you don't want to get overcharged and they run around and that's h&s call and talk to Heidi or Tony and they'll take care of you. Flood Solutions did an outstanding job for me. My kitchen island was deluged with water after a leak in the plumbing line. They came out immediately and assessed the damage and provided (very reasonable) estimates for both the cleanup of the water damage and subsequent reconstruction. They were also more than willing to work with my insurance company. They were very good at cordoning off the damaged area and keeping the rest of the house livable. They also kept the work area very clean. After removing all of the damaged material, they promptly began reconstruction. They had a very talented team doing the wall boarding, tile work, plumbing and carpentry. The whole area ended up looking as beautiful as when I first bought the house. Woke up to a water heater leak on Saturday morning. These guys loaded up the van and came right over - no "after-hour" grumbling or price gouging. They explained the problem and went above-and-beyond to make sure there was no hidden damage that could haunt us in the future. The guys were polite and professional. I was able to rest assured that the job was done correctly, which is a HUGE relief after the tension of an sudden flood. They were tidy about their work and respectful of our space. I was satisfied with the remediation work and the additional follow through. The restoration portion of the work was led by another person and that scope of work and estimate wasn't as smooth. It was the same company but different people running the job like it was a separate company. I ended up hiring another contractor that I had worked with me before.
