Environment: This used to be the area where there were lots of food carts but now it turned into Ritz Carlton and below, there are a few food options to try and eat! I liked the high ceiling and each stall had its own unique style and there was plenty of seats and all kinds of spots, too. There were also fun looking robo bunnies (that's what I'm calling them). Luckily, went went on a weekday when everyone's at work so it actually was not busy and felt spacious. I'm sure that's another story if it's after work or weekends. Staff: For all the places, there are touch screens and you order it through there and you'll get a text from them to get your food. Food: 1. Zab's #20 Khao Man Gai for $18. My mom's been looking for some good chicken cooked in this particular style and she loved it. Yes, it was quite expensive but she said the chicken were tender, good portions, and the rice was even flavored with ginger and other sauces. She also liked the sauce and soup, too. I had a piece of her chicken and I agree that it was very tender. 2. Pan Roast's fried oysters for $15. Dad and I each got our own set. I wanted to try more food at Pan Roast. Maybe another time with more people! There were 5 decent sized oysters and waffle fries which I loved. Both the fries and oysters were fried nicely and the batter around the oysters were light. This price was not bad but compared with another place that's like this (oysters and fries), this was a little more $ as we hoped there was either one more oyster or more fries. Popped in for a quick pint at Prime Tap House, which has as awesome selection of taps ---- over 25 at last count. Sheesh! No food, but the rest of the Flock space has ample options, from Thai to Chinese to Mexican and BBQ; I counted 6 stalls in all. There's a nice little wine spot as you walk in too, called Nest & Vine, with a nice selection of by-the -glass vino. That front area opens to the street as well on nice days and has general seating there as well, though you can sit anywhere in the Flock space, at somewhat generic tables. It's pleasant enough, kind of a food court-meets food cart pod but with lots of windows and ducting and piped in music. Feels family friendly and welcome, good enough for a quick bite, but not inviting enough to linger for more than an hour. read more

Basically a food hall--if you were to take food trucks and put them inside with tables. Great idea in Portland d! Like Pine Street Market, only with less seating. The hubs had chicken shawarma from Queen Mama's, which was 3 and here's why--the flavor on the top of the dish was 5, but underneath that was a huge pile of unflavored rice for $22. When we first walked into Flock the vibes were immaculate! I loved the selection of restaurants and how clean everything was! There were so many things that I wanted to try here but didn't have the stomach to fit it all so we only managed to try a few! The pan roast was my main choice and if you decide to get this definitely be prepared to share! The fries were great but I was getting so full from the pan roast I couldn't quite finish it! Came here for the first time and enjoyed it. There were maybe 5-7 restaurants with multiple types of foods - Thai, Mexican, seafood, chicken/burgers, Chinese, American. I got the Thai and enjoyed it. Not a ton of seating, but seemed to be more than enough for all the customers. The hall is on a slope, so there are stairs and ramps, which felt a little dangerous to me if you're not watching your step while handling your food. There's windows and the space was clean. About 5-6 food choices from different vendors, a beer hall and a place to get wines/sake. Overall a bit underwhelming. Lots of different floor levels with steps in between. I opted for nachos with birria.. good and tender beef but chips were very soggy. For $18 there are better options out there. I got the chocolate cloud cake from the French bakery (tous Les jours ) for dessert. Delicious but pretty much the only choice still available at just 7:30pm. The almond croissant was terrible. Flock recently opened less than two weeks ago on the east side of the Ritz's first floor. The space is clean, fairly spacious, and offers a variety of options at reasonable prices. When we visited, a private event occupied half the space, but there was little notice about it, making the experience feel more hectic and less welcoming for customers not attending the event. On my most recent visit to PDX, I had the opportunity to try the newly opened Flock food hall. Located in the heart of downtown, Flock houses ~7-8 food and beverage vendors that offer a variety of cuisines - including Thai, Mediterranean, dumplings, and birria tacos. Thai curries are among my favorite food groups, so I decided to order a couple of curries from Zabpinto Thai. After ordering at the kiosk, I snagged a table in the center of the foodhall, where there is plenty of indoor seating (perfect for rainy days). After about 15-20 minutes, I received a text message when my food was ready to pick up. While the food is a bit pricey for the fast casual genre, the portion sizes are generous and filling. I loved both the House Curry and Yellow Curry - both curries were thick, well-spiced, and were served with a side of jasmine rice. My favorite of the two was probably the House Curry because it was slightly sweeter and had a peanut-y flavor that reminded me of chicken satay sauce or Pad Thai. In fact, I enjoyed the curry so much that I came back and ordered it for lunch a couple of days later. There was also an option to choose your protein and adjust your spice level; I opted for "mild+" which still had a noticeable kick. While I'd love to try the other items on Zabpinto Thai's menu, I'm also curious to try the other vendors at Flock. read more

Flock is such a cool spot! We've been twice now and eaten at Zab Pinto Thai and Birrieria. Both had our food out in less than 15 minutes and the meals were fresh and delicious. re: HK Bistro, please make note I visited 5/30/25 at lunchtime and not busy. i ordered the duck with rice - came with broccoli. It looked promising. It was served barely room temp. I asked for all to be reheated. Took about three bites of each and threw it all away. Absolutely terrible. Worst duck I have ever eaten. Broccoli was steamed with no seasoning. i did not need to pay $18 for this. Meanwhile, Flock is a nice place to visit and hopefully other offerings are better. Was expecting a bit more when visiting Flock... It has gotten a lot of attention as the newest Food Hall in PDX. There are a handful of restaurants to choose from (fried chicken, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Southern Seafood, etc.) They have a wine bar (front) and a tap room (back) no full alcohol options. The space itself is pretty compact. Thin narrow hall that tou have to walk through with limited seating options. If you go on a busy day - good luck on finding a spot to sit / dine. Also, if you're lucky enough to find parking in downtown Portland. I stood in line for HK Bistro and tried the street noodles. I did not expect them to be cold nor $16 for a small plate. In looking around at other options it all seemed to be a bit overpriced for self serve and a lack luster dining experience. I think there are better food halls in Portland and this fell short. read more

It is new, it is shiny, and the inside is interesting. But it is also narrow, crowded, and most of all - expensive. I get it it's hosted inside a high end hotel but if I can walk a few blocks to get just as good Thai, Mexican, or Chinese then why would I pay nearly double. That double comes with no service, hunt for my own place to sit, and clean my own mess. Oh yes they do ask for a tip. No thanks. I've been to Singapore and other countries, heck even in New York where food halls offer great food at lower cost. So no, just no. Portland food cart scene, I used to go to the food carts on this block before the Ritz. So many were so good some putting on a display. Some turned to brick and Mortar. Spella Coffee, Cuba de Loco to name a couple. Parking on the street was easy for me today. Many ramps to navigate the space. Everything bright and gleaming. Remnants of a Hawker Station. You place your order on the screen and they send a message when it's your time. I grabbed a coffee at the bakery down below you can enter there from the street. HK Bistro was the choice. Nice display of some of what they have. Roast Duck which was on point some of the best roast duck I have encountered. XLB was good the dumpling was not too much and the broth nice umami flavor. Char siu the sauce was nice. Veggie dish cucumber dish had a nice kick to it...at first I thought maybe it needs more but as I tried more it really came together. Seating is ok. A lot of people but the space is narrow. People were nice service was good. Food was exceptional. Coffee did not disappoint either. Got lunch from HK Bistro and it was so yummy! Feel that it was priced fairly normal for Chinese dim sum, maybe I touch on the more spendy side. All vendors have a contactless order screen besides the bar in the back. We were kinda bummed that the wine tasting area was closed when we visited, but the tap house was a good second option. I've seen this in other revues but the space is smaller than it appears on socials. It's very narrow and has a cafeteria feel. Will be nice when it's fully summer and they open up the garage doors to the plaza area just outside the food hall. read more

Met a few girlfriends for Happy Hour at Flock on a beautiful sunny day. The aesthetic and vibe were fun and hip, lots of seating, large wall murals and garage type doors that are raised when the weather is nice. It's bigger than it looks! They offer 8 different food carts and most are touch screen ordering which makes for a quick order service. We had a glass of wine (Rose and Chardonnay) at Nest and Vine and sat at a gorgeous live edge dining table that could easily hold a dozen people. Service was great there! They allowed us to drink and eat there from 4-6 (the table was reserved for a large party at 6:30pm). I ordered chicken salad rolls $9 from Zab Pinto. They were premade so as soon as I ordered I got them. Average but the peanut sauce was super flavorful. My friends ordered two entrees from Pan Roast. They said both were delicious. Parking can be dicey as we went on a Friday night for HH. Lots of choices but a bit spendy. Overall I think it's a great location with a diverse menu form 8 food carts, lots of seating! read more

Such a fun space. High-end restaurants that were really delicious. Although it was advertised as food cart like, these are not food cart prices. They are restaurant prices and the food is delicious . See my separate reviews for each one. It's a bit loud and limited seating. Don't forget to go all the way down to Tous Les jour at the end for some amazing cake. I hope they put more kiosk in because each restaurant has one kiosk and it takes a while to order, especially if you don't know what you want to get. If the whole place is crowded, I could imagine quite a long wait. However, on a Monday lunch, it wasn't busy and we were able to get our food and eat wonderfully. read more

I found this place to be pretty shoddy. The food vendors are all extremely expensive. The water cups are tiny. It's poorly designed... I found it hard to find places to sit. There's a lot of wasted space. They have these ramps leading up to an elevated seating area with high top chairs along a rail. The only problem is that the chairs are at... a rail. It's about 4 inches wide and not nearly wide enough to eat at. Why?? Probably to skimp on construction costs. The décor is, in my opinion, classic social media tryhard. It's clear to me that this is what the big corporations think we think is cool. So it's shiny and "vibey" but under the thin veneer is just another shitty, overpriced food court. All you have to do is look at the construction mishaps, and laughable fixes, around the door frames in the bathroom and it's clear that what we have here is lipstick on a pig. Shout out to Birria La Plaza, though. They are hands down the best birria and town and should be supported wherever they open locations! read more

We stopped at flock food court and I can't say I'd recommend it over any other food carts. We had pan roast for $30 each. They have an option where you can add more protein for $ 6-12 dollars. Seems very expensive for a bowl or seafood bisque. There wasn't an option for a spice level and ours was definitely over spiced and couldn't finish it. The rice was scooped in the middle. It was hard and not fluffy. Needless to say it was a very disappointing experience. The only other pan roast we've had was a palace station in Vegas. Had that one in march for $19. Hard to rate the service since you order from a screen and there is no table service. The ambiance is like any other food court hall. For $60 we can definitely dine elsewhere for service and personal choices. read more

As a vegetarian though I was pretty bummed by the limited selection of options for myself. Ended up ordering a mezze platter and mushroom dumplings and a kombucha at the bar. Everything was decent. From start to finish my thoughts on this location were complete confusion, filthy restrooms and no one cleaning up the tables. I walked from one end to the other looking at the food options. I decided to try the fish and chips, my stomach is till grumbling the next day from the over battered fish and the over cooke fries. I tried to get a glass of wine after looking at a pretty impressive display, however the wine by the glass is quickly narrowed down to a disapointing group. You are called up to get your food and then you can sit anywhere. The problem is no one seems to be cleaning the tables, so be prepared to get some napkings and wipe down your area. We did not know where to place our dirty dishware, and every trash can was overflowing.
