i would give it even higher rating if there was one. Dana has an incredible way to attend to all the details. The facility is immaculate and always ready for clients. Everything is accessible, and they have the only accessible tank in the city! All your needs are taken care of in a very thoughtful way. If you have never tried floating this place will make you into a convert, no small tanks you have to step into but nice big rooms with good temperature control and total sensory deprivation. Most amazing way to relax and turn your brain off. It is also wonderful for your skin and you get an amazing magnesium immersion! Treat yourself! read more

As a float center owner myself, I know a few things about float center quality. Float North has everything really dialed in. It's a nice, clean, professional and soothing space. Very calm and quiet, with a relaxing aesthetic. I particularly liked the transition room between the front desk and the float rooms; great way of ensuring a silent float. I floated in the Ocean float tank, which provided a really solid float. Honestly, I kept expecting noise and vibration from the parking garage below to creep in, but nope! Not even the slightest noise. Impressive! Overall, Dana's investment in a high quality float center really shows. read more

"This was an incredible experience! I experienced what I can only describe as weightlessness and joy as well as help with my back which I had recently tweaked at work. The atmosphere was peaceful, thoughtful and very clean. Dana and Steve were welcoming and warm. I would HIGHLY recommend Float North!!" read more

I cannot wait to go back. I noticed a difference in overall pain and my mood after one float!

This is the most Baller float place I have ever seen in my life. Not only is it gorgeous but there are rooms upon rooms, and each room is spacious, comfortable, and meticulously clean. The massage I got from Kaylin was amazing. I took a float right after the massage and went to another world. Thank you! read more

This was my first time floating and I've never been more relaxed. I'm not local, but if I were, I would 100% get a membership. The float put me in such a deep zen that I have never experienced before. For once, my mind shut down and I felt like I was floating on a cloud. 10\10 would recommend and Dana was really helpful with explaining everything! I only wish I could have booked a massage bundle with the float, but no times were available since I booked last minute. read more

Just had a float and a massage. O. M. G. If you want to turn off your brain for a while go do this! I can't think. I can't even think about thinking. They really take care of you here! read more

Float North is an amazing spa to align my body and mind. The float rooms are state of the art. The anteroom has ample space for pre-float preparations and shower. The float tank is spacious with tall ceilings and ample arm width space. The staff and owner are spectacular. They genuinely care about the clients and try to accomodate our needs. Float North is a community, not just another float place. In addition, I recently tore my ACL and Float North helped me rehab faster and with less pain! After each float session I could feel greater range of motion in my knee. The float+massage combo is a life-saver and helped me get back up and running faster and healthier! read more

Lol. My mind was very relaxing and it was very peaceful. I also love the massage therapy to as well. I would differently would go back there soon. Everyone was super nice and sweet. They always smiled and greeted me. They takes good care of the customers. It's a great way to give yourself a treat. Never to late to take care of your health. Thank you again. read more

Dana was incredibly warm, inviting and super professional which put me at ease immediately, it bring my first float experience. This place is clean, inviting and exactly what you'd want for a float experience. I feel like I'm still on a cloud hours after. Highly recommended if you've never tried floating! It wasn't nearly as scary or weird as I thought it would be. read more

As soon as I walk into Float North I immediately relax. Dana has cultivated a beautiful space to unwind and take full advantage of letting go of the outside world. The rooms that the float tanks are in are a perfect setup for a pre and post shower and all necessary items, like earplugs, are laid out. The tanks themselves are like mini rooms. The music at the beginning and the twinkling lights on the ceiling are such a nice touch. When it goes into complete darkness it really is light tight and I hear no outside noises at all. It's also nice that the lights controls are right there in the tank with you if you need to turn the lights on. I also really appreciate the get ready room after the float. read more

I cannot recommend Float North highly enough. A clean and beautiful space, lovely staff, thoughtful touches throughout. I had only booked a massage, but Dana was so kind to give me a tour and spend time discussing the services they provide. The massage was amazing. Can't wait to go back for a float and somawave session! read more

I can not articulate how much I enjoyed being here. Float North is by far the nicest of the 3 places I tried in Portland/Vancouver. First the fact that they have a massage option before or after your float was amazing. It felt like a spa, they moved my things for me from each space, it was beautiful and the ready room was something I didn't even know I needed. Everyone was professional and warm. I am so glad I found them. If you have never floated before please try them first. read more

I can not recommend Float North enough!! This is the first float I had done in the states in a long time, and Dana was so amazing touring me around the facility and explaining me different techniques and the process of moving from first float to second and thirds and what to expect. The facility is beautiful, quiet, calm and nicely laid out! The massage staff is wonderful (can't wait to go back for that as well!) The experience is worth it, from just having an hour of peace and quiet to the physically effects of calm, better sleep, and just feeling reset and happy afterwards is amazing! And thank you Dana for always willing to share more about the science and experience of floating, I love the geeking out part and appreciate you sharing your knowledge with others! read more

I had a great experience at Float North, with a 1-hour float and 1/2-hour on the SomaWave table. I'm a somewhat experienced floater (have been to 3 other facilities), and this was by far the best overall experience so far. Atmosphere/Staff I was greeted by Dana when I walked in, right away. The lobby is cool and calming, with water and tea available, minimalist but comfortable couches/decor, and a real sense of quiet in what's otherwise a pretty busy city block. There was plenty of parking under the building as well. Dana gave me a tour after I filled out my paperwork, explaining the whole process and showing each of the elements of the space, and even adjusting the temperature in my float room, which was a bit high. After that, she left me to it. The Float Float North uses the large walk-in float rooms, which are my preference. It's about 6x8x7 feet, so easy to get into, and I find that it's easier to let go into the experience in a bigger tank where I don't touch the edges as much. There's also room to move around and experience the feeling of the water on my skin, so it increases the range of sensation to have the larger space. I showered and got in, and after about 5 minutes the soft music and starry lights that had been displaying turned off and I was off. I appreciated the complete soundlessness--even with earplugs in, I have almost always heard some ambient noise, but there was none this time. That water was at the correct temperarure and I was able to relax fully. SomaWave Table After the float I was signed up for 1/2 hour on the table, which I had never done before. I was already quite relaxed, so it's hard to say what effect it really had, but it's basically like lying on a massage table with a very deep, constant vibration, sort of like a strong hum, running through your whole body. It was pleasant, but again, not sure of the overall effect. In all, I walked out feeling quite calm, relaxed, and happy, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I wish I lived close enough to go regularly (I was visiting Portland), but will definitely go back when I'm there again. read more

I love this place and the staff. I feel so welcomed every visit. The float experience changes for me every time. It is my favorite way to destress, clear my mind and feed my soul. If you are thinking of floating, Do It! Float North is the best! read more

Love floating! What a relaxing and healing space.... I have acute RLS and floating really helps sooth my nerves. I feel a huge difference in my body post-float. Highly recommend! read more

Float North is amazing. Went after my first dose of the vaccine and my arm was hurting. The first benefit I really noted after this appointment was the mental clarity I experienced throughout the rest of the day. I was foggy coming out which to me meant I really rested but the rest of the day I felt more alert and "with it" than I have in a very long-time. The second I just didn't expect: my arm felt so much better!! While still a bit sore post, it was *way* worse when I started than when I ended the float so I was grateful for that timing!! read more

I have wanted to do a float for a long time and this was the perfect place to try it. Greeted by friendly staff and made to feel very comfortable. Spacious cabins and so relaxing. I LOVED my first floating experience. I was extremely relaxed afterwards, an effect that lasted until well into the next day despite the fact I have a fairly hectic & fast paced life right now! I felt that my joints were loosened and I could increase flexibility aftwards by the way I was able to stretch my body while floating. The space at Float North is beautiful and calming. I appreciated the ability to manage the lighting in the float room which made it a beautiful experience. I'll be dreaming of my next float!! read more

Float North is immaculate, comfortable and welcoming. It's really a treat to take some time for self care. I've had both floats and massages, and it's one of my favorite local businesses. The owner Dana is so friendly and warm--it's always a pleasure going there. read more

I was in town for a summit and needed to unwind. I certainly came to the correct place. The owner, Dana, was extremely cordial and energetically showed me around. Best customer service I've experienced in quite some time! The tank experience was exceptional. I wish I would have had time to get a massage and experience the SomaWave. I will surely schedule another appointment the next time I am in town. If you've never floated, this is the place to do it. read more

I have been to Float North twice now and I am going a third time next week. The staff are phenomenal, the facility is so clean, welcoming and relaxing. I never felt rushed and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Whether you are an experience floater or have never floated before, you will both be well accommodated. Dana is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you want to know the science behind it, she'll tell you. If you want to know where her passion comes from, she'll tell you. I cannot recommend enough. read more

Immaculate float center that has the customer experience dialed in from start to finish. Float North is a beautiful float spa with a convenient location (and free parking!). The owner/operator Dana is a warm, welcoming and overall lovely human being who obviously took a lot of time and put in a ton of effort to not only build this space but to consider all facets of the experience. I floated in one of Float North's Ocean Rooms and the lighting, water temperature and cleanliness of the tank and shower is perfect. I highly recommend Float North for a float and can only assume their high level of quality control translates into their massage services as well (I'll have to go back for a massage one day). Definitely will be returning. read more

Amazing float center! I booked a float for a couple of hours after I landed in Portland for a business trip (something I always do when traveling to help reset myself after flights) and the space was beautiful. Dana, the owner (the one in those Yelp pictures!), was there and greeted me as soon as I walked in. She showed me around and gave me great instructions for my float room. The float room was very well soundproofed so with the music off I was able to drift away in my own little world. Beyond my great float, the space is just so warm and welcoming. I love the colors and layout of the space. I walked passed a massage room as Dana showed me around and it made me wish I would have made time for one! I was a little worried about parking driving my rental car to the location but I found a spot very nearby quite easily. I highly recommend Float North for anyone looking to float in Portland, for your first float or if you are an avid floater like myself and happen to be in the area. Well done, Float North! Thank you! read more

This is the place. So much care and attention to detail makes this place feel so cozy and warm. Dana is phenomenal and always greets everyone with such warmth and professionalism. The float options are really great and everything is clean and well kept. Offering a variety of massage and other treatments it would be easy enough to have a full health care experience here. And what words can be used to describe the actual experience of floating.... you just have to experience it for yourself but for those who tune in, there is just nothing like it. read more

I have received several sessions from Dana. She has an amazing insight into wellbeing. She is very fluid in her movements and the session flows in an incredibaly relaxing way. I would Highly recommend Dana as a massage therapist and as a member of your health and well being team. read more

I have received two massages from Dana. She is very attentive and intuitive in her massage. I had not had shiatsu performed until she performed it on me post hood to coast. I was unable to walk normally due to the pain in my calf. After one session I felt great and returned to my normal running the next week. Which I actually found out was too soon, based on pushing off a rock during a trail run and re-injuring myself. This was much worse this time, but after working with Dana she had me walking more comfortably within an hour and feeling great the next morning. I was amazed by her healing techniques that were so quick and effective. Now it's time for me to give my body a chance to heal. I highly recommend Dana! -Heidi P., Tigard read more

I had a session with Dana about a month ago. She came highly recommended from a friend. What I loved about her work was the patience that she brings to it. I'm always n a hurry, I am often focused on accomplishment and it was a real treat to have a practitioner 1-up my energy in that way and help me to slow down. Overall, her skill is excellent and I felt great for weeks after. I definitely recommend. read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Float North today! First float ever and I know this will become a much needed habit. Dana (the owner) has an inviting and calm presence. She explained how everything works and left me to my float. It was meditative, relaxing and calming. I was finally able to relax, enjoy the soft and warm water and actually turn my brain off! Also, I'm a bit of a germaphobe and I will say, this place is very clean, modern and relaxing. I highly recommend Float North. Bonus, they have free parking at their building. Go in and check it out! Thanks Dana! read more

Very soothing. This is a new facility that is managed very well. I've been about 6 times so far. There are very few places in PDX where you can experience distraction-free silence, let alone while having a super-clean and cozy "float." There are plenty of wash-cloths, and the linens (large bath towel and personal robe) are of good quality. For those who don't know, float tanks used to be called sensory-deprivation tanks. But that doesn't really explain the experience and might sound a bit negative. A better term might be "distraction-deprivation pools." Think effortless floating on your back (there are head/neck supports if you need them), in a temperature controlled space, no waves, no noise, no lights (unless you want them), and no interruptions (be sure to turn your cell phone off). Most people choose between 60-90 minute sessions. These aren't the old-fashioned claustrophobic tanks -- Float North offers private rooms with plenty of open space and freshly circulating air above each pool. There is a private shower in each room. The facility also offers a variety of massage therapies. For first-time users, you float (without working at it) because the salt content is super high. The salt can sting so be sure to apply the vaseline (individual packets are supplied) to cover all openings "down below" after you go to the bathroom...and use the ear plugs to cover over your ear channels. On a personal note I would encourage you to try it while you are "clean and sober" as the saying goes, so you really get the feel for this wonderful experience. Enjoy! read more

I love the way I feel after my massages with Dana. She is intuitive and knows just how to get to places that I didn't even know were tender. Her presence is as calming as a clear lake. I have gotten so relaxed, I have fallen asleep on several occasions. I recommend her to all of my friends for an exceptional massage experience. read more

Float North is a grounded and beautiful float center. The center was mindfully constructed with thought provided to maintaining the quietest float possible for customers. Dana is a kind and compassionate facilitator of her space; carefully considering each person's experience that walks through her doors. She takes the time to listen to her clients and cares about what they want and need. She is very passionate about float therapy, and it shows. I had an excellent float at her center yesterday, and left feeling calm and centered. The Ocean Float tanks she has are superb and offer a spacious experience to floaters. If you have never floated due to fear of claustrophobia, I guarantee this will not be a problem for you at this center. These tanks will make anyone and everyone feel safe and comfortable floating ! It is clear that Dana has taken notes in all her previous float experiences, and has given the best of them to her customers. read more
