Stopped in here for an early Saturday lunch with my son and the place was empty. For just opening, the inside looked clean and inviting. Between the music and décor it felt like a 50's-70's themed place. Not knocking it, the music was a nice mix of 70's rock. The girl at the counter was very helpful and pleasant, she pointed me towards the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and my son went with a Cheeseburger. The menu is pretty extensive, we added some fries to split. They had a large TV and at the time surfing was on so that was fun to watch and chat about with my 7 year old. The order came out pretty quick. The Chicken looked like your run of the mill small boneless Chicken tenders, they added Blue Cheese on the hoagie roll which wasn't over done and I liked the addition of the celery pieces on top. The waffle fries were tasty and a good portion size. My son enjoyed his burger which was on the smaller side, but perfect for him. The bathrooms were clean and orderly. I would definitely return to try their shakes, and other items from their menu if I happened to be in the area, but I wasn't blown away. My son enjoyed his burger and our time together. We walked in at 7:45 thinking they close at 10pm. They took our order anyways. Prices are good, I had a double burger with lettuce and tomato. Recently stopped by Flip City for a quick lunch. This place has been on my radar for quite sometime and I never had the chance to stop until recently. It's located in a small strip mall but has a nice presence. Neon lights and has the retro vibe. They offer everything from burgers to shakes. It's has a nifty fifty's vibe, just better. I went with the classic burger with flip sauce and waffle fries. The burger itself was solid! Everything was fresh and delicious. The burger was flavored well and cooked just right. You don't get any better then a martins potato bun. But, they should toast it. It would have made it that much better. The fries were a miss for me. They were cooked nice but I didn't care for the coating. While crispy, they were kind of gritty. The cheese sauce though was delicious. Priced right and solid lunch. I will stop back in. Flip -N- Shakes is a 1960's-esque burger joint on 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA. It is a large room with tile floor and utilitarian furniture. Built for speed, not comfort. I was the sole customer when I walked in last weekend on a Saturday afternoon. I was mildly surprised by the lack of activity, but the staff was friendly, and answered by rookie questions with a smile. I opted for the Chop House Burger (horseradish, darkly sautéed shrooms, steak sauce, dijon mustard, provolone and onion frizzle on a standard bun), and an apple pie shake. I asked for medium, but then I read that all burgers were served medium-well. At $6.59, the price was a little high for the product presented. Quarter pounder without fresh taste, and a ton of spicy additions that were enjoyable (love horseradish on my sliders), but somewhat contradictory on the tongue. The interplay with the steak sauce and dijon was not harmonic with the radish, and appeared to have been absorbed by the mushrooms so that the original earthiness from the cellar dwellers was lost. Not a bad sandwich, but I wasn't in love with it. I had visions of a real slice of apple pie being placed in a blender with ice cream and milk to create the shake. Not exactly. There were a few small apple slices, and the cinnamon nutmeg flavor, but no crusty bits. The flavor was strong and sweet fun, but would have been completely off the hook with an actual slice of pie. It was comparable to a Shake Shack freeze at a better price, so no real demerits for the shortcut. The Five Guys nearby makes a better burger (with double meat), while the shake was very good here. Flip City sound track is mostly classic rock, so the atmosphere is fine. These guys have some tough competition in the burger wars. I wish them well in finding the sweet spot that will distinguish themselves from the surrounding hordes. read more

Dont know why everyone gives this place such a bad rating. I was in the area yesterday, so I decided to stop by to get some lunch.. Found that was a coupon for 15% eat in only on purchase. At arrived I was pleasley surprised by the size and how clean it was. I was welcomed by a very nice lady that took my order. I was ask what I would like to order and what would like to drink. At the time I was not really in the mood for any soda, iced tea or juice. And Hears something I don't see alot. I was given a cup and lady said if you like water it's over there. Usally you always have to ask for a cup. So not too ask and given one. That was nice. On to food. I got the fire Cracker burger. With O'Rings. Both were delicious. The burger was done just how I like it, on a fresh just alittle Toasted roll. With fresh lettuce and fresh tomato. And onion rings are just so perfect just really crispy just how I like them. There really is so much to choose from on the menu. Which is that for your good thing. I look forward to coming back here in the near future to try something else, I was totally happy with the service/the food and the atmosphere. read more

Stopped on a whim for takeout when we were in the area. There's something for the whole family - so many amazing custom burger choices, hot dogs, chicken strips, grilled cheese, etc. Portions were just right for us. The food is a la carte, so you have to order fries if you want them. We tried both shoestring and curly - they were very good - flavorful and crispy (not burnt! Just good, fried food heaven). Customer service was great, so patient and friendly. They have a few tables outside as well as spacious indoor dining. Fast service. So happy we stopped here. Very friendly staff, I've been wanting to try this place for the past year or so and finally made it here. You walk in to all these ice cream displays and chocolate syrups and your mouth just waters waiting in line. They have a huge blackboard menu that you can look up at over too the counter and also smaller menus so you don't get a stiff neck looking up. The staff here were very welcoming and friendly and even suggested a few items that were their best sellers. I ended up getting a cheese steak hoagie, French fries and a mint chip milkshake. And my mom got a cheese burger with mushrooms and fried onions with French fries and a black/white shake. As we say and waited for the counter person to bring us our food, we were entertained with televisions and their were also a PAC man game and other games and a photo booth- additional charges but still pretty cool and entertaining- deff good of you brought kids. The food came and was so tasty, the milkshake was the best and we were told it was Jack and Jill Ice cream that they use- which I really like! The steak was cooked so well and had a good flavor. The whole time me and my mom were barely talking because we were chowing down. They also have funnel cake which I would like to try the next time I come here to eat. Came in with a large party and we are out of towners looking for a great Philly cheesesteak. This was not the place for one. It seemed like they cooked their steaks in oil it was extra greasy and the wiz was barely coating the roll, I didn't taste cheese at all. The staff was super friendly which makes it hard for me to only leave 2 stars but if they want to stay open the steaks need to improve. Also, extensive drive in favorites like egg-creams, floats, and shakes. The restaurant itself is located in a little strip mall. Order at the counter and food is brought to your table. All items are at a reasonable price point. Servings of fries, etc are very large and could easily be shared. If you are a vegetarian there are many grilled cheese choices (I had the caprese w basil, tomatoes, and mozz--Yum!), but there is no veggie burger option which is kind of disappointing with all the fun burger toppings they have going on. Extremely disappointing experience here last weekend--attributable to sheer incompetence rather than opening week wobbles--is likely to discourage future visits. Here's what happened: I stopped for two malted shakes to take away. Heartened was I to read that Bucks' County's own Goodnoe's ice cream would be used, but my joy was quickly squelched. Even though there were as many as seven (7) people behind the counter, the restaurant was perhaps 25% full and there was no queue, I waited 25 minutes for my two malteds. Yes, 25 very long minutes (during which I could have and should have just gone to Sonic). I watched the soda jerk move slower than molasses to retrieve ice cream supplies from the back of the store. He also was incapable of multitasking: Instead of filling the metal shake cups and putting them on the spindle drink machine before replacing an empty ice cream tub with a full one, he focused solely on the ice cream tub. To add insult to injury he made the malteds consecutively instead of concurrently notwithstanding the fact that he had the spindle capacity to make nine or ten shakes at once. By the time the second shake was completed (between shakes, the soda jerk replaced another ice cream tub and assembled a salad for a customer who had entered 10 minutes after me ("Shake Interregnum") the first shake had melted into milk. During the Shake Interregnum, I asked the cashier for a time estimate for the completion of my order. She dismissively replied that orders are filled in order, which was demonstrably untrue. We had high hopes that this restaurant space, which had been vacant for over a year, would become home to a sensational neighborhood eatery. Regrettably, my experience is not a harbinger of wonderful things to come. P.S. They used liquid malt, which is not the real deal. Carnation's malt powder is legit and makes a far superior end-product. Just sayin'. P.P.S.
