We went on a busy Saturday during the holiday season and our waitress was phenominal! Very attentive and all around pleasant. We had the pretzels with beer cheese as an appetizer and I had the bang bang shrimp tacos. The pretzels were tasty, the beer cheese wasn't anything to write home about, but those tacos hit the spot! I wasnt sure how I was going to feel about the apple slaw, but it was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and was the perfect touch. This looks like a great spot to stop and watch a game and enjoy a few drinks and some apps, but it also a great spot to just stop in for lunch/dinner. My family and I recently had a great brunch experience at Steam Pub. The hostess greeted us, had us promptly seated and our server was friendly and on top of all of our needs. The inside has an extremely long bar with tons of TV's, high top seating, regular table seating and a small stage area for live music. Their DigitalPour software shows you craft beers on tap and how much is left in each keg which is pretty neat. They had a good combination of local craft breweries and International brews - my wife enjoyed a St. Bernardus Tripel from Belgium, I had a session IPA from Workhorse brewing. I didn't dive into their Brunch cocktail menu, but it had plenty of classic drinks and cocktails. They have a full bar and cocktail menu with wine. Their food menu had so many great options to choose from! The kids had grilled cheese and chicken tenders and mentioned they really enjoyed the crispiness of the skinny cut fries. My wife and I split the spicy crab soup which was awesome, full of crab, veggies and had a big black peppercorn bite to it. My wife had the Chicken Quesadilla - cajun chicken, cheddar jack cheese, Pico de Gallo, chipolte aioli $15 - had nice flavored chunks of chicken and the pico de gallo that came on the side provided a big spicy punch. I had the Breakfast Tacos - scrambled eggs, sausage, cheddar jack seared in pancake shells, powdered sugar & syrup served with tater tots at $17 - a huge meal (should have brought some home) added some hot sauce, syrup and just enjoyed the flavors so much. The tots on the side were crispy and delicious. The manager greeted us when we came in and also stopped by to say hello. Overall I was really happy with our meal, the service and how my family was treated. We took in a few innings of the Phillies in London (sadly a loss) and enjoyed an unrushed, relaxing time as a family. We will definitely return and I highly recommend stopping here for a Brunch! There is a new menu! It seems to be more of a bar menu. Most of our favorites were gone. My husband and I had a difficult time choosing something semi-healthy. Another older couple came in as we were leaving; the man was hoping to order the prime rib, but no longer a menu item. My husband had a chicken cheese steak, which had a huge roll with not enough chicken to fill it and only a few onions. I ordered a catfish and pineapple salsa wrap (my usual salmon was gone). Went on a Friday to check out happy hour with a friend who frequents this place. The only good thing I have to say is that the beers were half-price and there was a decent selection. There is a strange odor to this place, especially near the bar. We set a little further back and it wasn't as bad. After placing our drink orders, My friend ordered the chicken sliders which came out in less than five minutes and before the drinks. They didn't look that great. I hesitatingly ordered the meatball sliders. For $7 I received three less than 1 inch meatballs on brioche buns with about a teaspoon of sauce, a little cheese, and no basil as stated in the menu. They tasted like they came out of the can, like Chef Boyardee. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. If they can serve such bad food as I got, I'd be skeptical of trying anything else. Not sure why my friend loves this place so much. I guess he enjoys the discounted beer and food. No desire to return and if he suggests it again I'll tell him no thanks. No apology from the owner. The new chef is creating and mixing some phenomenal tastes and flavors in some ways that are above the standard. Highly recommend. I never tried the old menu cause to me it was regular bar food I could get at a number of places. If I'm spending money, most times I want something I can't make just as well at home. Very good restaurant, never had a bad meal there. Ambience is good, service is great, and the specials rotate frequently and are always a treat. My only point of contention with Steam is their takeout, which can be hit or miss. Again, I've never gotten a bad mean from Steam, but sometimes I'll order a burger to go and the bun will be soaked, or the sauce will be missing, or the toppings will be a complete mess. If you want a sandwich for takeout, here's my advice; get it in a wrap and ask for sauce on the side. Never had a problem with that. read more

We went back! We finally made it back! And the service was amazing for a busy Friday night during Christmas. Our server came back many times to fill up our drinks and to check on us, even when it seemed he had many tables. The restaurant was decorated so nicely for the holidays, and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience here. Everything came out piping hot in a timely manner, and there wasn't a dish we left unfinished or boxed up for leftovers. My salad was amazing and fresh (and they had lettuce!), and, while I'm not a meat person, the cheesesteak smelled amazing. Our mozzarella wedges were gooey and really enjoyable. Victoria and Tim went over the top to accommodate our large, loud and over the top party at a last minutes notice. The tables were set (they brought out flowers we dropped off earlier in the day), had our cakes refrigerated until needed. Finally getting around to reviewing Steam. It's a Southampton staple and by far one of my favorite American restaurants around my hometown of Huntingdon Valley. The restaurant is built inside an old steam railroad car- hence the name. Filled with friendly and hardworking employees, our experiences have always been great while dining-in. I recommend making a reservation or expecting a wait, as it's almost always packed in the evening for dinner. On Fridays and Saturdays you can always count on having an amazing time while bopping around to a DJ set or live band. Some of my fondest memories have been made with my closest friends at Steam in my early 20s. The pub consistently makes incredible food. Their wings are some of the best around. They're large and in charge and are crisp and crunchy with a every bite taken. My family tends to get sauce-less wings, and, alternatively, request multiple sauces on the side. My favorites are the honey hot and garlic hot. As far as sandwiches go, Steam prepares the most tasty French Dip sandwich. The meat is always tender, the roll is indescribably delicious, and the side of au jus for sandwich dunking is perfection. The signature drinks are bomb! I, especially, love the spiked coffee drinks they offer. The beer list is always long and impressive and tends to have local and craft options for any of you beer snobs. I've only ever had one bad experience (out of, maybe, 40) and it was a takeout order placed via GrubHub. Though, the wait was extra long, we appreciated the dessert found in the bag to make up for it. Furthermore, the staff noticed most of our order was gluten free so the cake was flourless. It's moments like these that I appreciate attentive and observant service. Many places don't even offer gluten free options, let alone the ability to notice a persons allergy intolerance. Bravo! I could go on-and-on about so many more menu items, but I think Yelp would end up cutting me off. Now, go pay yourself a little visit there! read more
