Great, casual restaurant with some solid happy hour options. As the name implies, you can get flights of various drinks or food items. We decided to order solely off the happy hour menu and did a flight of margaritas (regular, prickly pear, and mango jalapeno), a flight of moscow mules (regular, grapefruit, forgot the last flavor), and a flight of empanadas (truffle mushroom, chili cheese, spiced beef) to share. The empanadas were delicious, especially the truffle mushroom flavor. The drinks were also tasty and not watered down at all. You get your money's worth. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, including at the bar. They have a giant hangar airplane attached to the ceiling which adds to the ambience and themed decor of the restaurant.
There aren't that many places that offer more than just "bar food" and have a bunch of sports tvs. That's why I chose to try this place out. Some of the dishes here were quite tasty! Calamari and the fried jalapeños, nachos had good cheese and wasn't dry. There were some flights I didn't care too much for like the empanada, sliders (the pulled pork was very dry), or wings. I'm not sure if it was most of the servers and bar staffs first week but our server seemed to be all over the place and not very knowledgeable. Same with the bartender when we asked if they had a certain type of alcohol. Our server would forget to put in some of our orders, when the food and drink flights came out she wouldn't tell us what each one was, I had to flag her down to ask and then she had to ask someone else. When our drinks were ready they just sat at the bar top until another staff, who I believe was the manager brought them over. Our food was placed for a table that was vacant. Luckily the food came out very quick though. I don't think she understood that I wanted a chaser with my shot so she charged me a full soda. Definitely can improve on the service and disconnect.
This restaurant has a cool fun vibe. There's a nice large bar area and both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a cool airplane hang from the ceiling. We tried the following flights : tacos, French fries and sliders. The cool thing is they let you customize the flights for example if the taco flight comes with 1 beef, 1 chicken and 1 carnitas- you have the option to ask for 2 beef and 1 chicken instead. The food looks amazing ! But I personally found the flavor lacking in the things we ordered. So we were kind of bummed about that. But the service was good and the location of the restaurant is amazing in cute downtown Burlingame.
Not trying to be awful with this review, but this was the worst quality food we've had in recent memory. I understand that this isn't the kind of establishment you would expect top notch food, but in comparison, Applebee's blows this place off the map. Our group had the steak omelet, the classic breakfast, and the taco flight. The omelet was absolutely terrible (also $18). The chese tasted like they threw Kraft sliced cheese inside, and the eggs didn't even taste good. Even if you don't cook, you should know that it's really hard to screw up eggs. The tacos were also very bad. The tortillas looked like they were straight out of the bag from Safeway. The tacos were extremely flimsy, messy, and lacked taste. The beer selection is minimal. The inside of the restaurant is depressing. it feels like you're eating in a rundown garage. It also doesn't help that one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area (Limon, absolutely amazing Peruvian food) is directly across the street. Very seldom do I leave a restaurant upset that I decided to eat there. I was upset I paid money to eat at Flights.
I had been wanting to come here for quite some time and recommended it to a friend to be a restaurant and bar to eat at for hosting an Olympics watch party--we unfortunately were underwhelmed, disappointed at the quality of service and lack of clear and transparent accommodations for gluten free food, ridiculous double charging asking for double the tip during payment, and unclear pricing on the menu. One of our friend's guests had a severe and serious gluten allergy and the chefs and staff were unable to resolve the situation and even charged money for the food which was not gluten free, they had seizures in the past prior and had a headache during dinner which was cause for worry and I don't think the staff took this health and safety issue seriously at all. I was super pissed that they charged on top of the recommended tip to total a double tip charge and I was not inclined to pay it--something must be wrong with their PoS (Point of Sale) system and I'm extremely surprised no one flagged it before. That being said, the good and drinks were decent and okay at price but the rest of experience really fell short of expectations. The Wagyu burger was more expensive which I solid with a friend and it was fine. The nachos, drinks and fries were all okay. I unfortunately won't be coming here again if the staff continues to think it's actually ok to ask people to double their tip charges on the bill and to treat those with allergies this way, it's not high end or upscale but bad service that does not provide basic requests or accurate payment and pricing on their menus or tabs.
I had high expectations for this place and was intrigued by all the different flights they have for food and drinks, but was a little disappointed. The skewer flight was very expensive for how much food was given. With three small skewers for $23 it was not worth it, although the flavors were good. The chicken sandwich was good, but not something that you would crave again. I got the chicken mushroom pasta to satisfy my pasta craving and was quite sad by what was brought out. I will say that chicken was flavored very well. I think this place would be great for hanging out with a group of friends and getting drinks while snacking on some fun food flights. I came here for a dinner and it didn't really match what I was looking for.
Large open air restaurant in hotel lobby. How good could it be. Well food was good. Best I ever had? No, but was good. 4 out of 5. But the view! Wow. Massive window across the bay. Amazing place to sit while watching airplanes takeoff and land. Definitely enhanced the eating experience.
Loved the pork chops so much!! The tempura fish was good but a tad too greasy and very airy (not a lot of meat). Steak frites that went with it are good. Service was good. Ambiance is more of a casual / family oriented vibe
We came here after visiting Washington Park with 6 people on a Sunday afternoon. It was hot and we wanted something small and quick to eat and drink while the niners game was on. We originally wanted to sit at the bar but since we had a larger group we opted to sit at a table. We got a round of shots and a Prickly Pear Margarita that was really good. We got the signature French fries flight (truffle, rosemary garlic, bbq) served with herb ranch, chipotle mayo, and ketchup. We also got the Chicken Wing flight (Buffalo, salt n pepper, honey habanero) that came with 9 total wings. And we got a chicken fettuccine Alfredo. It was a good little snack for all of us, service was great. There was air conditioning, but there was a quick black out during the game but it came on pretty quickly! There's street parking and some lots nearby.
Cool concept but I thought the food was just ok. Something comparable to a BJs. *Margarita flight I enjoyed one of the three. Same goes for the old fashion flight. My sainted enjoyed one of the three. *our server was awesome. She even offered to change our flights to a single drink if we didn't like a certain drink. I thought that was interesting cause 1) we didn't say we didn't like them & 2) maybe others also prefer one drink over the other?
Customer service; Greeted upon arrival, tended to within minutes & checked in on us twice after being served. Food: The first time we tried flights was in Vegas, I had never heard of nor had a clue of flights before my trip to Vegas! I didn't know I was within 10 miles of one but I'm so glad I am. The food is incredible. The Wagyu burger ($20) was absolutely perfect for my partner. I had the pasta pomodoro & Mac & cheese flight. Knowing how much I loved the truffle Mac last time I knew I had to get double this time around. Everything was on point. My only "negatives" was the transfer from the plate with Mac & cheese into a to go container & the fact that looking for parking took a while. But I will be coming back & we highly recommend Flights!
I keep trying to give Flights a shot and it keeps disappointing me. The concept is great, the menu is extensive, and the ambiance is casual sit-down, but the food is just... meh. Each bite is mediocre. And this review is for the Burlingame location, but I found the same at the Mountain View location as well. And the prices aren't cheap! Save yourself a trip and go elsewhere. Or go only for drinks. I will not be returning.
Our party of three stopped in for a quick and easy dinner. The concept is pretty cool in that flights are the main theme. I ordered their Slider Flight which was a Bacon Wagu Cheeseburger, Buffalo Chicken with Blue Cheese, and a BBQ Pulled Pork with Jalapeño Slaw ($18.00). My date ordered the Empanada Flight which came with one Truffle Mushroom with Truffle Crema, one Chili Cheese with Cilantro Crema and one Spice Beef with ChipotleMayo ($19.00). I think the orders were on the pricier side for what we got but I guess that's everywhere now. The service was very disappointing as our server was very cold during any interaction and I would even say he avoided us as often as he could after he reluctantly took our order. I'm just adding this note for my future reference as I do not plan on returning.

It's named Flights because they have flights of food! Mac n cheese flight 9/10, fries flight 8/10, Ahi tuna taco flight 12/10!!!! Amazing a friendly staff! They really took care of us even when the rain started!! Warm, cozy vibes and a great date spot! Coming back soon! read more

Came to Flights and was unexpectedly impressed by both the service and food. I had never been prior, but from the outside, it seemed like a place to just come and hang out with friends over some bar bites. We started with the scallop appetizer, the slider flight, and the empanadas. All of the food was solid! I particularly loved the scallops - they were grilled perfectly and the I enjoyed the creamy, tangy pepper slaw it rested on. The sliders were also really good in my opinion. Tender, not dry and flavorful. My date and I disagreed on which we liked best, but let it be known it was the bacon cheeseburger. When it came to the empanadas, I really enjoyed the truffle cheese and mushroom one. It was soooo good!! Following these dishes, we were kind of in between it's enough and we could have more. We opted for the ribs and haha omg, we were both absolutely flabbergasted by the presentation! There were 6 ginormous beef ribs delivered. They were all very tender and lightly sauced, just how I like it. We had no chance of actually finishing it though. When it came to service, our waitress was attentive and friendly. I also appreciated how Flights just allowed us to sit and talk without issue. We definitely had a good time and I would totally welcome a return. read more

My friends and I celebrated a birthday here and I think the service is what made the experience so memorable! We came on a Saturday at 12pm with a party of 12 and immediately ordered 12+ shots. The idea of this place is really cute and I like how you're able to order "flights" of things to try! Pancakes, tacos, skillets, etc. a must get is the mac n cheese flights! Food was sub par but creative so definitely 5 stars. read more
Went there last night- I had the salmon with orzo special- it was excellent. I like the plane in the middle of the restaurant- it's kinda cool seeing how they have it hung up there. I had the same server as last time - she was much better today- the hand held was working much better- there was communication issues with the server last time. I liked the concept (food flights) but the food is average, I ordered the taco flight. I also didn't like that I was seated 5-7 min before 6pm and when the waitress came back to take the order at 6:01 (not exaggerating) would not allow a drink at their happy hour price which ended at 6. Just felt it was done on purpose. If you arrive close to end of happy hour put in your order immediately when seated. I liked the cocktail I ordered- "turbulence", but had wanted to try the margarita flight but because wouldn't honor happy hour price didn't get it. Off happy hour - flights are $24. This is a one and done place for me. read more

Great place to hangout with a big group, very spacious. Friendly and attentive service. The food presentation was great, but taste was just okay. Got the ribeye steak with fries & egg. Tasted bland, needed to ask for salt and sauce. Others got flights, I believe mac & cheese and hash brown. Looked amazing, but didn't try. read more

Try cocktails like mimosas, bloody mary, wines, moscow mules, frozen margaritas, margarita rocks, mojitos, and old fashioned in 3 different flavors for each flight. For their brunch menu, they have flights for hash skillets, French toast, and pancakes. They also have flights for non-brunch food, like the ahi tuna taco flight. Made dinner reservations here on a Saturday night but there weren't that many people at 6pm. They offer outdoor heated seating as well but inside is pretty spaced out with high ceilings. Staff were polite and accommodating for us to sit on the opposite side of the restaurant. Since they specialize in flights, it would be rude to not order any. French Fry Flight $17 - Your standard french fry order. Didn't feel anything special with this. At least the fries were crispy. Mac & Cheese Flight $19 - Love mac n cheese and this was good. The 4 cheese and truffle mac were creamy. The crispy stick one was a little underwhelming in that it was dry and not oozing out cheese. Empanada Flight $19 - Though the empanadas were small, they were all good. They were a mild to medium spicy. To my surprise, my favorite of the 3 was the red chile cheese. It had the better flavor profile of the 3. Signature Skewer Flight $22 - This is a definite pass. The skewer meats were all over cooked. There was not enough sauce on any of the skewers. On top of that, they were all burnt. Not a good flight, would skip. This place is honestly a little too pricey. Nice for the 'gram but definitely way too small of a portion for the price paid. read more

We ordered the following items: Jalapeno Mango Margaritas (frozen) = refreshing, a hint of spicy, YUM French Toast flight w/ added fruits & whipped cream = very yummy Trio of Fries flight = crunchy, flavorful Slider flight = pretty good; our fave one was the cheeseburger one Service was attentive and friendly. We had a great time here during the afternoon at Flights! Daniella our server was very nice and accommodating that made our visit so pleasurable. The manager Alejandro was also very pleasant. The three of us enjoyed the margarita flight, sliders, French fries and tacos. We honestly wanted to order the whole menu but were full! Note to the restaurant: please bring happy hour back because I know we would be back every day and it's a great place to bring groups of people together. Our plans made it out the group chat! We found this place on Tiktok and what stuck out to us is that, they serve every order with 3 items!! It gives you leverage on everyone to share & try new things which I love. This is the perfect pregame food or even a chill night for drinking & bar food. My ranked favorites would have to be: - Wings flight (10/10) -Mac & cheese flight (10/10) - fries flight (8/10) & filled to the brim! - Slider flight (5/10) I had the pulled pork & the meat was still cold, what held it together was the BBQ sauce. -Wedge salad (4/10) I'm just not a big fan of this style salad. & the marg I received was pretty good! The flavor was pickled pear. It was a smaller glass than I expected but 3 drinks came out to $24 which is pretty cheap! You get what you pay for. The ambiance is cool, we came on a Friday night which unexpectedly wasn't that busy. I love the layout of the place, it's pretty spacious and I could imagine it being crowded for sports nights. They feature a plane hanging from the ceiling, lots of seating arrangements, & a bar area with a TV. Would I come here again? Yes definitely! Everything was a great portion sizing and for a group size this was perfect. We couldn't even finish all of our food. I love the vibe in here and all of the workers are friendly. Not busy at all on a Thursday evening. Chill vibes. My small group of 3 only ordered drinks & appetizers but we left satisfied so that was good enough. We enjoyed the Beer Flight & Mojito Flight (~3.5 oz each cup). My choice of flavor of the mojito flight: Watermelon. Perfect. Our appetizers: calamari, onion rings, & ceviche. My fave of the 3: the Ahi Tuna Ceviche with the plantain chips. Servers were friendly & attentive. No complaints. read more

Nice, airplane themed restaurant in Burlingame. The decor is pretty cute and the layout is nice and spacious. We tried the hash flights from the brunch menu, the mimosa flights we delicious, and the classic breakfast. We also started off with calamari which was crispy and flavorful. The waiter greets you and refers to himself as a pilot. They're pretty quick to clear your plates and empty glasses, but it took a little while to actually place our order. The food is pretty affordable and they have a lot to choose from. I'd come back! read more

WHEN: Mon @4pm PARKING - a bit tricky but managed to find one a couple of blocks away. Metered but free after 6pm. A friend and I were actually on our way to a different restaurant when she casually gave me quick tour of the area (which I find so quaint!). She briefly mentioned a place that does flights on both food and cocktails. I got excited and we ended up coming here. There was very few people with lots of seating available both inside and outside on both the sidewalk and parklet (with heating lamps!). I was sad they don't do happy hour (which I later I learned only takes place on weekends). It's okay, I was still excited! This place is quite spacious inside and I love the decor. They have an actual plane hanging from the ceiling inside!!!! Here's what my friend and I shared: MOJITO FLIGHT - $24 + STRAWBERRY - my favorite! I love all that strawberry flavor and the garnish. + CLASSIC - oh this was a nice one! Not too sweet and what you'd expect from a usual mojito (but not as minty) + WATERMELON - cute melon ball garnish, but I didn't really taste any watermelon. I don't remember much of this drink. MARTINI FLIGHT - $24 + COSMOPOLITAN - this was a nice one and it was lovely too! + LEMON DROP - I feel you can never go wrong with lemon drops. Love that generous sugar rim. + APPLETINI - the flavor of apple in a cocktail will always bring me back to my college days when I'd shoot cheap liquor and one of them was a Smirnoff Green Apple. This cocktail reminded me of that...but sweet. AHI TUNA TACO FLIGHT - $18.95 + Classic tuna poke with avocado crema and cilantro. + Spicy tuna with Tobiko and spicy aioli. + Sesame tuna with nori and sweet soy glaze. Oh I loved how the "taco shells" were like deep fried won ton wraps, so it was light, airy and crispy. My only complaint here is that there was not enough sauce. It was like a scribble on the plate for decoration. Had to ask for more. Overall yummy! MAC & CHEESE FLIGHT - $18.95 + Classic four cheese mac and cheese. + Crispy bacon mac and cheese sticks. + Truffle mac and cheese. Definitely for the Mac n cheese lover! I actually taste the truffle flavor, and both the four cheese and truffle macs were creamy and cheesy! As for the crispy bacon Mac and cheese sticks, it was not creamy. I didn't like it much--tastes like a brick of carb. Prolly would be nice to have a side of cheese sauce to dip the dried sticks in. Didn't taste much bacon either. B SMOKED BBQ RIBS FLIGHT - $21.95 + Sweet Memphis BBQ. + Spicy Asian kick BBQ. Smokey Ancho BBQ. + Served with jalapeno cole slaw. They all tasted the same, only one of them has sesame seed toppings, haha. I'm glad there was a good amount of BBQ sauce and the cole slaw was actually good (I don't usually care for them). The ribs were tender enough, and the portions were huge! Overall I was surprised how big the flight portions are. I thought it would be one of each, but there's 2 of everything! So it's enough for 2 people to try! I was so full I had leftovers to take home. I barely finished my third cocktail. We were too full for dessert but I still wanted to do something celebratory since this outing was for my friends birthday. So I asked Daya, our amazing server if there's was something. She told me they can do a little ice cream birthday treat, and it was so cool! As I see her being it out, I noticed that she waited until I had my phone ready to record before she brought it out (so thoughtful!). The ice cream sundae was vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and berries on top. It also came with a candle that looked like a rocket launcher, so no need to blow it out since it diffuses it self after like 12 seconds. We wanted to check out someplace outside of SF. The frozen margaritas caught my wife's attention. We went down for lunch and drinks. I got guacamole and chips and my wife got macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese only comes as a flight. But they were able to offer her just one of the three they normally serve as a macaroni flight. I got a beer and we shared a flight of frozen margaritas, pictured. The young waitress was VERY attentive. Almost too attentive. That's not a bad thing. Just funny when she's coming by to take plates while still dining. Overall, good food, atmosphere, and fine service. The food was yummy. I got the pulled pork sandwich and my boyfriend got the Mac and cheese flight. We also shared a mimosa flight which I adored (my favorite being the watermelon mimosa). I love the theme of the restaurant which made the whole experience better. Being able to have tasting and drink flights was awesome because I am always a little indecisive. I did wish the pulled pork sandwich had barbecue sauce on it but you could always ask for sauce on the side! read more
We had a birthday happy hour here for a friend. They have flights of everything so it's good for sharing and trying a lot of things. Food was fine, nothing too memorable. My friend made a reservation a few weeks in advance. It probably wasn't needed, they weren't busy at 3:30pm on a Saturday. Service was very attentive, maybe too attentive for our first hour. I think three different members of the staff asked us within 10 minutes where our 5th member was (she was sick). Then for the last hour they seem to have forgotten about us. I asked for a refill on chips and nothing came for about 15 minutes; we had to ask again. Cost was $168 total including tax/tips for 6 different flights. We came with a large party and got to try lots of things on the menu - which for a restaurant that specializes in flights, means lots of different flavors and variations of each dish too. Passion fruit cocktail - forget the name but like a 777 or something? Surprisingly good and tart. Quinoa arugula salad - great, would have added ahi tuna if I didn't get the poke flight. Would especially recommend as most the menu is heavy Calamari - good, appreciated the fried sliced jalapeño too Ribs - Tasted over-sauced and bland at the same time which seems impossible. Just didn't taste very meaty? I do prefer dry rub though. Tender and huge portion. Lamb chops - I was excited about this and was a generous entree but salty and the corn was maybe more like hominy instead - large and mealy which I didn't expect or love Tuna tacos - came out at the end but would have preferred earlier, shells were a little soggy so maybe forgotten. Didn't get much flavor but perhaps my tastebuds burnt out by the meats prior to Bread pudding was great, preferred it to crème Brûlée (want more vanilla bean) for me here but folks enjoyed both Ps Mahi mahi - my friend's first time getting mahi mahi and he said remind me never to order this fish again it's so dry I'd probably get the arugula salad and tuna tacos next time, with the passion fruit cocktail! Flights is definitely a novelty place to bring friends and/or for celebrations. I love that everything is literally a flight. I came for a birthday and tried the flight of mojito, fries, ribs, and ahi tuna tacos. The non flight items I tried were the crab sandwich and calamari. Drinks are almost full sized I would like 75% of full size and tastes great! The fries were some of my favorites how can you say no to truffle fries? Ahi tuna tacos could be better for how much they are. I loved the ribs, literally fell off the bones. Calamari is also flavorful and crispy. The crab sandwich was a miss, didn't have much flavor. It is pretty pricey but again for the novelty of it and the fact that there are different flavors I was willing to pay for it. read more
