HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I made an online appointment through their website for an inspection. When I arrived I was told their online system "doesn't talk to them" and that there were no appointments available and their tech was "busy with a 22 hour job" and thus, couldn't do my inspection despite my appointment. why have an online appointment tab on your website if it doesn't "talk" to you! read more

Several years ago, I took my Chrysler Town and Country to Fletcher Automotive for its annual NC inspection and was told it failed inspection due to a leaking rack and pinion, plus a claim that I had a warped and leaking oil pan. When I asked why the oil and power steering fluids were not low and there were no signs of leakage on my garage floor, I was told it doesn't always show up like that and was advised the repairs required to pass inspection would cost more than a thousand dollars for a new rack and pinion and over $300 for a new oil pan. I asked to talk to the technician and see the leaks, and after claiming it would violate their insurance laws to do so they reluctantly lifted the van, where I saw nothing dripping with only a light oil film on the oil pan and nothing that clearly indicated the rack was leaking. I declined the repairs and took it to F&R Automotive, for a second opinion where its owner Fred Vacok (who recently passed away) reported that he found no rack and pinion leak and merely snugged the bolts on the oil pan to fix its minor leak at no charge. I then took the van to another inspection station, where it passed inspection and confirmed both the rack and oil pan were not leaking and later ran that van for an additional 20,000+ more miles before giving it to my granddaughter. It served her well in her last year of High School and into her college years. I've never gone back to Fletcher Automotive and would caution others to be wary. read more

I have been going to Fletcher Automotive for a few years now for two vehicles. My car and truck have had a number of issues fixed by them, and I have never been let down. Their prices are reasonable and they are consistently polite and honest. Is there anything more a customer could want? read more

Tayler has gone out of his way to try to figure out what is wrong with my car. When my car started stalling & needing to be jumped I was shown that the problem was my alternator. I took it back because it was still having problems. They did everything possible to help me without ever trying to sell me other things that "might be a problem". They only charged me for parts and the labor to install them. They didn't charge me for the time they spent trying to recreate a problem. They are honest, treat your car well, and give you MORE than a fair price! And they are always polite and friendly. They are the only place I will be taking my car to now on! read more

They gave me a quote to change my rotors and break pads. It was a little over $1,100. I sent it and got it done. They ended up only charging me a little over $900. Which shows me they are honest and I've had no issues with my breaks or anything else since. I'll be going back to them regularly now. read more

Have been bringing my cars to FCC for years. Recently I needed new tires for my new truck to make it safer towing my travel trailer. Jason spent a good deal of time on the internet with me on a busy Monday until he had found the right tires for me at their supplier. The install was well done and professional as always. This is why I keep coming back to FCC....customer service! Thanks! read more

Great people. They installed a part that was faulty from the manufacturer. Brought it back to them and the took care of a costly repair at no charge. Covered under their 2 yr warranty. Honest and reliable as well as good mechanics. Prices are always competitive. read more

We have used Fletcher car care for years. They have always been honest and very reliable with all of our vehicles. We will not ever take our cars anywhere else. Several times the prices quoted have been lower than the initial price quoted. read more

We lost a car in the flood and our one working vehicle needed a new radiator. They managed to go buy the parts and fix my car same day! Thank you! read more

Pulled me out of a bind once again. Needed to get my brakes done before a trip to the doctor in Minnesota on Monday, and they got me in and out. I called Thursday about a trip that I had to leave for on Sunday, and they got me in on Friday morning and got me out Friday afternoon. That is quality service and customer care. 10 outta 10! I highly recommend this place! read more

I made an appointment for my wife's vehicle for a safety inspection here at the end of December, and it passed, with the brake pads noted at 6 and 5mm. Less than two weeks later, my wife took it in again for an oil change, and they said the pads were at 4 and 3mm, needed replacement, *and* all the rotors were bad. They quoted her a thousand-dollar brake pad and rotor job. A subsequent inspection has confirmed nothing is needed and the pads are still at 6 and 5mm. I'm not sure if this was done because she's a woman and they assumed she wouldn't know better, or whether it's standard for them to up-sell unneeded repairs. Either way, I find it unethical behavior. I called to speak with the manager, explained what happened and why we would not return, and was told "thank you for your call." The pictures are from the two services, 13 days and less than 60 miles apart. read more

I've been bringing my car here for the last 2 years. They are always friendly, accommodating, and reasonable.

Attempted to replace my catalytic converters. Did it wrong and engine light came back on within a couple days. Brought it back to them and they acted completely cold and like it wasn't their fault. I was persistent and had them run the code and came to find out they were wrong and they did botch the repair. So they replace the whole thing again. A couple weeks later now the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter came loose in the middle of driving because they didn't tighten the screws well enough. Very poor skills and they also were completely unprofessional when they botched the repair. read more

I got sent here by Carmax and they were professional, quick, and thorough. They explained the findings/work done on my car. I even appreciated that a car place had a changing table for my little one in the bathroom. Clinch! read more

Hmmm, lots to say. First, in the middle of a pandemic, no one was wearing a mask. In addition, when the mechanic left my vehicle, no cleanup was done to mitigate COVID spread!! As far as my inspection went, well, first I was told that two bulbs were out. With the inspection the total was $50...whoa! I was also informed my brakes were bad, very bad. Interesting, as the inspection last year denoted no issues, and my car has been driven much less because of the pandemic. They said they would pass it "this time," but recommended a "brake inspection" for another $40. When that was done the bill was up to $350. I'm taking back to the place that didn't find anything wrong last year because I believe this place tried to "upsell" me...probably because I'm a senior woman. read more

Moved to Mills River 3 years ago, Fletcher Care Car was suggested and I've been taking my car there since. Great Customer Service, always professional, honest and reasonable. Fletcher car care gives the best service of any business I know. Recently I had to to take my car in and they brought me back home , the 2 hours later called me and said work completed on my car and they came to my house and picked me back up. These guys are awesome. They do great work and are honest. They have decent pricing on tires as well. They deserve 5 stars. read more

I brought my vehicles to Fletcher Car Care for 10 years. I used to rave about it to everyone. I don't know if they changed ownership or management but their staff is not as friendly as before and my last 3 visits I encountered problems that seemed careless and rather than being apologetic, I was met with tension. They rotated my tires and didn't bother to mention that I was missing a lugnut, but called me to try to upsale a cabin air filter. I had no clue that I was driving around with a safety hazard. When I called they admitted to knowing about it. Next visit they didn't bother to reset my maintenance light. Lastly, I took my car there for labor and inspection and they quoted me for it. When they said it was available to pick up they had charged me an additional $30 to replace a tag light bulb without my permission. I refused to pay $25 labor for something I would have completed myself and the attendant wouldn't make eye contact with me, talked over me, talked down to me, and shamed me for the capability of being able to do that myself and said they didn't call me on purpose because they knew I would pick up a lightbulb on the way! I don't know what happened to that place but it's not what it used to be! I tried to give grace and work through these problems, because everyone makes mistakes, but have been met with such hostility. Own it, apologize, and DO BETTER Fletcher Car Care!! read more

Great customer service from the first interaction with the young lady on the phone. Matt the service manager explained the process from front to back so that I could understand. These guys are the best. Excellent quality of work and trust them 100%. They recommend what is necessary and treat my car as if it's their own car which is exactly what I am looking for. They have saved me money by letting me know what I need to do now and what I can put off until later. I live in Asheville and it is worth the drive out to Fletcher Car Care. We take our car here on a regular basis. We trust them implicitly, have always been very happy with their work, their courtesy, and the fact that they get the job done when they say they will. Dont come here the guy in front rude early in the morning, seems like he was still half asleep and was being rude.

BEWARE! SCAM ARTISTS! Tried to SCAM me and charge $450 to replace an AC presssure sensor when they UNPLUGGED the sensor and told me it was bad. Neal got hateful when I said I would not let them touch it. All it needed was 1/3rd more Freon and AC works great! Stay away! read more

I took my car there back in late June to have a a/c compressor installed. Actually the car was towed there. It cost over $400 to have this installed. They had to replace the serpentine belt and the labor to put my a/c compressor in. The following week I took the bill to my mechanic in Asheville and was told for what I had done I had over paid. They triple charged me for my serpentine belt and over charged me for my labor which my mechanic said according to the book is only an hour. When I found this out I was upset. I wen there because my mechanic was booked up and needed to have my car for work. The work was good but being overcharged I will not bring my car there again. read more

New to Fletcher. Decided to take a chance on Fletcher Care Care and I couldn't be more happy that I did. I inherited a grandfathers 1999 Monte and keep it as a 2nd and for sentimental reasons. It sits for long periods without being started and after moving to NC it started having to be jumped frequently and the brakes were squeeking a lot. I was in no hurry so, I told them to take their time and give it a thorough look and after 24 hrs with Mark and the folks at FCC they concluded that it was just the excessive moisture in this new climate that was causing brakes and possibly my GPS was causing dead battery. They had every opportunity to find something and to 'soak' me with a big bill and they didn't. I come from a big midwest city and suspect mechanics and auto care techs are commonplace. Fletcher Care Care will have any and all of our business for as long as we live in the Asheville area and I do and will continue to highly recommend them to anyone that needs auto servicing. Thanks Mark read more

My son has his own car now, a used 12 year old Mazda. It needed some pretty serious repairs. All of the folks there are super nice of course, but Joe, the owner, took the time to come out, shake my son's hand, and talk to him about the repairs on his car and how to watch for future repair needs. He spoke to him straight forward, man to man, didn't talk down to him, but tried to educate him honestly. Those actions went a long way to help me show my son what a true auto mechanic is all about - someone you can trust, a valued resource, and someone you can count on to help you and be honest with you. Fletcher Car Care is a shining example of professionalism, stellar customer service, and the definition of real gentlemen. My son's car is now road ready, and I can rest easy. read more

From out of town and had car trouble while travelling for work. It was a Friday afternoon and I had a long drive to get home. Neill looked at my car right away, diagnosed bad rear wheel bearing - major safety issue and they got me right in. Neill even drove to a local dealership to pick up the replacement part. They had the opportunity to take advantage of my emergency situation and they did not, they went above and beyond and within $$$reason as well. If I lived in Fletcher, this is where I would go for car repairs. Thank you guys! read more

Thought they took too long for labor (2 hours longer than most shops project for job) and overcharged. Didnt fix problem when I picked up my car. Took it to another shop that I knew to be reputable Dale's Automotive in Flat Rock. Definitely would not recommend. read more
