Joey did a little research and gave me information about the cost of two potential repairs that one might expect with the vehicle that we are considering purchasing. It's so nice to talk to a real person with knowledge, and I appreciated the morning phone call with this business.

Several years ago, I took my Chrysler Town and Country to Fletcher Automotive for its annual NC…read moreinspection and was told it failed inspection due to a leaking rack and pinion, plus a claim that I had a warped and leaking oil pan. When I asked why the oil and power steering fluids were not low and there were no signs of leakage on my garage floor, I was told it doesn't always show up like that and was advised the repairs required to pass inspection would cost more than a thousand dollars for a new rack and pinion and over $300 for a new oil pan. I asked to talk to the technician and see the leaks, and after claiming it would violate their insurance laws to do so they reluctantly lifted the van, where I saw nothing dripping with only a light oil film on the oil pan and nothing that clearly indicated the rack was leaking. I declined the repairs and took it to F&R Automotive, for a second opinion where its owner Fred Vacok (who recently passed away) reported that he found no rack and pinion leak and merely snugged the bolts on the oil pan to fix its minor leak at no charge. I then took the van to another inspection station, where it passed inspection and confirmed both the rack and oil pan were not leaking and later ran that van for an additional 20,000+ more miles before giving it to my granddaughter. It served her well in her last year of High School and into her college years. I've never gone back to Fletcher Automotive and would caution others to be wary.

My friend and I were broken down on the side of the road for hours waiting for a tow from USAA…read more After the third tow truck from USAA canceled on us we were a bit nervous about our next steps. We called Black Mountian Automotive and with out hesitation they had a tow truck on the road and got us with in 20 minutes of hanging up. They took us back to the store and repaired our car and sent us on our way. While we were in the store we had the chance to talk to the kind woman behind the counter and met her dog Winn-Dixie! They allowed us to bring our dog inside as well. They stayed open to finish our repair and make sure we were all okay. We also got to buy some earrings that the owners mother made! Everything about our experience with this shop was excellent and I highly recommend calling them if you are ever in a bind.

All there is to go on is a little sign by the road that says "Free A/C check"... They are professional, knowledgable, car hobbiysts (that's always good in my book), they gave me a ride back home from the shop, then came and got me when it was ready! Dolphin has done some extensive work on my older car over the years, some that was quite expensive…read moreand I've wondered about the quality of their work as the results seem less than spectacular. I don't know much about cars in general and tend to accept what a mechanic tels me. That said, I had some necessary work done by a mechanic at Dolphin automotive the week after hurricane Helene came through. All the other local auto mechanic shops were destroyed or out of service due to lack of electric and water service. I was charged $95 for diagnosis (? I already knew what was wrong with the car) plus $95 for a switch (??) and $95 for labor. My car ran just fine when I drove it into Dolphin's station that day. After the work was done, which by the way, did not involve the engine, the car started missing badly as soon as I drove out. Back at the mechanic, told me a part had been broken and I needed to replace the entire assembly. Denied having broken the part, which I find hard to believe. Why would my car run fine before they worked on it, to not run afterwards? As I stated before, Dolphin mechanics have worked on my car several times and have done an ok job, nothing outstanding. I now suspect they pad their invoices but can't prove anything, just like I can't prove the worker broke my part. However, after this last incident I will no longer patronize the shop and will not recommend them to anyone I know.

I'm not one to write reviews but I felt like this dealership & sales associate absolutely deserved acknowledgment. He was a pleasure to test drive vehicles with & look forward to working with him in the future. He put me at ease & I felt very comfortable & confident in shopping with him. He & the dealership was fabulous not only pre-purchase but after; that says a lot to me as a new buyer to the Hunter dealership. I am truly impressed with the thought & detail which the dealership puts into each vehicle, its presentation for the buyer, the ease of the entire process, it was smooth & nothing but perfection. The manager even sent Jeff, who is a pleasure to get to know, to pick me up an hour away to come test drive vehicles. Jeff is truly a gem to the Hunter family. I've purchased from dealers Land Rover, Mercedes & BMW, all twice, in both CA & AL & Hunter has by far blown them all out of the water as far as quality & service. Hunter Volvo & Alex (& Jeff) are absolutely five stars in the ways one would want when shopping for a Volvo! I'm thrilled I shopped & purchase from them. I look forward to working with them for service needs.

Amazing Customer Service!…read more While following someone to drop off their car to be repaired, my tire blew out. I had a two-year old in the car and no AAA. It would have been more than $50 and more than an hour for someone to come fix it. The only luck that I had that day, was that my tire blew out close to Dave's. Joe drove across the highway to my car (saving me the towing fee,) figured out the tire size, ordered the tires and drove back to fix my car. He did all of this while I took my son home so that he could nap. If it wasn't for Joe, I would have been standing on the side of a highway, in the rain, with a cranky, tired two-year-old for what would have seemed like a lifetime. And I would've spent a lot more money. Thank you, Joe. Thank you Dave's.
