I reached out to Subaru's-R-Us because I was advised to replace my engine, rather than take apart the whole thing and reseal it for problems that may or may not have been there after it overheated in late December. They explained everything very well, booked me, and even tried to squeeze me in earlier, but they are too popular! They got my car finished on schedule. They were friendly and answered what someone else might have considered a dumb question. Like many people, sometimes I need to hear something one or two ways one or two times. They were very empathetic and understanding and took the time to work with me. I think this shop displays kindness and integrity. If you drive a Subie rememberer to check your oil so you don't blow up your engine, even if you just bought it brand new you still gotta check your oil in between service intervals those subie engines make oil disappear. read more

After the dealer quoted me $550 for each of the 2 wheel bearings I had to replace on my Subaru with very, very low mileage, I called Subarus Are Us and got quoted $400 each. After bringing my car to them, Kristy called to let me know that she thought I had too few miles on my car to already have to replace 2 bearings and recommended I call the dealer to see if they would do anything. Took her advice and, with an assist from our favorite Subaru salesperson at the dealership, found out the wheel bearings are still under warranty and they would fix them for free. It would have been awesome had the dealer checked to see if they were covered before quoting me such a high price, but Kristy saved the day! She could have just done the work and taken my money, but instead she saved me almost $1000. They will get all my future repair business. They're not just less expensive, they have integrity and that wins my loyalty every time! read more

Subarus R Us! Wow. What can you say...these people are honest, hard working, reasonable and do a great job. They even did a head gasket job on my old Honda Del Sol (not a Subaru.....imagine!). BEWARE. They are not honest at all. They will charge you for hours they did not work. I came in needing 2 rear brakes. I have a 10-month-old and came in alone with her. I sat and waited for one hour. I was billed nearly $500. I came home and told my husband who was shocked at the price. He's a mechanic himself. I looked over the bill and noticed I was charged for 3 hours of labor, yet, it only took 1 hour. I was never given an estimate, I did not approve this extra charge in advance. I was completely taken advantage of and ripped off. I have disputed the charge and they refuse to refund me for the two hours they DID NOT WORK. Additionally, they heavily upcharge for parts. Someone in management should educate their staff of the importance of customer service. I called Subaru's-R-Us to inquire about bringing my Forester in for repair. The man who answered the phone was nothing less than completely unfriendly and was a smart aleck when I asked when a good time to bring it in would be. Because of this I took my business elsewhere. If you want people's business it begins with the first point of contact and having great customer service. What a good experience. They were recommended to me by a few different people. Because they are located in Asheville and I live in another nearby county, I hesitated to make the trip. My Subaru had been acting sluggish and while I had replaced the spark plugs and made many repairs on my own, I just couldn't get it to drive well, for nearly 2 years the check engine light was on. I have to give Subarus 'R Us the credit for enabling me to continue to drive my 1990 Honda to the present day. They have never failed to diagnose a problem, to locate parts even for such an old car, or to repair it promptly at a better rate than we would possibly find anywhere else. They are incredibly honest, and once didn't even charge for repairing my difficult back windshield wiper because they weren't sure that they had actually managed to fix it! (Of course they had. This was almost 2 years ago and it still works.) I wouldn't possibly still be driving this car if we had to depend on dealers--both because of cost, and because of the issue of accessing parts for old cars. We are extremely fortunate to have Subarus 'R Us here in our area. read more
