I came to this Fleet Feet looking for a pair of Mizunos. I had just run the Honolulu marathon and left my shoes in Hawaii. I knew the exact pair I was looking for the staff gladly helped me. I was very impressed with the staff knowledge of their products without being pushy. I tried the pair that I wanted on, but they didn't have the color I wanted in my size. They gladly checked the Fleet Feet in Santa Cruz to see if they had the color and sure enough they did! I was able to pay for the shoes the same day and they said that in two days I should hear from them that they had the shoes at the Monterey store. Sure enough, on Saturday I got a call and the shoes had arrived. I was out of town, but the employee assured me they would be waiting for me when I arrived. I picked the shoes up tonight after calling to confirm their close time (Yelp says 6 pm, but I called and they actually close at 7 pm). Since I was able to make it after work (score!-I work in Salinas so the original posted 6 pm close time would have been cutting it too close) I got my shoes tonight and ran 3 miles in them. Needless to say, I am very happy with this stores selection, customer service, non-pushy attitude, attentiveness and flexible hours. I will definitely be back next time I need my running shoes. Thank you! read more

Loved checking it out during big sur race weekend! Lots of runner gear to check out and grab if you forgot to bring them.

Friendly & knowledge staff! A great selection of shoes as well as insoles. My daughter has had foot problems, they had her measured & evaluated with their high tech equipment. Elly was our associate today & she quickly helped my daughter get fitted & brought out an assortment of shoes to try on. She was patient & amazing! I will definitely be back & refer people as well. read more

Such a great first experience at Fleet Feet! Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and helped my husband and I figure out which shoes would be the most supportive and comfortable for our job. He took his time, answered all of our questions, and made the process so easy. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone having a hard time finding the right fit or all-day comfort! read more

Decided it was time for my husband to get some quality shoes. He's on his feet all day. We walked in and was immediately assisted. The sales associate did a scan of my husbands feet and explained in great deal what kind of support he needed. She brought out 4 different styles and my husband found a perfect fit. Highly recommend this store! read more

Fleet feet never disappoints. They offer military discount. I am always satisfied with their customer service and shoe selection. Very knowledgeable sales reps. I appreciate their custom fitting using their feet scanners. Strongly recommend. They also offer training for running races. I'll be looking into it. The only issue is availability from my end. Walked out with my new pair of ASICS GT 2000 10 yesterday. Love them! Ran with them yesterday in downtown Monterey with my family. read more

By far the best experience I've had here! My boyfriend and I planned a trip to Disneyland and need a comfortable walking shoe. Dest or Dez was so sweet and so educated on all different types of shoes and styles. I appreciated this because she was very honest and didn't want to just make a sale but help us out! Give this girl a RAISE!!! read more

The service and assistance was amazing! I really wish I could remember the kids name. He saved my trip! I had gotten new shoes before my trip and thought I was good to go but they killed my knees. I didn't know if I was going to be able to enjoy all the walking adventures we had planned. We stopped in Monterey for a couple days and my husband told me there was a shoe store not to far away. I went over there and the young guy that helped me was AMAZING. He brought out a bunch of boxes, listened to what I said, and was able to help me find a pair that saved the rest of my trip. I still had the aquarium to go to and was only half way through our week long trip. He suggested ASICS and I felt instant relief in my knees. Thank you again for your help and saving our family trip. If someone from the store sees this please let me know the kids name so I can update it and give him the credit he deserves. I was there on 7/24 in the afternoon. read more

First visit to any Fleet Feet at the recommendation of a friend who also had a great experience. Kasey came out and assisted me by listening to how I am used to shopping and what I wear, and what I want. The shoes she suggested were great. I chose one in my usual brand Mizuno, but better than anything I've tried on before. And I plan to go back in a couple of weeks to order a pair of New Balance. These suggestions were based on my requests for cushion for walking and standing but in a running shoe style, not price point. No sales pressure, just a great experience. Average prices from what I can tell. read more

Out walking my dogs on a beautiful Thursday afternoon (9/6/22) when we walked by this store. I went in to look around as I am always ready and willing to buy new running shoes. This store had a beautiful selection of athletic shoes, clothing and accessories. I have tried every brand of running shoe out there and Asics are one of the few brands I trust to fit and sustain my long runs without fail. They had a couple different pair of Asics that really caught my eye. Since I had my two dogs with me, (chiweenies) which is the equivalent of two obnoxious, satanic teenagers, it was very hard to look around and enjoy myself as they kept fighting and causing a scene. I ended of leaving when another dog walked in, (a nice, respectful dog) which in turn caused my heathen fur kids to go nuts. The whole scene was chaotic and embarrassing. I brought them back to the hotel, where we are now, and put them in time out. I'm crying, wondering why I had to have two fur children when my human children were almost grown and my freedom was just around the corner. I had to have two fur kids because I felt incomplete. And now my athletic shoe collection is suffering. I will definitely go back in while we are in town because I want those hunter green LuLuLemon pants and the Asics I loved. read more

I was greeted and offered help very quickly. Aubrey took amazing care of me. I'm not a super experienced runner so I really appreciated all of her insight. I learned about my feet. I learned about my ball width.... What more can you ask for? read more

I shop here a lot...usually I research and know what I want when I go in...this is because I NEVER get any in depth help with what shoe to purchase...I am an avid runner and I spend a lot of money on shoes and equipment, but I like to spend my money effectively...It would be nice for the sales people to ask questions or offer advice on what shoe works best when they don't have my size in another shoe (which is often)...maybe the sales people just don't know much about shoes or maybe I am expecting too much. read more

I was pleased with my service and attention the associate took to help me find the perfect shoe. As soon I walked in I was greeted and told it would be a few min since they were helping other customers. I went in because I have flat feet and I am a active runner. The associate measured my feet and conducted some test to see what type of shoe I might need. The prices were very reasonable and you can't put a price on your feet and body. I would recommend this to other active runners and will be referring friends and family. I will get my next pair again from here. read more

Bummed.. I used to shop at Fleet Feet when it was located In Del Monte, and when this location first opened I had great service. What I loved was the informed sales people who knew shoes and were customer focused. Today I drove from Salinas to purchase two new pair of shoes. The young man who "helped" me did not seem to be enthused to be there. I gave him my size and brand, and he walked slowly to the back and 10 minutes later came out with the wrong size. I then showed him two styles....he went back and came out with something different and said, "we don't have those." In the past they would have offered to order them, or based on knowledge, recommended an alternate. Nothing. Super disappointed. They just lost a $350+ sale Off to try the Treadmill.... read more

Excellent customer service! Great community outreach for runners of all levels! Best running shoe store in area!

I went in there hoping there would be a treadmill and more customization in the shoe selection process. It was very self guided which was fine. They did have a decent amount of shoe options in the brand I wanted so that was enough for me! read more

Being in the military, I need new running shoes often. That being said, I usually go for the cheaper pair over the higher performance one. Was recommended to try out Feet Fleet by a friend. Was glad I did. They gave me several shoes to try and helped me find the perfect combination of performance, comfort, and price. Wound up getting a shoe brand I've never even heard of and I don't regret it. Great service!!! read more

Great service, great shoes, great gifts (who knew?!) I am not a runner and I think of fleet feet as a great store fir runners. To my surprise I discovered it's also a great store for gifts! Like the running shorts I bought for my son, and the special socks my husband likes, and the lightweight ON cloud shoes i wear shopping or weightlifting. The big find was Fleet Feet has the best collection of amazing sunglasses in town. Only $25 a pair, polarized with exceptional clarity, sturdy, and in an amazing array of colors (black, hot pink, orange, aqua, tortoise, yellow, khaki, multicolor, purple, blue green, black brown or reflective lenses- you name it, they have it.) I bought some for me, hubby, three sons and their partners, friends -everything from conservative tortoiseshell for my brother to wild multicolor yellow/pink/black for my son's girlfriend. With everyone wearing masks, good sunglasses are the accessory everyone uses. If we want good local stores to survive, we have to patronize them -and fleet feet makes that a pleasure (did I mention the staff is terrific?) read more

I would recommend this as a way for runner's to shop local and get great service. I came in to retire my current pair of distance shoes and Javier helped me get into a pair of Saucony Guide 9's that are awesome. I usually wear a different brand, but based on what I was looking for to improve my training he honed in on a pair that worked. Deals: they offer half off on a pair of socks if you get it with the shoes, which is fine since I needed some and I think it's good to wear a sock similar to what you'll run in when testing shoes. They offer 10% off for military, which is cool since there's a ton of service members in the area who appreciate the support. Also, check in on Yelp*, if you spend more over $150 you get another $15 off. The fitting and shoe test was a good experience. Javier let me test several combinations of sizes across 4 or 5 shoes. The store opens up to a back parking lot and you can take the shoes for a short spin for a couple laps to get a feel for their performance. read more

Fantastic shoe fitting, very knowledgeable staff. The day before the Big Sur Half I was in town and realized I had forgotten my running shoes (gasp!). Went to Fleet Feet hoping to find the exact model shoe I have been running in for years (Saucony, Guide). Unfortunately they don't carry that exact model. Luckily even though they don't carry the shoe, the man fitting me knew exactly the characteristics of that shoe and knew which shoe would most closely match in terms of fit, support level, drop, etc. How incredible is that? I tried on a few pairs just in case, discussed option but ultimately knew his recommendation was on point. The staff was so friendly and helpful, crisis averted! Thank you Fleet Feet! read more

After sticking to a running plan for 3+ months, I felt confident enough that I would continue running to invest in a new pair. We were visiting family in Monterey so we stopped at Fleet Feet on our way out of town. The store is clean & welcoming. Jessica helped me by first doing all the fancy feet & stride measurements they do at FF. When we found that my stride/feet would allow for a wide variety of options, she brought out several options that would have different feels. It turned out that the first pair she brought out was the pair I went with, after running around the store in them & Jessica providing feedback. At no point did I feel rushed -she said I could try on all the shoes if I wanted. She was friendly & personable. I felt very comfortable. Time (and miles) will tell if the shoes were the right choice but I know it won't be Jessica's fault if they're not. Plus, Fleet Feet has the awesome 60 day return policy. Thanks for the great experience! read more

The girl who helped me was really knowledgeable. The store was clean and had a nice atmosphere. And the shoes I bought were hella comfortable. This place was a way better route to go than just grabbing shoes at target or Payless. read more

As everyone has said on here, very knowledgeable staff! I came in looking for a good pair of running shoes. I do 5K's, but am not consistent with my training. The (new) owner, Russ (who also owns the Fleet Feet in Aptos) went above & beyond. I told him that I have plantar fasciitis in both feet. He took the time to explain what would help, gave me a quick massage (with some equipment) & found knots I never knew I had in my calves, gave me some quick tips for my running form, AND found the right shoe for me. I was very impressed by both the knowledge and service provided. I will most certainly go back again. I'm sold! read more

During my business travel to Monterey, an old foot issue really started to flair up on me. So in search of a place to find some decent inserts for my shoes, I came across Fleet Feet. I was fortunate that this store is staffed with such caring people, in particular, Kristyn. She listened with empathy and took care of my feet as if I were family. You could definitely see and feel the care she has to do right by people. After nearly an hour of trying different inserts and other options for pain relief, I settled on a pair of inserts that I happily wore out of the store. Within the next few days, I returned to the store to consider additional items as I felt very welcomed, not just as a customer, but as a person. And for me, when I am away from home, it is nice to meet people in a business that see you as more than a dollar sign. Plus, Fleet Feet's generous return policy certainly backs that up from a corporate level. So whether you are in the market for something new for your feet, or need relief for an old injury or condition, I HIGHLY recommend you stop and see these folks in Monterey... hopefully you will find what you were looking for, but you will definitely find something I bet you weren't, and that's to be treated like a human being by their awesome staff... THANK YOU KRISTYN!!!! read more

Best shopping experience ever. First of all, I was somewhat intimidated to go into an athletic store. The staff were amazing and made me feel welcomed. The foot imaging narrowed down my shoe selection. One of the only, if not the only, place to have a knowledgeable staff person help you with trying on the shoes. I walked out wearing my new shoes and felt like this non-runner could go charging down the street. I'm bringing my family in next. read more

Very helpful staff. Good shoes, discounts available if purchasing for school or doctors recommendation.

I just had the best shoe shopping experience of my life. The folks here were so knowledgeable and helpful! I feel like a million bucks with these bad boys on my feet. Plus, they treat you so well. Also, you have 60 days to wear the shoes and exchange if you want. You really can't beat that. You just know you are paying for quality. I'm sold! I will return. read more

Since Covid started I have been ordering my running shoes online. It's frustrating because you don't know how they are going to fit based on the pictures so I have ordered and sent back at least a dozen. Since restrictions have eased I decided to visit an actual running shoe store and try some on. I was in the store for 15 minutes; 3 clerks and 3 customers and not one clerk acknowledged my presence or said " I'll be with you soon". I finally just turned around and walked out. You'd think the local store would relish the business but I guess not. read more

A friend of mine recommended Fleet Feet to me & I'm so glad she did. I just got into running within the past 6 months and my shoes were not up to par. Kris, the store manager, was beyond helpful. She took over an hour+ to help me find the right pair of shoes. She even put them on for me and it was the easiest shoe buying experience ever. Haha. I cannot say enough about the customer service she provided. She is extremely down to earth and knows every. single. product. in the store. If I could, I'd promote her! Thank you Kris! I will be back! (And tell everyone to visit you!) read more

I was in medical need of insoles and a pair of more supportive shoes. Went into the store this morning. Both of the sales people were busy with customers so I wrote my name on the waiting for help board. Waiting about 5 mins for Zack to finish with a customer and a sale. While I was waiting neither of the sales people even acknowledge me or said the standard "we'll be with you in a minute. As soon as Zack started working with me another customer came in. He stopped helping me to take apart a display and check a size on a shoe. Went into the back to look up if the shoe was a available at the other store which it was. Put me into a shoe that wasn't on shoe recommended nor the shoe I asked to see. I told him it didn't fit right felt too large. He told me it was the right size for my foot. Left me again standing there in a shoe that wasn't what I needed never pulled the insoles for me to try in my current shoe which was my number one request and moved to another computer area with the other customer to try and figure out when they might be getting the new shoe in. He should have asked her to wait a minute while he worked with me. In the mean time the other sales guy was just sitting there watching his customer walk around in the third pair of shoes he had tried on. All in all some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. I even left out the rude comments about when you age your foot grows and how he could read the recommendation sheet without me zooming in on the photo. Won't ever go back to fleet feet Monterey. read more

I love the Fleet Feet Sports! The owners of both the Aptos & Monterey locations, Russ and Tina, are dedicated to serving their community and are very generous in supporting local community programs! I joined my first training group that they offer about a year ago. It was a life changing event for me! This amazing group of Fleet Feet Coaches and Team Members took me under their wings to work with me on my running abilities...which stared at basically none. Over the past year I participated in several of their training groups and went from running hardly at all to running two half marathons and several 5k and 10k's. The best part of this experience is the friends that I have met and the uplifting encouragement to continue my journey! Another awesome thing about this store and their staff is the customer service that they offer in helping to get the right running or walking shoes and apparel that are specific to your needs. It has made such a difference having happy feet when I'm exercising! The turning point for me as part of this amazing community is the beginning of the year Nutrition/Weight Management program "Ton of Fun." I joined last year for the first time and looking forward to the 2016 program as it has expanded in ways that help me to re program the nutritional and exercise choices that I make. The best part of being a part of the "Ton of Fun" program is the community environment for all types of people that have a common goal...to make a change in life nutrition choices! Looking forward to another great year of being a part of the Fleet Feet Community! read more
