I'm visiting from LA and was lucky enough to be in Duvall during the same time that Flavour Bistro opened. I've been here 3 times in its first 3 weeks since opening. Drinks check. Food check. Atmosphere check. For those who want to just grab drinks, there's a 7 seated bar with a couple high tops. The specialty cocktail list is well thought out. The Sage Martini is delish. Get to know Sierra on a night when she is behind the bar. She took excellent care of us. Grab the truffle popcorn and Mushroom Rangoon and a second cocktail. Yum. We had such a good time that we came back for dinner in the main dining room. The owner, Chef Sean took especially good care of us, making sure we were total satisfied. The full menu has a wide variety of offerings from duck, kangaroo, chicken, salmon, too much to remember. In short, the food is amazing and the vibe is perfect. We went to Flavour Bistro on Thursday for their soft opening. We have been waiting for months for the new place to open and Chef Sean did not disappoint! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and I can't wait for a sunny day so we can sit on the patio. There were three of us in our party and we shared 2 appetizers and the bison rib eye and the pork shanks. They were both wonderful and prepared perfectly. The sauce on the pork was amazing! What a fabulous restaurant that Duvall is lucky to have. We have been here quite a few times so it is due for a review. Everything here is great and the chef is very innovative. The servers and front of the house are always friendly and very helpful. I haven't had anything here I didn't like and almost everything is locally grown and sustainable. Even the burger is one of the best I have had and I have had burgers everywhere. With a new rotational menu coming every week you won't get bored coming here. Prices are fair for a small town and the food is something found in the big city. It is not only amazing in flavor but the presentation is out of this world. read more

This place being 5/5 is one of those mysteries I'll never understand. It also goes with the theme I've been seeing of Seattle people not knowing what actual good food is. Either that or this restaurant is paying yelp a lot of money. My date and I both knew this place was a train wreck as soon as we walked in. It reeks of a clueless place driven by a clueless owner. Like someone described over the phone what a fine dining experience was like and someone tried to imitate it from memory. We were both trying to be polite to the other, so we ate there anyway. The experience was successful in bringing us closer together and we decided that being polite instead of honest was something we didn't want in a relationship. This was the best part of our experience here. Food: The nicest thing I can say is that it wasn't inedible. The less nice thing is that it wasn't good. Not even close. The pretentious presention must be there to distract from the lack of "Flavour" haha. We ordered some of the more basic things on the menu to give them the best chance of success. And they still failed. Im going to go out on a limb here and guess that they are serving frozen food. Which is unacceptable with the abundance of delicious stuff here in Washington and doubly unacceptable for what they are charging. My reasoning is #1 the texture and taste. #2 the menu is huge and the restaurant was pretty empty. I know from an inventory standpoint that it would be next to impossible to keep the volume of fresh product in stock for a menu that size. Maybe it's not frozen and they just can't cook. Idk. Point it the food was way below average. Service: Completely clueless and overwhelming. They fit right into the theme of "trying to hard and being driven by a clueless owner." All the servers were really on edge and coming up to the table to a point where it was interfering with the meal. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the meal was more about our interaction with the restaurant employees than eating our food or enjoying each others company. At the time we dismissed it was "maybe it's just a new restaurant and they don't know better." Then a guy, who I'm guessing was the owner, came up out of nowhere and put his hand on my shoulder while I was eating. Im there with a fork in my hand, flirting with my date, and all of a sudden being touched by a man wearing the "I'm married and have given up on my appearance" light blue jeans and white new balance shoes. Like come on. I thought maybe someone had overheard us criticizing the place and he was trying to check in. But then I saw him doing it to every single table. Touching then all. This person really brought the whole experience together for us. It all made sense now. The restaurant itself: They must have spent all their money on glassware and not had any left over for touch up paint.... seriously. Glasses fucking everywhere. Tons of them. I know what they are. But no one does that anymore. There were a ton of holes in the walls and other out of place things that really went with the lack of attention to detail of the food. Sorry for the long review. The existence of this inspired a lot of thought deep thinking. How on earth is it possible to exist in that condition and still have 5/5 stars. Do people not notice? Do Seattle people just really have no taste? Is the mark of a good restaurant actually catering to its demographic even if they have no taste? Should I give them 5 stars because of this? Is this evidence that the pay for ratings conspiracy on yelp actually exists? (that was disproven by a Stanford study btw). Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. They also double charged my credit card. Two weeks later when I noticed, it was just like this little extra cherry on top to the whole thing. read more

My husband and I finally made it to the restaurant. We really enjoyed the decor and ambience. There was a three piece ensemble playing that really made it enjoyable as well as the silent movie being played on the wall of the bar. The entire staff were really wonderful and friendly. I started with the roast beet salad. I could eat it every day it was that good. My husband started with the micro green salad and commented it tasted like it had been "picked 10 minutes ago." He also had the sea bass and commented it was the best sea bass he'd ever had. I ordered the braised rabbit with heirloom carrots - fabulous! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you like good food, good service and great atmosphere, this is the place to be. read more

Prepare yourself to have an extraordinary experience when you dine at Flavour Bistro. It begins when you enter and are enveloped immediately into the European - Elegant- Refined atmosphere. The decorations, colors and art all speak to you of the wonderful time you're about to have. Moments after you've been greeted and seated by the host/ hostess your server will be at your table either taking your drink/ appetizer orders or making fabulous suggestions to start your meal. I personally enjoyed the locally sourced Tempura Mushrooms with the sweet soy and the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta. As I placed my order for Chicken Mushroom Pappardelle and my husband's Eggplant Curry, our server Ciera chatted with us in a comfortable yet professional manner, repeating back our order to us to conform everything. Less than 10 minutes later our piping hot dishes arrived, as they were placed in front of us the aroma alone was enough to satisfy. My pasta was perfect, the cream sauce was the consistency of velvet with hints of the garlic, parm and shallots, the chicken was tender and juicy. My husband's curry was equally as tasty, the vegetables maintained their flavour and worked wonderfully with the mildly spicy curry with coconut milk. My husband chose this amazing place to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Food and service both 5+ stars. Truffle popcorn....must try. Tempura Mushrooms rocked our world. I wanted to love it. It has great reviews here and on Yelp so we decided to try it. If I was basing it on the atmosphere alone I would have turned around and walked out right then. They had live music that was so loud I couldn't even hear the hostess. It's a small location and the music was overpowering. I felt instantly that they were trying way too hard to be the new "it" thing. I'm not sure anything was prepared by the actual chef as he was walking around the dining room the whole time. So maybe it's better when he cooks. For starters we had the salmon bruschetta. We started with the best part of the meal and it went downhill from there. The crostinis we're not properly crisped, but the salmon was amazing. Then a caprese salad with out of season, tasteless tomatoes. My husband had Peking duck that was overcooked. I had duck and pork stroganoff. The duck was delicious, but I was not a fan of the pork sausage. The pasta and sauce were good, though the sun-dried tomatoes were pretty tough and some were really large. Then the worst part of the meal was the creme brulee. It's pretty hard to mess it up, but they did. The sugar was so thick that in attempting to caramelize the sugar they melted the filling, so it was a soup. This place is pretty pricey. A hidden little gem in Duvall. Walked by the kitchen to our small booth by the window and Chef was all smiles and greetings! Beautiful linens on the table and a very interesting menu. We ordered the champagne crab fondue for our appetizer... very good. I had the veal chop with garlic mash potatoes and mushrooms which was excellent. My Husband chose the chicken with cranberry sauce and asparagus... he said it was delicious and very flavorful.The Argentine Llama Malbec was so good I ordered another glass! To finish our very enjoyable meal we had the house made tiramisu topped with a sugar crown. Our waitress made us feel so welcomed and relaxed. It was a very expensive meal but the quality of food and service made it a memorable experience. We will return for a special occasion. read more

New to Duvall! A nice change for our area. Beautiful decor. Cozy bar area, lots of dinner seating and out door seating for warm days. Food is presented with a flair and is very unique and delish! Service is top notch, reservations are recommended but if you are in the area don't be afraid to stop in, we were seated within a few minutes. I see this as more of an adult venue and not for small children. It sits in the back of the building and has a valley view. Parking behind building as well as street parking. We have been to Flavour Bistro multiple times since it opened a little over a year ago and have never had a bad meal. Any service issues from early on have long since disappeared, and the food...it is so good! We're particularly fond of the wild honey polenta at brunch (Sundays from 10am-2pm) and very excited that Chef Sean has added his venison lasagna to the permanent dinner menu. There are some adventurous choices, often worth it even if just to say you've eaten python or kangaroo! But don't let those exotic options scare you off, there are plenty of more mainstream and fantastic dishes that are 10/10. Highly recommend, and definitely make reservations to get free truffle popcorn as an appetizer - that deliciousness alone is worth the trip! read more

Just about a year later, we came back (again for our anniversary.) As last time, food was amazing. More complementary popcorn (apparently everyone with reservations gets some). Grilled caesar salad- holy cow it was good. Sounds kind of strange to grill a salad but it works. We shared the alligator frites which we devoured thoroughly. This year I got scallops again, and again was completely wowed by them. Perfectly cooked, just a dab of mornay sauce, stuffed with dungeness crab and accompanied by some excellent polenta. My husband got the flaming duck, which he loved. Once again we were given a complementary dessert for our anniversary- a nice touch! Also got the chocolate lava cake, with some 151 poured on it and set ablaze. The chef came out to say hello twice. Service very attentive. We. Are. Fans. This is now our anniversary tradition, but before next October we hope to bring our grown children here for a special treat. There are multiple vegetarian options, which is a big plus. In fact, I'd say that Flavour Bistro is giving some of the more well known Eastside haunts a run for their money. It's a great spot for an evening cocktail, hands down the best happy hour around and you're in for a real treat if you stay for a meal. It has quickly become my date night go to spot. Awesome place! Great atmosphere and cute view and in a precious little part of Duvall. The food was great fantastic the lobster pasta dish I had was explosive with a mix of flavors. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about their dishes. The chef even came out to talk about the dishes a bit. My girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner. We were able to make last minute reservations, which was nice. We started with the alligator frites and the salmon bruschetta. Yum!! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine selection and gave us spot-on recommendations. Much appreciated! Our entrees were the duck and the veal. Both were exceptional, but of the two I think the Veal stood out as the winner. However, if you like duck you'll really enjoy the way this dish is prepared. I was very impressed with our meal. Fantastic service! The wine list is thoughtfully assembled and very reasonably priced. There are numerous vegetarian offerings of which we ordered many and all hit the mark. The veal chop was phenomenal and the truffle mashed potatoes stood out as they were not "over truffled" or overpowering.
