Chipotle Jalapeño Steak

By far my favorite place to eat on campus. The jalapeño chipotle steak bowl is genuinely the best bowl I've ever tried. The staff are friendly, very hard working, and ensure the customer experience is fast and efficient. 10/10, will miss this place once I graduate and will most likely come back to SD just to eat this magnificent food again

FlavorFull is the newest of the approximately ten vendors at the UCSD Price Center food court. Not being familiar with the campus, it seemed that available public parking was scarce near the Center. I walked about five minutes from where I left my vehicle to reach the food court. The main menu screens featured a build your own bowl or salad, preset bowls and salads, combo plates with fries or other sides, and then wraps with or without a side and drink. On a different side of the stall, eight different bubble waffles were available as sweet treats. From the preset savory selections, the Chipotle Jalapeno Steak bowl was what I ordered. Grilled tri-tip steak, pickled red onion, cherry tomato, cucumbers, black beans, sweet potatoes, crispy onions, tortilla chips, and creamy chipotle lime sauce were the ingredients. I chose a base that was a blend of brown rice and quinoa for the bowl. I found this carb mix to be dry while the steak was overcooked. The sweet potatoes and lime sauce were the best parts of the item, especially the latter which kept the contents moist. The portion size was good for the price which was beneficial for the students. I didn't try a bubble waffle, therefore my rating for the bowl I tasted at FlavorFull was slightly under four stars.

A completely revamped version of Seed and Sprout in Price Center that serves bowl and wraps with the option to customize your order. I decided to try the Burnt Lemon Avocado with Grilled Chicken during their soft opening, which was delicious and filling. Good to see more healthy options on-campus (though they also serve sweet waffle cones here too)!

oh hell nah bruh this shi was feral bro. like nah i ordered the tri tip plate with rice and fries how they f up everything on that damn plate bro. like everything was fr rancid asf. rice was mushy and dry at the same time bro. like there were hella hard bits in the rice but the whole thing was mushy like mashed potatoes bruh. like shi was deadas inedible. and the fries were buns too. fries were hella cold and soggy. like they were left out for like 5 weeks or sum shi. and omg don't let me get started on the steak. cold. dry. overcooked. chewy. tough. terrible. it was so bad. like i'm not expecting gourmet michelin shi but like cmon. and the chimichurri sauce they put on top of the steak tasted meh. it ain't even look like chimichurri... it's supposed to look like an oil based sauce but this shi was like milky n creamy bruh. should've listened to my homies homie who said this place was buns. also service was slow af. $15 for this atrocity is absolutely vial bru. this was definitely not flavorfull

Bone In Ribeye was amazing as well. Cooked perfectly. Horseradish sauce was good but I would prefer it a bit more spicy. They had a bone in New York which you don't see too often so would try next time. Dirty hash is def worth it. Brocollini really good as well. Fries good hut you can get that anywhere so pass for next time. Appetizers were oysters, steak tartare and Caesar salad. Past reviews say steak tartare was table side. This one was not. All were OK but will try snails next time and order an extra side. Ambiance very nice. We had table on rooftop. Service was very good but a little slow for me. The ambiance inside was very nice and really set the mood from the night but the environment was loud so something to keep in mind. Once seated we were helped and our sever was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu! The food was very good overall. We ordered New York strips, the ceaser (on this night it wasn't table side but it typically is), broccolini, dirty hasbrowns and truffle fries! The steak was prepared perfectly and I really enjoyed the side of sauces we were able to try table side (peppercorn, horseradish, bernaise, Bordeaux) I really enjoyed the broccolini and hash rows and thought they complimented the meal perfectly! At the end of our meal I requested a Polaroid photo I had seen taken earlier in the night with another party since we were also celebrating something special and our server graciously called them over, turns out it was the manager that night and he was lovely! Very kind and helpful and the photo was the perfect touch to end our evening!!

The duck was also cooked perfectly with a crispy seasoned skin that was spot on. We ordered the crispy mushrooms. Not what we expected but so good we ordered another dish with our dinner. We had the Basque Cheesecake and the Crème Brûlée. Both were outstanding. The restaurant itself has a rich mahogany feel and comfortable booths. Their locals are both actually local but also have many out of town regulars like us since so many travel to enjoy the amazingness of San Diego. We try to stay as close to Moe's as we can when we visit because they're in the perfect spot at the edge of Mission and the start of Pacific Beach where all the fun is. The food and cocktails are as good as the service. It's easy to chat up a new friend at the bar because their San Diego happiness is contagious. There were a number of new recipes on the cocktail menu this trip. They had me at "Party With Elvis." Although I was drawn to the fun name, the walnut-infused bourbon was too enticing to pass up, especially because they paired it with Montenegro (Amaro) and sweet vermouth. So it's a fancy Manhattan variation. It was delish!!!!!! Make sure when you go to the amazing beaches next time in SD, check out Moe's. You'll love the food and cocktails as much as the vibe. Yes, I will be there next month with my whole gang celebrating with me on my special day! Our reservations were early, arriving on time @ 5:30 it was a bit quiet with only two other tables, but not for long. In no time every single table was filled. The restaurant was busy and the wine was a'flowin'! This quaint and very special restaurant reminds me of a small restaurant in San Diego in the 1980's, "Ciao Bella". It was located downtown on 4th Ave., it was also chef-owned. When you dine at a chef owned restaurant you are most likely destined for greatness, or a great meal! This is the case at Angela's Kitchen 'Carbon', because there is pure authenticity in her dishes and a whole lotta' love delivered in each plate. The subtle, warm decor is welcoming and the music is played at the perfect level. Just the right ambiance. Once seated, you'll be promptly greeted and the attentive wait staff will have your wine delivered pronto. What a selection they have. I started with the prosecco and moved on to the Sangiovese which complimented my pappardelle perfectly. My friend ordered the grilled salmon and had the Montepulciano Abate Pietro. The delivery of their fresh bread with garlicky pesto, and another with tomato, which I think was a focaccia. Just amazing. We asked for olive oil to compliment the bread: it was the very best of quality with a dark Sicilian olive green hue and the smoothness with the polyphenols and antioxidants dancing in my mouth. Yum! I asked for a side of Parmigiano and they brought a nice square ramekin full of finely grated cheese, Perfection!! These are the details that make me fall in love with a restaurant, causing me to return again and again. Both of our entrees were executed perfectly, the vegetables were grilled leaving a slight char, and the salmon was grilled just right leaving a tender center. My pappardelle was dressed in the deepest, richest mushroom + beef cheek fusion of flavors with whispers of some kind of red wine like maybe the Nero d'Avola that they feature on the menu. WoW!! This is a dish that you want to take your time savoring. Every bite surpassed the last, and then a sip of the Sangiovese and I was in fresh pasta heaven. Just when we were winding down and reeling from being overwhelmed by the amazing food, Angela came to our table with cannoli. It too was amazing! This was such a kind and unexpected gesture from the chef/owner. Grazie mille, a domani!

I was really impressed that u had a place to set my feet on because I'm very short and normally have a hard time with regular bar seats. There are a lot of cute touches like that. Hooks to hold your purse, etc. I was loving the soulful music which I thought was from a playlist so I used Shazam in order to capture the song. However, the music started to sound live so I walked around...only to find it was coming from a very talented woman named Marianne across the bar. Service was friendly, but we both noticed other tables were a bit ignored or slow to be served. We ordered a few margaritas. Cesar salad with chicken and the lobster arrabbiata with table-side Parmesan. The food was great. I'm not a big focaccia lover but there's was the best I've ever had. It was warm, light, airy, fluffy, and came with this amazing butter AND olive oil, balsamic rosemary. We used the bread to dip into the leftover pasta sauce. We ordered margaritas. I would definitely recommend the blood orange drink they have on the menu. Shout out to Morgan, who was an amazing server and Marianne whose live music changed my whole mood.
