Was definitely worth the hour drive ! The staff was absolutely amazing everyone was friendly and welcoming, Joe was our waiter and his personality was everything ! The ambiance was nice nice and clean , and set up where it's can for just enough people comfortable. Now let's get into the food ! 10/10 everything from the fresh baked biscuits they brought out for the table was delicious definitely no complaints everything was so flavorful and big portions ! you def getting your money worth . I will definitely be back to try more on the menu !

As always flavor table did not disappoint. They provide you a homely southern comfort that is unparalleled. Match that with the gracious service provided by one of their host named Willie, and there is no better place to eat your southern breakfast on the west side of Los Angeles. Now you wanna talk about warming your stomach on a cool morning, try the shrimp and grits. But don't forget to chase it with the catfish and eggs. And let me tell you about those biscuits, they'll make you slap yo Daddy!

I stopped by on a Saturday morning, it was about a 30 minute wait. The service was not that great. The waiter barely came to check on us. Didn't bring any napkins refill our coffee, Karif, etc. The food was good. Street parking can be challenging. Definitely need to read the parking signs.

Food is really good, especially the biscuits. They are absolutely amazing. It can get pretty busy, and there isn't a ton of seating. Service is okay but not very attentive and it can take awhile for food.

Had the pleasure of eating some delicious food at this restaurant. Pluses +++ Food is delicious, helpings are big, prices are reasonable, staff very nice, bathroom was clean. Minuses-----parking is not so great. Street parking only and on a wide busy street, small on the inside, not ideal if you have a large party, only open until 2pm Specifics!!!! The Flavor Table is on a busy street , very easy to miss no real signage to single it out. We had a waiter that was really nice but he went out of his way to let us know he wanted his tip in cash not on the card was very vocal . I found this unprofessional, off putting and actually felt a bit of anxiety at the end worrying about if I had enough cash for his tip. There biscuits are the best taste like my grandma's homemade biscuits. The restaurant is not fancy not very decorative at all really. So you definitely would be going just for great eats but not atmosphere. I would definitely go back.

If the review were solely based on the food, our gentleman server, who may have been the manager or owner (I could be wrong), then I would rate Flavor Table a solid 4 and some change. I tbelive that his name is DJ based on the receipt. However, because other factors can make or break service ratings, I must also consider them in the equation. The hostess have zero personality and not welcoming at all. She was a bare minimum type of hostess. We were also overlooked originally by another server that took a table ahead of ours, though we arrived and were sat first. Okay enough of that, let's get into the food. The shrimp and Catfish combo OMG. Let me preference I am from Florida, South Florida and we cook seafood well, especially with grits. Our order was cooked to perfection. The portion size was massive. Three people could have easily shared that meal. Yes, I brought my leftovers home with me back to Vegas and the leftovers were equally divine. Everything was excellent from the fish, shrimp, Country potatoes, cheese grits, scrambled eggs( which I don't typically enjoy), and that got dayum biscuit. My ggaawwwdd that biscuit. I'm going back for the biscuit alone and I don't eat much bread. The setup at the restaurant was cozy and I enjoyed how everyone talked to people they didn't know across tables. I miss that type of vibe. The customers understood the assignment. I'll be back whenever I return to Cali. Thank you, Sir, for making our experience above my expectations based on observations before being greeted by you. Customer service is everything to me, and you delivered, though your counterparts did not. Glad I still gave Flavor Table a fair shot despite my first impression.

Service was amazing, but unfortunately, the food was not. I got the short ribs over potatoes. grits was really bland and not creamy. The short ribs weren't seasoned at all. Actually had cold grease in them, but the crabcakes are really good. Presentation is nice on everything and they give you more than enough food. Coffee is amazing.

Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Note: There is a time limit for parties of 4 or larger of 1.5 hours, so please be mindful as Two Hommés gets busy from opening to close.

My husband and I often find ourselves at odds when it comes to dining out, as our tastes don't always align. However, when it comes to Toochie's, we're in complete agreement: they serve the best burger we've ever had. The secret lies in the careful preparation and meticulous smoking process, which elevates the flavor to new heights. Each bite reflects the love and dedication put into their craft, creating a harmony of taste that is genuinely hard to beat. What's more, Toochie's Kitchen has managed to earn a special place in our culinary hearts, something we fondly refer to as a "hood Michelin star" in our household. This accolade is well-deserved, as they consistently deliver on quality, flavor, and hospitality. Whether you're a burger connoisseur or just someone who appreciates a good meal, Toochie's Kitchen is a must-visit destination. They've managed to bring my husband and me together over food in a way few other places have, and for that, they have our wholehearted recommendation. At the onset, I knew that its location on Jefferson in LA, was going to be a long haul from the SFV. I was ready to try it. It's now or never. There is limited parking in their lot, but only as Valet ($10). Why pay, when there is ample free street parking? The small inside dining area is divided into a room and the bar lounge, both simple, but elegantly decorated. This is an establishment that has garnered numerous accolades. They are proudly displayed on the main hallway walls as you enter the space. Music is mild and the wood furniture is elegant and polished. When I walked into my seat in the dining room, there was that intoxicating aroma of crawfish étouffée, from the table next to me. The staff is polite, stylish and inviting. The air conditioning perfectly equilibrates to make you comfortable, as you walk in from the scorching summer LA heat outside. Yes, close your eyes and you could be, in New Orleans. The Dine LA Lunch menu is fixed. It starts with Charbroiled Oysters (3) and it blew me away. While there is a seafood place in the Valley that prepares superb charbroiled oysters, truth be told, this place takes the crown. What was it, I thought. Was it their unique charring or their Bayou butter or both. Clearly, exceptional. For the main, it was their catfish nuggets, actually strips of fresh catfish, lightly battered with corn meal, that went well with the spicy mayo. Another fantastic dish, I could not stop eating. I finished the four strips. The two accompaniments here were a small Gumbo, that was aromatic and well textured with selected ingredients. The next, the soupy kidney beans. A wonderful blend of thickness, taste and creole flavors. For dessert, 3 small rounded disc shaped freshly dropped beignets, with the usual powdered sugar. They were good, but needed something else, to match those, that I have had in New Orleans. Either way, this is not a disappointment. Instead a revelation of the prowess of this authentic Creole restaurant, in downtown LA (I have also posted their enticing regular menu). It was a three and half hour round trip visit from the valley, to get here, eat and get out. Worth every bit of frustration, traffic gridlock and agony. Because when I got home, I was relieved to get out of the highway crawl and satisfied with my unforgettable Creole meal.

He came quickly to my table and made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable as he noticed I was dining in solo at the time. His greetings: such a charming smile and offered a handshake while asking me for my name. And honestly, that puts him in an outstanding service moment. Like come on...it's not everyday you go to a restaurant and get greeted this way by your server. It was my first time here so this type of greeting created a memory to hold. They give you complimentary bread and butter. Be careful of being greedy because one round is enough. Don't be a big back with the bread unless you wanna crash out quick! Furthermore, the bread texture wasn't fresh at the hour I came in. I ordered one of their signature fried dinner options Louisiana style: Jumbo fried shrimp with sauteed spinach and mac n' cheese. The fried shrimp was great enough to taste and the sauteed spinach just happened to be so good. I murked the spinach there and took the rest of the meal home (it was after 9 already, they were closed). The mac n' cheese flavor was mid. It didn't hold a lot of flavor, didn't feed my personal taste and took the longest to reach my table for some reason. Their interior reminded me of a very big family home vibe. It gave an old-fashioned set up and very traditional in my opinion. It fit the vibe of what they focus on. I will come back to try their other meals and hopefully get a pleasant greeting again :)
