First time…read morehere! Been wanting to visit for a long time!
BLUM'S COFFEE CRUNCH CAKE
Very subtle mocha coffee flavor in the cream filling. But when eaten with the honey crunch (honeycomb candy), it is so good! Burnt caramelized sugar. Spongy, soft, moist cake. Big chunks of honeycomb candy was crispy and sweet. It would be a delicious cake to bring to parties and gatherings. However, the honeycomb candy disintegrates into the cake if eaten the next day! So be mindful as you buy a slice or whole cake! This cake can only be eaten the day of!
HOUJICHA CARAMEL LATTE
Earthy houjicha with subtle caramel flavor and touch of saltiness at the end. You can taste the buttery flavor of the caramel. I got it hot and the foam was well done too. This was delicious! A good marriage of two flavors!
MISO SHOYU MOCHI CAKE
Mochi cake was chewy as expected. Delicious miso and caramel flavor. The miso caramel flavor is sweet, but the mochi cake is slightly sweetened, but it tasted like it was sweetened with a sugar substitute or maybe they added less sugar. The miso caramel is quite sweet, so it does balance the mochi flavor's non-sweetness level. The black sesame on top brings a nuttiness too. Overall, it was good. I think mochi cake and butter mochi cake fans would love this!
COFFEE CAKE
The cake was soft, but the cinnamon was weak. It tasted a bit like light cornbread, strange to say. Overall it was good, but really wanted a strong brown sugar and cinnamon flavor. This was my least favorite of everything I've tried.
CHOCOLATES & PETIT FOURS
Matcha Tea Truffle - Enrobed in white chocolate with matcha ganache center. Good fruity matcha with hint of bitterness. It did have a weird soapy aftertaste though.
Jasmine Tea Truffle - You can taste a strong tea flavor in it, yet you can't tell it's jasmine. It tastes like black tea. It starts off delicious and suddenly the aftertaste with the combo of the tea flavors is soapy!
Rice & Sesame Caramel - Nutty, black sesame flavor with toasted rice / scorched rice flavor mingles together with buttery caramel! The aftertaste is a strong roasted, nutty, smoky, salty flavor at the end that was beautifully surprising and delicious! The best one out of all the chocolates and petit fours I've tried!
Earl Grey Petit Four - Good, strong Earl Grey flavor, that Bergamont flavor coming in at the end was delightful! This was enrobed in white chocolate ganache. The flavor of the white chocolate is off and tastes soapy, which is a shame because the Earl Grey flavor with the spongy cake was beautiful! But I realize after tasting the other tea flavored chocolates that it's the combination of the tea flavors with the white chocolate that leaves that soapy aftertaste!
Champagne Petit Four - Light boozy petit four. The sponge inside was moist and the chocolate was a semi-dark chocolate which was good. All the flavors linger together after the petit four is gone. I think this would be great for bridal showers with a glass of champagne! or Afternoon Tea-like gatherings.
Espresso Petit Four - Was a bit confused to what this was for a minute after having tried the Earl Grey petit four. For a quick minute, the Espresso has that lingering flavor of the Earl Grey. Espresso one was good and did have ground up espresso beans on top. No bitterness at the end.

AMBIANCE + SEATS
The shop was clean and it showcased many chocolates, sweets, pies and cakes on display. There are outdoor seats directly in front of shop. However, the best part of this shop is the back of the shop, where they had wooden tables and chairs. It was such a cute area! Didn't eat there, but took a quick look before heading back. I think they could seat about 20-22 people.
PARKING
Difficult to find. Some street parking and neighborhood street parking available. Parking is available directly in front of shop too, but it would be very difficult to get that spot.
On Elm Ave. + Glenoaks Blvd there was neighborhood construction, so limited parking.
Would love to return in the future! So many variety of savory and sweets, baked goods, chocolates and cookies too!
