I'm very disappointed, went here with a party of 12 and 4 of us ordered crab legs. They didn't have any crab breakers. We were told that the manager was washing some. The entire time we were there we never received any and without them it was very hard to get the meat out. I paid $60 for 3lbs and was not able to get all the meat. VERY UNHAPPY! I got the all you can eat catfish. This was incredibly delicious. Plump, juicy, flavorful fish. No muddy taste at all. The fries were good. The cole slaw is sweet slaw. It was great. The staff was beyond helpful with the menu and the service was consistent and timely. This place deserves more than 3 and a half stars. My Husband and I decided to have a date day after Church, Sunday, January 21, 2024. We went to eat at Flat Creek. The last time we ate there was a year ago and it was incredibly good. This time we spend $60.00 on 2 Catfish/Fried Chicken Dinners with Onion Rings on one and fries on the other. We had first ordered 2 dinner salads and the lobster dip. The waiter brought us our salads which were delicious but immediately brought us our food minus our lobster dip which came long after we received our meal which we did not accept. Our dinner came so quickly and it was burned to a crisp and ice cold. Our waiter was incompetent. So disappointed. We are on Social Security and a strict budget and just wanted to have a date day. Extremely disappointed with the service tonight. After being seated, it took 10 to 15 minutes before our order was taken. Thirty minutes after ordering I noticed the table next to us had been cleared from the four-top and two people were sitting there and they were already eating their meals. When we asked our server Abby she just said they were very busy but she would check on it. Then the five-top that was seated after we ordered were served their food. I went and asked for a manager. I was letting him know how long we had been waiting and the tables around us that were seated after we had arrived and had their food, but he first made the excuse of how busy they were (but we had been seated immediately with no wait), but continued to interrupt me asking what table. This quickly let me know he wasn't listening. By the time I got to my table the food was being served. Once again he gave the excuse of how busy they were. I said well that's a good excuse to cover for bad service. I returned to the table to hear Abby being dismissive and argumentative with the rest of the table. The manager and Abby then held a conversation at the beverage station but within sight of our table. We all witnessed them looking to our table and laughing. Soon after Abby returned and let us know the manager had taken something off the bill. I said that's the least he could have done but it didn't address the issue of the service. I told her I was pissed. She laughed me and walked away. My daughter (also a member of the service industry) took offense to her insincerity and went straight to the manager to let him know that type of behavior isn't acceptable toward customers. He soon returned to our table to tell us "she was making a sincere apology and she wasn't laughing, she was crying". We said the apology wasn't sincere and she wasn't crying, but that's not the point. The manager's response was "what is the point?" The point was the poor service. I didn't want a free meal. I wanted to bring attention to to flaw in their process. Then the manager sent another server to our table to tell us our entire check had been taken care of. Did that address the issue of the service? No! We never had another visit to our table. No drink refills, to offers for dessert, nothing! The food was great but the poor service destroyed the experience. The flippant attitude and response from both the server and manager made this experience less than ideal. read more

I've been to the new Flat Creek in Republic a few times now and it's been great each time! I will suggest you go when you are not yet starving! It's a busy place and at dinner time you'll likely have to wait. I've had the Black and Blue burger twice and it has great flavor. My son loves the catfish and we've tried the bread pudding for dessert, so tasty! I've not had a bad meal yet. And for being so busy the staff are always very patient and attentive. A tip, if you go for happy hour drinks or appetizers you must sit in the bar to get the special prices. But they have a nice, large bar area. read more

The fried catfish was the BEST I have ever had. The hushpuppies were delicious. The crab cakes were great as well. Many menu items are fried, but I guess they use some alternate type of fryer (a broaster??). Whatever it is, the fried food was really crispy but not greasy AT ALL. 10/10 recommend. Only one word comes to mind when I drive by and see Flat Creek... Yum! Flat Creek is a small chain of seafood/ country style restaurants that I believe started in Shell Knob, MO. There are very few restaurants that taste even remotely as good as Flat Creek. The catfish (which I get every time and recommend to no end) are extremely delicious and taste exactly like catfish should. Their sides aren't that bad either (Mashed potatoes are their best side by far). Pair that with good restaurant atmosphere and polite staff that will grant your every wish (within reason that is) and you have a restaurant that sure to please the masses. read more

Went around 130 on April 29th. My server was a middle aged lady who seemed as though she was upset that we were there. We bought drinks and food and she never showed back up until I had to go to the bar to get another drink. As a bartender I understand being busy. But never showing back up, and then only showing back up to give us the check before we were ready was upsetting. Probably will go back just to see. The only reason it's not a five is because they have changed some of the favorite recipes for a more bland tasting one. The shrimp was changed and I personally don't care for the new one. However the service is always good and other foods I've eaten have been excellent. read more
