I was at Flanigan's on Atlantic in Pompano recently. I have been a few times in the past and everything was good however, this visit was absolutely HORENDOUS!! I ordered my Flanigan's favorite, the prime rib. It was such a bad piece of meat, I don't think even a dog could chew it. A manager came, she was very nice, and all she had to do was look at it and said "that's pretty bad, I'll bring you another." Meanwhile, my salad arrived but the waitress brought the wrong dressing. She went off to bring me the correct one. No big deal....Next, the manager brought another dish of prime rib and it was just as bad as the first and she commented that "the whole cut was like that so perhaps I should try something different such as the rib eye. I agreed to that. Meanwhile, we waited well over an hour and they never brought the steak and my salad had been sitting there all that time (I was still waiting on the dressing) which was now wilted and covered in flies. (We were seated outside) The wait was now RIDICULOUS! I decided to go inside to find the manager. She had left and there was a different manager on duty who was ABSOLUTELY NASTY! I asked her to just cancel the rib eye as we waited too long and just wanted to leave. I told her to just bring the check for a pasta salad and beverages. After getting back to our table, this nasty woman came with the rib eye after I told her to cancel that. She then proceeded to say "you wasted two of our steaks and now you want to waste three!" I couldn't believe this. So now it was MY fault that the meat they were trying to push was GARBAGE?????? She was insisting that I was going to have to pay for three entrees!! I asked her if there were another manager. She said yeah. A man now arrived, we told him what had happened and he was just as rude and nasty. I explained to him that I always enjoyed Flanigan's and was surprised at this experience and this RUDE, OBNOXIOUS JERK (his name is David) actually said to us "well then don't come back and if you do, you cannot return anything and you'll eat whatever we give you!!!!!!" At this point, we were so furious and appalled we just couldn't believe it!!!!!! At the very end it actually was comical. We were standing up to leave, and the waitress was now bringing the salad dressing!! LOL!! Needless to say, I WOULD NEVER STEP FOOT NEAR THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! I have been to many, many restaurants and NEVER did I experience anything like this. While Flanigan's was never on the top of my list of "to go to" places, they were always a pretty good place to go to in a pinch. Service- Really good. Especially if you sit the bar, you're bound to get one of their friendly bartenders serving you! One day I got Alex- she was hilarious and regaled us with stories of the Flanigans bus! Ambiance- it's perfect for either a cozy romantic night with someone special or a loud boisterous one with a table full of friends! Somehow Flanigans manages to hit the sweet spot between the two! Food- let's get to the main part- their AMAZING food! I get the shrimp scampi almost every single time! It's so rich and buttery and cheesy - oh dear Lord! Their dirty rice is pretty tasty too. Lots of flavor! The banzai brownie is yummy but you better plan on sharing it with 2-3 people because it's humungous! Try eating it by yourself and 2 hours later your sugar coma will find you! Parking - there's a LOT of parking so you'll never have to worry about that. Cost- it's pretty average- expect to pay around 12-18$ for a dish. A friend suggested we try Flanigans in Pompano Beach, so we did we started out with the loaded nachos it was the biggest platter of nachos I've ever seen at a restaurant and they were absolutely delicious. So after the appetizer I tried the tilapia fish sandwich which I was going to have the half rack of ribs but since the nachos were so huge I ended up trying the fish which was the first time trying that type of fish. The fish was excellent and I'm one that is a little leary when it comes to trying something I've never had before especially fish. Our waitress was Natalie who was awesome one of the sweetest waitresses we've had on our vacation down in Lauderdale by the Sea very pleasant she answered any questions that we had even the one about the huge fish tank that was behind us which was a 500 gallon tank with beautiful saltwater fish and coral reefs. We will be definitely visiting this Flanigans Restaurant next year when we return for vacation. Thank you Natalie for making our visit there such an enjoyable one. read more

We are huge fans of Pirahna Pats and recommend them frequently to tourists. However, the quality of service seems in decline the last 6 months. Examples: The hostesses do not know if there is happy hour available at the table vs sitting at the bar. Last night (On a Friday) they had 2 bartenders and we sat there with dirty dishes and no acknowledgement for 10 minutes. Once seated our waitress seemed to be handling too many tables and could not check in at least every once in a while. I love Flanigan's restaurants. I have been going to Flanigan's for years, I am a long time customer. This location use to be my top rated. The food here usually comes out right. Now I will never return to this Flanigan's after the night shift Manager of this location got up in my face and we almost had a fighting match and had to get police involved. I received bad customer service from one of the bartender and she got upset and ran and got her manager. The manager at the time was this heavy set African American women who came out the back with frowns on her face and yelled directly in my face. She didn't ask me what was the problem with the bartender nor try to discuss the issue at all. Instead she made a assumption and took up for her bartender and yelled and got up in my face. All the surrounding customers were in total shock of how bad a manager of a restaurant acted and several customer were upset on how I got treated and stated they never seen that before and unsure if they would return back to that restaurant too. She made the restaurant look very bad with the big scene she made. So after that big break out I will never return to this location and that manager should be fired! read more

Incredibly disappointed by: A) the quality control of both of our meals. B) the service A) Quality Control: We ordered burgers for dinner via carryout. The burgers were burnt beyond very well done and were packaged wrong. The fries had a "been sitting awhile" feel and taste. The biggest disappointment was the cole slaw. They made a point to tell us when we ordered that cole slaw was an extra cost with their $9.00 burger. They actually charged $1.29 for what turned out to be a half-filled 1oz plastic cup of standard issue slaw. (I uploaded a photo) B) The Service we were told the order would take 45 minutes. Not a problem because we live 20 minutes away. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was not at all busy. The order was all mixed up and had to be fixed. We have never written a review anywhere, for anything until now. Unfortunately, this is not the first time their quality control with carryout has been a tremendous letdown. We have eaten here in person on many, many occasions and everything has been ok, but with so many choices in our area, we probably will never return. My recommendation is that if you order carry out from Piranha Pat's in Pompano, you definitely need to remove everything out of the bag and inspect each item before you leave. The server, not sure of his name, was not friendly at all. He was actually pretty arrogant and oft putting. Almost blaming us for not knowing what comes as sides with the meals. One of us ordered the Ribs and shrimp combo. They state that their ribs are legendary, even writing it in large letters on the back wall. Legendary is far from what they are. I love flanigans! I was glad when Billy chose it for his first meal his first night back in town off tour. i arrived late but Billy had a glass of red wine waiting for me, I was cool with that. Billy loves their grouper fingers and they were really good ( I know cause the last one was shoved in my mouth..the entire finger). It was delicious. Lightly battered and fried to perfection (seriously) and the dipping sauce was really good we ordered two of those appetizers. i chose the steamers and they came a dozen to an order with drawn butter and the were perfect little gems of the sea tender and delicious. Billy had a salad for his main meal. It was a huge portion of iceberg and fresh veggies with a thick blue cheese dressing, Im normally the salad eater but once my eyes fixated on the steamers I had to have those. Lee was or server and she did a great job. Very attentive and personable l never had to ask for another wine or anything she was on top of things. i totally appreciate that in a server. Fresh consistent food is always what i get at flanigans, With several locations you pick the one to make it a memorable night and meal like we did. Of course i will return not only is the owner one of my high school classmates , I love the food and fast friendly service I get at flanigans! Though the food is usually decent, tonight's experience was inexusable. I ordered the dolphin fingers appetizer and was charged $14 for a very small portion (one of the most common, available fish in Florida). Ok, fine. I noticed a $1.40 charge 'to go'. I asked what that was for, and they said for the packaging since I asked for it to go. Seriously - have most people here ever been charged if they ask for a box to go?? It's not like a commemorative box. So I ask for it to eat there. Before I just take it off the plate and leave (somehow bypassing that important 'to go' charge), I mention it to the next bartender that asks how I'm doing. She said there's nothing she can do. I said, actually, you can bring it up to management. She said "you don't think that's been done?!" And told me to go call corporate. I said "so you want me to go spend my spare time fixing your customer service experience?". And she insisted that she wasn't going to do anything about my feedback, and that if I wanted to do anything about it I had to go call corporate. Interjecting an increasing amount of defensive attitude, and not at all offering any type of 'I'm sorry for your negative experience, how can we make it better?'. I really don't understand how service like that doesn't seriously hinder a restaurant's success. It seems our society's standards just keep dropping. I am so disappointed. I am a local and have been frequenting this location for some time. Currently we have friends from Ohio in town who wanted Flanigan's and to watch the Browns. We called ahead and they said yes we can put the game on.. when we sat down, we asked if we could put the game on, they said yes.. then sat us in a section with another table that was packing up and after them not putting game on, I asked another employee, I think a cook our front taking to receptionist, and he gave me some bs answer and was so unhelpful and then after I offered suggestions, he proceeded to tell me to relax.. Very limited vegetarian options. I had the sweet potato fries and a caesar salad because there weren't many other options for me. The fries were top shelf! The service was excellent and the money had something for everyone. We each got a meal deal, which included sides and drinks. To my surprise, I could get a beer with mine! Score. The potato skins were excellent and the garlic/butter rolls were - sinful, in a good way. The food arrived quickly and was plentiful, leaving us happy and satisfied. I can't say much about the decor inside except that it looked really dark when we were inside for a minute. The prices were reasonable, but a bit pricier than what I was expecting. Good food, but DON'T buy a gift card--they'll rip you off! I eat here about 3 times a week and in Sept, bought a $50 gift card for a client. My client attempted to use the gift card on Friday, Oct 19, only to be told there was a zero balance on the card. The client confronted me and I thankfully had my receipt, which I took with me (along with the worthless gift card my client handed back to me) to Flanigan's to find out what was wrong. I spoke to Carlos, the manager. At first, he told me I would need to leave the card and my receipts and come back in a hour. I did NOT trust him, and refused to do that. He asked if he could make copies of my receipts, which I said was fine. He came back about 20 minutes later and said, despite my $127.00 credit card receipt, I had not paid for the gift card and they only charged me $77.00 for my bill and that I should go home to check my credit card statement to confirm what he said was true. He did say it was their fault, and he'd buy me a drink to make it right. Nothing about making it up to my client, who expected a $50 gift card and instead was stuck with the entire bill for a meal they may have never ordered. Up til today, I was a year round regular at this location and I ate there about 3 times a week. I easily spend $200 a week there, and that's how they decided to treat what I would consider a valued customer. I understand mistakes, but my contact info was on the credit card receipt. At any time, they could have called me, or told me in any of the 10 visits I made there since the gift card purchase, that there was a problem. Instead, they hung me out to dry with an important client. TERRIBLE customer service, and the manager needs to be retrained. When you screw up, you should make an effort to minimize the mistake by making it up to the customer. I'm going to minimize my mistake by not going to this location any longer, and telling everyone in my building what happened and how they handled it. Hopefully, the $10k per year they don't get from me will make them think twice about screwing someone over a $50 gift card. read more

My bill was $257.00 I asked my waitress at the bar if I was getting two gift cards. She went and ask her boss. She came back and said I was get nothing because my food was an order I was taking with me, not eating at the restaurant. I went into the restaurant, waited 30 min for my order and this does not count? What is the reasoning behind this. I spent 257.00 at your restaurant buying regular price food not even lunch specials and that does not count. Very disappointing and false advertisement on your menu. Both the food and the service were fabulous. They come over and ask 2-3 times how everything is, unlike competitor Smoky Bones, where at the bar you have to strain for their attention, always. At Flanigan's they're attentive but not overly so. And their price for the same 1/2 barbequed chicken and sides is the same as Smoky Bones AFTER the latter's 30% off coupon. Most people don't get these coupons so I highly recommend with or without, forego Smoky's much worse service, lesser food, and much worse prices (absent coupons) though you do often have to wait for a seat or table. Only negative was their 6 or so TV's at the bar, all but one had the same game and the almost as local state team UF on just one, and far away from the only seats available. I've been going to various Flanigan's in the area for years but have only been to this one twice. Once on a really bad date back in college and last night. after traveling for eight hours, Flanigans was the restaurant of choice because a) who doesn't love bar food at 9pm? b) who doesn't love all drinks 50% off after 9pm? We sat at the bar and I was a bit saddened that they don't have that much of a draft selection, maybe ten beers tops. I usually go to the Boca location where the drafts just go on for miles (ok maybe feet) so not having the varied selection made me un-hoppy. They do have Yuengling though so that redeemed themselves a little. I got the chicken stickers and they were excellent as usual.....even though I hate when restaurants give cutesy names to things (stickers=fingers). I love how there seems to be a ring of tv's all around the restaurant, you have a great view of whatever is on the tube wherever you're sitting. The bar was packed because of the World Series and happy hour special which made me feel like I was besties with the people around me. It's optimal eavesdropping atmosphere as well, I heard some pretty interesting/scary things like night but from the looks of some of the people here, it was believable. That being said, if you want some solid bar food, cheap drinks, good people watching and want to catch a game, this is your place! read more

It had massive amounts of sour cream-- all to the side as requested but no chives! The mojito was so freakin' bad. It tasted like soda with less than a hint of mint and very very little sugar. nassstyyyyy My friend had the nachos-- the plate was larger than her head and the mound of food was a little bit smaller than her torso (we're talking about a 19 year old girl.... not a 9 month old baby) Portions are HUGE. but this place isnt huge on taste. the waiter was attentive, very sweet and nice! he was a charmer! Prices aren't bad at all- it appears to be a chain restaurant focused on groups having a good time. My measly pathetic centimeter wide bicep is stronger than the alcohol in my drink. My potato was utterly lame and needed a garnish dressing or two. The food is terrible... I will never step foot in this place for a meal again. Perhaps a beer or two (cheap!!) but they only carry popular brands and no micro brews, locals or foreign beers. read more
