Found this place on Yelp! Glad we did!! The food and the service was great. The decor is fun and bright! The chive-bacon-potato salad was so good. I ordered another helping. The cheddar-jalapeño grits were wonderfully cheesy and just enough heat. The chicken breast with melted pimento cheese on of all things a pretzel buns really worked! And I do not like pretzel buns. I've been here many times over the years and the food is always excellent. I usually have a Monte Cristo which is a stuffed bread filled with cheese ham and turkey and dusted with powdered sugar and served with your choice of side and raspberry jam. If you get this use the jam, it really makes the dish. I gave four rather than five stars because the service is not always so great. Don't plan on being in and out of this place. Go when you have plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere and decor. read more

The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Price is a little high on some items but the quality is totally worth it. They have the best french fries ever, and I'm so happy they brought the Parrothead Pork Bites back--little barbecue sliders with toasted buns and a wonderful barbecue sauce. My mom always gets the Hurricane Hot Brown and says it's great, too, though I've never tried it. I eat there as often as I can when I'm in town! I would definitely recommend to a friend. There is nothing about this place that is Caribean style. The owner of this establishment must consider the people of this town dumb if they think the cheap decorations and cheesy paintings will fool anyone. My so called meal cost an arm and a leg and I feel like all I recieved was some low grade caffeteria food with poor service. FYI I ordered what the server called a stuffed style bread and it tasted like it was days old I could not finish it. The kitchen was more loud and crude than the food. Flamingo Row had a "C" health grade while I ate there :( that should have said it all. The urgent reason why im writing this review is because I just about threw up while eating there it was horrible!! This place is extremely expensive and overpriced. When I got there my burger it was extremely crispy and my french fries were very soggy filled with grease. The decorations were extremely tacky and cheap. Its was a horrible experience just because of the food alone not to mention the rude young lady that waited us. Consumer beware! Great Caribbean restaurant! We had the Beach Ball Salad, the Baja Bash, and Pina Colada Cake. The coconut- lime rice that came with the Baja Bash was unique and fresh. Today was my first experience at Flamingo Row. Me and my wife solely went off of some of these wonderful yelp reviews in order to choose our lunch for the day, and Yelp did not fail us the slightest. First, and foremost, the most important part of a meal should be the food, and Flamingo Row did not fail one bit in this particular department. Second, one must consider the surrounding while dining. In my personal opinion, this surrounding achieves exactly what it is setting out to do. Now, with that being said, another important part of any dining experience is the service. Today, this is the only spot the restaurant failed me. I did not receive any refills till the end of the meal. Usually, I would not be so concerned with water or refills for that matter because they drown out important flavors. However, my food in particular was on the hotter side, and warranted at least one refill. All and all a good experience though. I would recommend to anyone. read more

The category for this restaurant says "Traditional American", however, the fare is Tropical Pacific, with a heavy emphasis on Polynesian entrees. Sandwiches abound, and there are plenty of meals which feature vegan ingredients. The ambiance is a little over-the-top, with fake trees and a lot of horizontally hung draperies, all in typical Polynesian colors. It's a nice place for a quick date, or an unusual ambiance lunch or dinner getaway. Prices are fair, and portions are adequate for most diners. All-in-all, I would visit Flamingo Row about once a month for a change of pace. read more

Who would expect to find a piece of Paradise in Paducah, KY. We searched out this place because of its intriguing name. Didn't know what We'd find. We found a gem. It was evident from the moment we entered. This place is a labor of love. No commercial decorating here. Everything was done by hand and it's COOL. Also very clean. The drink menu is influenced by the tropics. Each had a special name. We had the Mai Tai equivalent served in a tall glass and reasonably priced. The menu is extensive with many unique flavors to compliment the dishes. All the sauces appear to be made on site. The Coco Loco Pollo was a coconut fried chicken breast sandwich served on a bun with lettuce and a dish of Pina Colada yogurt dressing. It was awesome! The sandwich was served with a generous portion of frys. There is a selection of "stuffed" sandwiches. These sandwiches are called "Fillymingo's". They are basically small loaves of bread with the filling baked in. We tried the Sausage, Ham, Pepperoni & Provolone combo. It was a great sandwich served with a side of fresh marinara sauce for dipping. The staff was most accommodating. The owner even stopped by for a great conversation. She was really a wonderful person committed to providing unique, fresh and exciting food items. read more

We went to Flamingo Row while vacationing in this area. I was initially drawn in by the concept of Caribbean food because I love trying food from other cultures. The atmosphere was pleasant albeit a bit touristy. The staff were very friendly and inviting. The menu was jam-packed with unique dishes that were thematic and fun to read. I wanted to be disappointed because it was not authentic Caribbean cuisine, but every single delicious bite of food removed any hint of disappointment. The restraint successfully took classic American dishes and injected simple and effective modifications to make it feel Caribbean. I had Mahi Fish Tacos that were described as seasoned Jerk fish with other toppings and I couldn't detect any chilies or cinnamon in the seasoning, but between the excellent seer on the fish, the remarkably fresh avocado, the perfect bit of heat from the red onions, and a warm toasty tortilla, I couldn't force myself to be disappointed in the idea that the seasoning wasn't truly Jerk seasoning. The side that came with this dish was "Cilantro Rice" which i was surprised to have a very satisfying Coconut flavor added as well. I could have eaten an entire meal based on this side, it was so good. The rest of my family's dishes were amazing as well, wowing us for all the right reasons. Even the fries were phenomenal, not even in need of sauce, but why wouldn't you dip it in their seemingly hand crafted sauces? Both the ranch and the honey mustard were so amazing that we even asked for an extra small cup of the ranch to go just so we could taste it one more time. Even the kids chicken had a slight twist with breading having a hint of coconut flavor. They successfully transformed the intentionally bland and boring kids option into a masterpiece of unique and fulfilling flavor. Despite this twist that could make it appealing to an adult however, it was not such an extreme change that my finicky four year old minded it. He ate it and had leftovers due to the generous portion. If I am ever in this area again, you better believe I am visiting Flamingo Row again! read more

I used to love this place but today I walked in and heard a crunch sound like I stepped on a peanut shell but when I looked down there was a squished cockroach on my shoe. I stopped in my tracks then politely turned directly around and walked out. I live in Paducah and I have heard the roaches are bad at this place but I didnt want to believe it and now I know they are for a fact. OMG, Disgusting! Great food and service. We (7 women) were in Paducah for a week long quilting retreat and a few stopped in for lunch. We were so pleased with the food that we told the others, and the next night we returned for dinner and drinks. Again, the food was great and the service was excellent. My family and I go here often and have for years which is why this review pains me to write. Last night my husband and I ordered carry out around 7 pm. We received our food around 8 and I ordered my usual sunset pier and thought it was fine until I got to the sandwich. My first bite was a strong chargrilled taste so at first I thought nothing of it except maybe they started changing the way they cook their chicken until I took my second and final bite. The chicken was covered with cheese and a weird bubble on top which I assumed was avocado until I bit into it and got a powerful mouthful of propane/grill cleaner flavor. Strong enough that it was burning my throat and had my husband try as well and it did the same to him. He immediately drove it back to the restaurant to show them and arrived 10 minutes before they were supposed to close and the doors were already locked. Thankfully he called and the night manager let him in, my husband explained what happened and they refunded him and said they didn't know what happened but that they would tell the owners in the morning, if they even did who knows. Something like this could've been a very dangerous situation and we could've been poisoned. Out of all the years we have been here we have never had an issue until now which is why I'm giving the 2 stars instead of 1. We won't be back. read more

I've eaten here many times and usually the food and service are good, but not great. On this night I sat in the bar and waited and waited for the barmaid to acknowledge me. She finally offered me a drink and then 10 more minutes passed before she offered me a menu. "I have this big table I had to finish." Please, dear, that's not my problem. Thus begins the theme to this girl's excuses on why she can't handle her assigned duties. Here's the deal - I got take out. Had it been a dining in experience, I'm expecting my issues would have been resolved and it would be a non-issue. But - that wasn't the case and since someone might try take out - I want them to know what to look out for. I order the nachos (plain) and a petit filet - medium rare. The staff at the door were great. The bartender was fantastic. I did not check my order before I left. When I got back to my hotel, I opened up the bag. There were no utensils. Okay, nachos and a steak - you can kind of finger food this. However, the nachos had ground beef on them - they were not plain. I tried a few and ended up tossing the rest. The steak - was melt-in-your mouth tender and had great flavor. But - was definitely more rare than medium rare. I was hungry - I tried - but ended up tossing about a third of it away because it was too rare - even for me. The potatos - well they were "eh" the only not great part of the meal. And those too - were tossed. You can clearly see - if I had dined in - I would have been able to get a fresh order of nachos without beef - the bits I tried without it were good. And the steak could have been popped back on the grill. Would I try it again? Most definitely. Unfortunately due to my schedule - I don't think I will have the chance. Love the décor. Loved the spacing. No one was on top of each other. read more
