Thee BEST tasting buffet Jamaican food I've ever tasted. Most times quality lacks in buffets, but every single food item was soooo good! So much variety and healthy options to choose from. The stewed chicken and the spinach rice were my favorites. My children loved the yellow rice and were so excited they had an ice cream machine. One thing to note is that the oxtail is not included in the buffet, but that didn't matter bc they had so many other items to choose from! They offer breakfast on the weekends. Saw this restaurant when I came to visit my mom and decided to give it a try. This is a pay before you eat place. After passing the front desk and paying the buffet is in the next room and there are severs table set ups in o start a d finish at. There are lots of great choices and was happy that my drink was included with my buffet. Ambience was good, loved that they played music that went with the theme of the restaurant. I was surprised by the variety and a little sad you can't get oxtails included...I'm sure there is a reason why Anywho, it ended up being a great vegetarian experience because they had these curry noodles with broccoli, collards, yams, cabbage, 3 choices of rice, corn (but I don't eat that), plantains, mashed potatoes, dumplings, and the Mac My plate (ok 2) were full and I still didn't have any fruit. There's curry chicken, fried chicken, bbq chicken, and brown chicken...all with the bomb gravy for your rice. After finding out it was my first time, a gentlemen explained how the buffet works and walked my party over to the area to provide a quick intro to the offerings The drinks are straightforward, but they have some party favorites in the front (not included in buffet price). There's red velvet and carrot cake perfectly packaged to go (because you're going to get full and need to take it with‍). I have NEVER heard of or eaten at an all you can eat Jamaican Buffet and I am so happy I got a chance to come here! I was craving Some Jamaican food and my dad and I came to this place! It's so cute inside and the young lady that helped assist us was friendly as well. We didn't get a chance to sit down and eat because we came about 2 1/2 hours before they closed so we packed our to go plates to the max lol. I got red beans and rice + pigeon peas and rice which were both good and not dry at all. I was worried because some buffet places let the rice sit out until it's dry but not here. I also got cabbage, plantain, boiled dumplings, & festival as my other sides. The cabbage and festival weren't my favorite. The cabbage could've used some more flavor and the festival were sweet but they were a bit too tough to enjoy. The boiled dumplings have been on my radar for a while but I never been to a Jamaican restaurant that sells them. They were so thick, and rich. I loveee doughy things so they were the perfect texture to me. They don't have much flavor just a sweet dough taste. I could definitely tell that they're meant to soak up the juices of stuff. So next time I plan to use it as my main starch and pour some oxtail gravy over it. Everything I got meat wise was amazing the curry and oxtail were both tender and flavorful with just the perfect amount of spice. I will say the jerk was good but it was way too spiced for me. I gave it to my dad to enjoy. He loved it. I also tried the carrot punch which was nice, creamy, and sweet. I definitely recommend drinking it as a dessert or with a dessert. Tried to give this place a chance, truly did, even brought 4 NEW customers the 2nd go-round. This place has potential, but b/c of the narrow business mindset (better, lack of) our people tend to have, I most likely will not return. First issue, there are signs everywhere, I am not joking...every damn where of all of the 2,873,013 rules, but I did not see one at the cashier station in front that says multiple items are NOT included in the buffet. You are not hit with rule #435 until AFTER you pay...hmmmm... The Latina woman that was working, was the nicest employee and very polite and professional. After you pay, you enter a rather drab dining area in need of a reno overhaul, but again, it was clean. The buffet area is clean and well-kept. The food is good but not the best I have had, again, small town, limited options. Maybe the best for Clarksville. You have to damn near have a college degree to capture all of the rules lol, no exaggeration. To the point, the employee has to actually walk you through the rules before eating. Stating the most insane business model I have ever seen/heard, saying he is losing money on that and has to make money somehow. Bruh, I am pretty sure you are offering free refills on fountain drinks is not going to break you, lol. FRFR - quit it - now you are reaching. It was obvious I meant no harm and smiled the entire time (I have witnesses). Again, he was simply being a jerk about it and then dismissed us by saying we did not pay $100, but $14.99 a piece, as if our business was not welcomed nor appreciated. Again, with this business mindset, I am entertained and extremely confused at the same time. Bruh I saw the total when the person paid, almost $100, IDGAF how you wanna split hairs, $100 is $100! Altogether, with the additional items that aren't on this "buffet" and multiple drink refills, we easily spent $140 plus. At the end of the day, this place nickels and dimes its customers to death..literally to MF death! If the owner(s) had any common sense or business sense, they would simply raise the buffet price and take down all the tacky signs. Make it a real buffet where you can eat in true peace without feeling watched like it's a prison yard and get refills at no xtra charge. I would have felt better paying upwards a flat $25 per person than being felt like our hefty business was not sincerely appreciated or feeling like I was breaking a rule every 4 damn minutes. I saw the sign by the road and really wanted to try the buffet. Such a HUGE disappointment!! The food was mediocre at best. Several of the items were so bad I couldn't even believe they were trying to serve that in a restaurant. The only meat dishes you had to choose from were chicken dishes, frozen BBQ meatballs (think Walmart frozen bag meatballs in Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce), and one dried up roast pork dish. They had a pasta dish that looked like a penne alfredo. I thought how bad can that be? It tasted spoiled, like sour milk. I was seriously afraid that I was going to get food poisoning from this place. The oxtails on the buffet, are sold by the pound, so unless you pay an additional price you can't get them. As soon as you open the door you get hit with a wave of great smelling food. Once you're in you must wash your hands at the designated station. I love that they do this because it is a buffet and we all will be touching the same spoons. So this ensures we are doing what we can in regards to cleanliness. The juice bar is right there at the entrance too. I love the juice menu because it tells you what each juice is good for. I personally got the juice that is great for the liver. It is made with fresh veggies and no added sugars. It was amazing! Then you enter under the sign that says buffet. You have canned drinks to choose from and you have to-go boxes to pack the food you'd like. Personally the jamrok pasta is to die for... highly recommend!!! This is not a traditional all you can eat buffet. Technically yes, it is all you can eat. However.. it's 4.99 per pound. So yes... you CAN eat all you want but you must pay. I don't mind this at all because it reduces waste of food and the prices are still reasonable. A meal out is usually $40-$50 but here we only paid $30 and we were full and had food to take home. I really do recommend trying this place out. The owners here are genuine and it feels like your at someone's home and they are cooking for you. The music is an added bonus because I felt happy while eating. The establishment is new, they are still renovating so you see a lot of emptiness but it really didn't bother me much. I am not even out of the parking lot yet and I feel it is necessary to write this review. I came to Jamrok after my mother was craving oxtails. Unfortunately they were out. That's not the issue, I'm sure that was out of their control. The cashier asked if it were my first time is said yes. She proceeded to explain that I needed to wash my hands and then go to the buffet and that is 6 something a pound. I called my mother to let her know they were out of oxtails and she stated she wanted to try the curry goat. I hang up with my mother and proceed to wash my hands. I grab a container and the young lady is assisting a customer with his tab. I proceed to cruise the buffet to see what my options were. Once I got close to where I was in the cashiers line of site she looks at me as if I was a toddler fresh out of diapers and in the rudest tone "Did you wash your hands?" I looked at her confused and responded, Yes I work in the medical and I am well versed on cross contamination especially at a buffet. She proceeds to watch me as I add to my stereo foam tray and suggest that I put the goat in a seperate container her tone slightly mild but at this point she lost me.
