I am lying in bed sick while writing this review. I have had horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea…read moreafter eating at this restaurant earlier today. Apart from the sickness, the food is atrocious! It is nothing like the Red Rooster locations on Major MacKenzie Drive. I've been to this location on several occassions and the food is always horrible, but I keep going back because I love the Major Mac restaurants and keep hoping I might get something that resembles the food at the other locations. Be aware. Not only is the food bad but so is the sanitary conditions.

That doesn't sting nearly as much as not having a backup go to. I suppose Red rooster it is. I don't even know where to begin....The chicken quality has dropped even further, it's dry and often overcooked. The potatoes aren't crispy on the outside anymore & the vegetables are flavourless. I've given the new mgmt three chances to improve their miserly ways over the course of a year to try to return this place to its original glory but they don't seem to care. Goodbye Chicken Place. RIP PS- Look at the dates of other reviews and I think you'll see the trend downward started years back. The Old owners ran a top notch restaurant. These news ones..... don't.

Tried this place on a whim, just had a craving for jerk chicken and didn't want to drive for it, this was the first thing that popped up, and I remember seeing this from driving by it "all the time" The first time I had this ordered to my place, the food's scent absolutely permeated once we got the items out of the bag, the flavors were even better. this food brought me back to my childhood and all of the summer bbq's growing up with friends from multiple islands. One time I came in here in person, to grab some food, and the service was top notch, but ordering in person had a bit more options which lead to me looking like an idiot ordering the same thing I did through skip. The hot sauce is absolutely perfect as well, please bottle this and sell it Seperately. There's next to no sitting area here, and with this tight plaza of 11 business' you would be best to grab the food and go. I have no photos, even though I say the phone eats first, once the smell hits my nose, it's game over. no photos, no witness'(lol) Absolutely one of my favorite spots now for food, slowly climbing into my personal top 10 in Toronto, please don't change anything with the food, everything is perfect.

I found the oxtail not to have much flavour even with all their sauce and garnishes, for 17.65 plus two dollars more for oxtail it is not worth it. I feel Chris jerk oxtail had so much more flavour, I don't think I will come back here, price not worth it and it lacks flavor.

Chicken place: well there's truth in a store name. Yelp wants to know if I recommend this place:…read moreuh...yeah! It's basically a fusion of near-east (Lebanese perhaps) and Canadian food. They have rotisserie chicken and chicken skewers that can be served with a choice of two sides. I think there were at least a dozen choices for sides. Whether it's the sides or the main course (the chicken) the staff told me they are very passionate about fresh food. They're even passionate about fresh oil for the fries, which are also fresh-cut. The fries were indeed terrific and I enjoyed dipping them in the tzaziki sauce I asked for. Since I was new, the exceptionally friendly staff allowed to to try a couple samples of other sides, such as the tomato and avocado salad and the roasted cauliflower. And my second proper side was a fresh salad with a house-made vinaigrette. I also ordered the lentil soup which I loved. And I went with the skewers for my chicken. My wife was also there and she went with the rotisserie chicken which she said was exceptional. The prices are really good too. They're also known for their sandwiches which are pressed, so maybe I'll give that a shot when I'm next in the area. I'm a bit sad I'm not often in this area, but it may be for the best - as I'd probably find myself here too much.

I have been a huge fan of this restaurant, knowing he was at the Willowdale and Sheppard location…read moremany years ago. I had the all time favourite Chicken Place Sandwich - crispy bread filled with chicken, mayo and pickles. The size of the sandwich is pretty big ( like a 12 in sub), it's pretty filling when you eat with their fresh cut fries. We also had the Fresh Greek Salad and BBQ quarter Chicken with Rice. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. The owner Mike is very nice and friendly. He will make sure you are happy with the food.

All of the oxtail shredded meat, the cheese, the slaw, and the patty all perfectly come together into a very hearty meal. For its price, it is very filling and extremely tasty. The other thing we had was the Large Jerk Chicken meal. The Jerk Chicken was how I personally would want it. Not too hot, not too salty, not burnt, and spiced just right. The rice & beans proportion to the protein was just a little more than what I would prefer, but it is not a big issue. There was also a piece of bread that we had along with the meal which I enjoyed having. It was tasy and soft bread that perfectly acts to refresh the palate so we can go for another bite out of the Jerk Chicken or the Oxtail patty. What was a little letdown was that the place was a little small and not really primarily setup to accommodate a lot of indoor dining. There was no washroom or at least a place to wash hands. Service was also just alright. It was not bad, but just not among the best service standards that I know. You would need to come in with a lot of patience in waiting to order and waiting for the food to be ready to serve. Between taking orders, the person over the counter would also be occasionally be on the phone answering call inquiries.

Just a heads up there's no seating while waiting, and it's cash only. The first time I came here, I got the medium 1/2 chicken meal with a natas, plus a striploin on the side. Everything was really good and honestly worth the drive. The second visit wasn't as smooth. I ordered the Bife à Casa and expected regular fries because I saw them in someone's Google review, but it actually comes with fried potato rounds instead. I called to clarify in case I got the wrong dish, and they confirmed that's how it's served. In the end, the potatoes paired well with the steak, so I wasn't upset about it. What did disappoint me was that they forgot the gravy that was supposed to come on the side. When I mentioned it, they acknowledged it should've been included and said I could mention the issue next time for a possible discount. Service also felt a bit disorganized during this visit. My steak took a while, which I can understand, but another customer's chicken sandwich was missed completely and she had to wait an extra 10 minutes after already being told it would be quick. The sandwich was sitting on the service counter for a while, and it only got resolved after she followed up again herself. Food is still solid overall, especially the chicken and steak, but service consistency could definitely improve.

The restaurant is fairly busy, but service isn't too slow. The restaurant had a bar set up, tables and patio so it had a spot for everyone! Food: Appetizer - we got the cauliflower, which was delicious and was perfect with the sauce! Main - chicken sandwich, which was awesome and my go-to there. The hot-ness of the sandwich blends perfectly with the ranch sauce!! The 5 piece chicken was also delicious, full of sauce!! For the sides, they were just average but the chicken makes up for it!! Verdict: We've gone back almost 3 times now, and I still think about that chicken sandwich. Would definitely recommend this place!
