Staff was friendly and waiting time for take out was no more than 10 minutes. - Jerk chicken (4.5/5): Great flavour and spice, coleslaw was good but the ratio was more rice than meat. The jerk chicken was incredible! Nice crisp to the skin and was moist in the middle, touched with sauce to perfection. - Oxtail (4.5/5): I would've love to have more of the meat and coleslaw but I must say the flavour was insane. The meat fell right off the bone!

They're very…read morenice in person and on the phone, props for keeping their regular service hours though this time. They offer a $5.99 Small option for those looking for a smaller meal (yet not really small) that's priced right. There was no Roti option. Chicken was cooked very well, rub & marinade were OK but just moderate wow factor. I didn't get as much sauce as some of the other Yelper's pics but It wasn't dry by any means. Most of the chicken pieces were on the bone, which adds flavour IMO - but it also means 25% of that meat portion was bones, so what initially looks like a steal for $5.99 turned out to be merely fair. Not offered to customize heat level ( it was lower side of medium) I liked how the Coleslaw was neither too sweet nor too heavy on mayo. Rice & Peas was standard & unremarkable but did taste extremely fresh despite being an hour to closing time. I'd like to round them up to a 4 but that would be saying it's as good as Allwyn's & Layla's and I couldn't go that far. ( in Willowdale, they'd a 4 easily..) I still consider Rose's a solid choice. And for some customers - those who need better TTC access than Allwyn's, those who need their Island fix to be halal, or find the $5.99 deal to be an ideal price & size, it could well be a top choice in the area.

I loved everything except the milk tea - I wasn't quite expecting it to be so salty. The manta were dumplings with flavourful lamb and onion filling. The dapanji was chicken and potatoes in a stew with chewy hand pulled noodles. I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles! The polo was a buttery lamb and carrot rice that came with sides of yogurt and chopped vegetables. The nan kawap was very flavourful cumin stir fried beef with onions and naan. I'd never had bread added to stir fry before and it went great! Everything came out quickly and the servers were friendly. It's a smaller restaurant so may be a good idea to call ahead on weekend evenings.

Aside from teaching us how to pronounce Uyghur correctly (kind of like Vee-Grr), he recommended 3 dishes, the Legmen, Quruq Qorima, and Somen. We started with a Uygur salad, followed by some Manta (dumplings) and then the Somen. I'm happy to report that all of it was excellent! The very fresh salad is composed of tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic and onions. There was not a leaf of lettuce in site, which pleased me (I'm not a lettuce fan), and the cucumbers very fresh and tasty, with pleasantly powerful chunks of garlic complementing the salad well. At first, I thought that the Manta were a bit overpriced at $21, but when they arrived, I saw that they were enormous, and we had 6 of them! To my delight, the generous lamb dumplings were filled with lamb soup! Be warned! It will come bursting out all over your plate if you are careless, and you'll lose all the goodness of the soup! (I usually bite a hole in the side and try to sip it out). These were so excellent! The best soup dumplings I've ever had! Kroran had already set high expectations when the Somen arrived, and we were not disappointed. Somen is a sauced beef and noodle dish, with hand pulled noodles, savory pieces of beef, and various vegetables, including wood-ear mushrooms. It was a fine example of comfort food, and the noodles had a satisfying bite. Despite the whole chillies, it was quite a mild dish, but hot sauce was at the table so that you can spice it up if you prefer a more heat. It was very comforting and warming on a chilly winter's day, but I'd enjoy it year-round! Kroran is a bit pricy compared to similar restaurants, but the quality of the food and generous servings make up for that. Happily, they take all common methods of payment. Parking can be a bit tight, but there is some street parking available on the sidestreets. Uygur food is relatively uncommon in the GTA, but worth seeking out, especially for lamb and beef enthusiasts. I look forward to return to Kroran soon and try some other dishes, particularly the Lamb Kawap (kebabs), Samsa and Legmen.

This place is a definite must-try. The place has a few spots to eat, and the decor is beyond adorable and fitting. I couldn't get enough of the potato puns. The gentleman was incredibly nice in explaining what the top favs were and was even nice to allow me to add an ingredient, as one of my spuds had something removed (no coleslaw for me). My order consisted of Mexican Fiesta and Nashville Chick. My husband took his Mexican fiesta potato as is, but I ended up switching my pulled chicken for fried chicken. The potatoes were amazing! The base potato was so flavourful and not bland at all, evenly seasoned on its own without the toppings. The toppers were delicious and went well with the spud. It hasn't even been a week, and I'm already jonesing for my next potato bar experience.

Some circular sofas were a bit worn though, like they were used at another restaurant and then moved here. They also serve the traditional Turkish breakfast spread too for $37.99 per person, which seems fancy. We ordered the platter for two, which could honestly feed four people. The meat tasted authentic, by which I mean it was simply grilled with little seasoning, no unnecessary sauces. The kebabs were juicy and flavourful too - you could taste the lamb fat that added some richness. Service was okay, not quite attentive but sufficient. The staff just walked away when we tried to stop them for bill, which was surprising. They offer complementary team after the meal, which was thoughtful. The three dips were yogurt, a spicy salsa, and cottage cheese. I think the best dip was the yogurt. Two plate were ordered, Urfa kebab on the left and Yaprak doner plate. the portions were gigantic. I split the Urfa kebab plate with another person and we were pretty full after that. Barely able to touch the second so we took most of it home. The kebab was beef and lamb. It was very juicy and tender and very flavourful. The bulgur was soft but firm and the cabbage and onion salad was a nice tangy offset to the taste. There was also live music playing and several birthdays being celebrated so it was a bit loud and hard to have a proper conversation lol.

We arrived around 7:30 p.m. and found the place very busy. The place was small and had six tables that could seat up to 25 people. Thankfully, we found an empty table, so we sat down and grabbed a menu from the cashier. My friend recommended chicken paratha rolls, so we decided to order four of them (two with green chutney and the other two with red chutney) and a chai. While waiting, we shared the chai. It was hot and fresh, with a blend of spices to warm us up. After a few minutes, the cashier called our order number and my friend went to the front counter to pick it up. The chicken paratha rolls were delicious- the chicken pieces were juicy and succulent, the chutney added a nice small spicy kick, and the paratha was soft, crispy and chewy. The portion size of the roll was large, so I was only able to eat one (and took the other one home). If you are in the Scarborough area, I highly recommend checking this place out!
