I had never been here and said yes. She had booked a reservation for Thursday at noon. I was working from home and drove over here in roughly twenty minutes. I didn't get Keri's message that Shinta had called her while both of us were commuting. The eatery had cancelled her reservation due to a "kitchen incident." Vague. I witnessed folks going into the eatery at noon, so it was still open for business. It's why I've taken off a star. I get that incidents happen. It wasn't serious enough to shut down the eatery. Cancelling thirteen minutes before the reservation time wasn't the best, either. Take 2. Keri got us in on Civic Holiday at noon. We hoped that there wouldn't be any issues. The reservation was a go. We were both off for the day, which worked out perfectly. I got there and parked. I saw a huge truck in front of the doors. A male staffer came over to my car. He looked at me and paused. He told me in Cantonese to park a bit further back because the truck would have a hard time leaving. Everyone else had parked closer to the truck already. I nodded and parked a row back. Keri and I watched a huge kitchen appliance get moved into the eatery. We then walked in. The man who had spoken to me welcomed us in English. I also heard Mandarin and Vietnamese spoken by staff. He found Keri's reservation and we got a corner booth. Yay! This eatery currently has Japanese BBQ lunch sets that start at $15.99 weekdays from noon to 4 pm. Such a steal! We got laminated menus. There's also a QR code on each table for the online version. There are three combo sets that all have these components: - Meat - Sushi - Salad * - Rice * - Soup * - Dessert * means items are fixed. The others have some flexibility to choose what you'd like. We opted for combos A and C. We essentially tried everything in our combos, which was fun.
