Ordered pickup for dinner from this spot which I have been craving for quite a while. Got the jerk chicken bowl and oxtail bowl, both with Scotty Rice and all the toppings. The pickup experience was super smooth, as my order was just packed when I came in! The inside has some tables for dine in though I took it to go. The bowls were hefty and delicious. For the chicken, we got the half jerk half BBQ option, and I liked the jerk chicken which had a kick of spice. As it has been said, this spot is along Highway 7 so it might be a little more difficult during peak hours to get in and out.

I want to really like this place. It's got a gorgeous dining environment and friendly staff. Ordered jerk chicken sandwich. The toppings and ingredients were excellent and flavourful but I admit I was slightly disappointed when you see their online photos it looks like a panini sandwich in a very large size but really it's a white hamburger bun and the sandwich is pressed flat on a panini grill. I'd rather have it on coco bread. Nothing fancy at all. Kind of like what you do when you're a kid. The jerk chicken was dry with no moisture. Spices were good. 3-stars is my vote. I'm going to give this place another try.

Drove past this place many times and it always caught my eye because it looks so new/clean and brightly lit! Finally got around to trying it and it did not disappoint. The inside is very clean & spacious. I liked the colourful mural with neon lights. The menu isn't too big but that's a good thing for someone indecisive like me. It is displayed on screens behind the counter but the screens do change a little fast. Staff were friendly and since it wasn't busy when we went, it was very quick. The portions are generous and the value meals are well priced. The food is very flavourful though I wasn't a fan of the rice. The oxtail was decent but a little on the sweet side. My jerk chicken was soft. Not juicy but not dry as stated in other reviews. I would definitely give it another try. The parking situation isn't the best as there are only a handful of spots and it's directly on Hwy 7.

Curry Goat with a mix of Rice & Beans and Scotty Rice and plantains

I'm always down to try new Caribbean food, and this place did not disappoint! It's a pretty small menu so you're not overwhelmed with options. What makes this different than typical takeout Caribbean shops is the bowl option. You pick your protein and rice, and then have many other toppings to add. I opted for no toppings because I wanted to focus on the curry goat and rice flavours. The curry was the perfect spice level, and the goat was nice and tender, but the rice was the true star of the show for me. I highly recommend getting both rice flavours (no extra cost) because they complement each other so well. The portion sizes are massive as well, perfect to carry over to a second meal or share with a friend! The decor and layout is so beautiful too, and there's some seating to enjoy your meal there after you order it at the counter. Parking is minimal and hard to access with the busy Hwy 7 right there, but Scotty Bons is worth the effort to get there!

came here for lunch and got the jerk chicken bowl ($14.45). Overall, found it a great deal. The food was pretty good with a large selection of toppings and the portion sizes are huge! Probably enough for two people even. Enjoyed it and wouldn't mind coming back.

Clean and bright location that opens late. Quite nice decor on the inside, but only a couple of tables means its mainly a takeout joint. Jerk Chicken Sandwich - Pretty cheap for a good sized sando. Your choice of toppings, 4 pieces of boneless chicken and then toasted on a panini grill. Boneless was a good choice on a sando, the bread was a bit lackluster and felt a bit dry. Ox tail roti - Pretty big portions, but a bit hard to eat a roti with proteins with bones. Luckily, its not wrapped =). Oxtail was pretty good, but felt a bit cold, maybe because it was near end of day.

First visit to Scotty Bons did not disappoint! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share amongst a group of 7, family style - sandwiches, jerk chicken wings, jerk chicken, BBQ chicken, coleslaw, and rice & beans. The sandwiches were juicy & so satisfying, but I have to say, the jerk chicken wings and thighs really stood out for me. Incredibly well seasoned, moist, and it paired so well with the coleslaw, rice & beans, and mango chutney. The only thing is that they can sell out by end of day, so you might want to order in a bit in advance for larger orders. The parking situation at this location also isn't the greatest, but I think it's still worth the visit (just avoid rush hour when Hwy 7 is jam packed).

2.5 STARS Noticed Scotty bons is finally open, after weeks of waiting. Got two orders to go; jerk chicken and bbq chicken. It came with a side of cabbage coleslaw, skinless chicken thigh jerk/bbq chicken, rice and peas and a bit of sautéed bell peppers. First bite of the jerk, super dry chicken thighs. I never knew you can over cook chicken thighs to that point, and where's the skin? The jerk marinade was light and a bit spicy at the end, could use bit more jerk seasoning for the chicken to absorb more flavour. Rice and peas were a tad bit mushy, but flavour was good, I can really taste the coconut milk. Best thing on the dish was the coleslaw; had the right amount of creaminess, sweetness and salt. . Same thing goes for the bbq chicken. It was sadly very dry. I'm pretty sure whoever is cooking in the back is not Jamaican, cause they would never overcook chicken (thighs) like this. I'm a little appalled actually. I think Scotty bons is not an authentic Caribbean joint for those seeking for flavour, punch and authenticity. I will not be back, even though it's super close to me, I'd rather drive out 15 more minutes to get the real deal.

Jerk Chicken Bowl

I saw people posting about a BOGO via DoorDash so I took advantage of it as It was my first time having Scotty Bons. I got the jerk chicken bowl and even though I got mild, it had a nice kick to it. My chicken wasn't as dry as the other reviewers have mentioned but my rice was a tad mushy. Not sure if that was my fault though cause I did ask for a few of their sauces. Portion size is decent. I like the variety of options like the corn, cold slaw, etc making it very customizable. One bowl had 3 pieces of chicken while the other had only 2...not sure what's up with that lol

Denise P.

Really enjoyed the jerk chicken bowl and jerk chicken sandwich. The curry chicken bowl was also good but not as impressive as their jerk items. I ordered through ubereats so cannot comment on their service.

We liked the Jerk Pork more, spicy and very flavourful with a nice dry rubbed crisp "bark". Lunch deal with rice was 8 bucks. What we had was gluten free. The lady that greeted me is nice and friendly but with a really heavy caribbean accent.. We have to both repeat everything that we said to each other before we got an idea what we talking about.. Chinese Accent VS Island Accent! :) Jerk Chicken Leg Dinner ($5.50) - I was a little bit disappointed with the Jerk Chicken. Usually I pick the leg part because it usually not as dry and more juicy. However, I have to say that it is dry and tough.... it resembles more of a "Jerky" Chicken than a Jerk Chicken - For side you can pick either a veggie or coleslaw. Veggie is a combination of cabbage and carrot.. plain and simple but nice and healthy - The rice is the star of this meal as me and my friends fighting to eat the rice.. good mix of kidney beans and some gravy to give it a little kick Can I dare to say I was a little disappointed with the Jerk Chicken at Mr Jerk? It is one of the worse one I ever have. BTW, my friends were really hesitate to eat the Jerk Chicken because it was like black... looks like it was really burnt.. I have to explain to them those are just the spice rub they use :). Lunch specials for students $2 for a beef patty and a pop... I wonder if she will ask me for ID if I order one of those? :) 2.5 star

This store is located a few doors down from Church's Chicken. The former is closest to McCowan Road. I backed into a parking spot closest to the store. I walked in. This place has hot foods. It had jerk chicken, curry, goat, and a lot more when I was there. I saw the oxtail, which is my favourite dish out of the bunch. I'll need to come back for it. I was here for patties. This place has cheap prices when it comes to frozen, boxed patties. I normally see a dozen frozen beef patties for $20 at my usual patty places. This place had them for $15.50. Such a great deal! You can get veggie, chicken, and beef patties. With beef, it comes in mild, regular spicy, and extra spicy. I got a box of regular spicy. I could smell the hot patties. I had to get one for the road. I got a regular spicy beef patty. I couldn't resist! The woman who was originally behind the hot foods helped me get my hot patty. I paid for my purchases with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked her and left with my purchases. You can get bread here, too. It has rolls on the weekend. I liked seeing desserts by the payment area. It was difficult for me to resist getting some. Next time, for sure. I was determined to get patties and I succeeded. I ate my beef patty as I drove off to run my next errand. It was so good. The spice level was nice. The patty was hot. The outside was flaky, but sturdy. I was a happy camper. I've had a few patties at home. Whether I heat them up in a toaster oven or microwave oven, they are yummy and bring great joy to me and my tummy. I'm glad that I finally visited this store. I have passed by it countless times. I'll be back for more patties and some oxtail. (97)

To compare the two, I ordered a spicy beef patty and tested them for flakiness, crispness, and filling. First off price wise. It was $3.10 including tax. Slightly higher than at "Allwyn's". $0.40 is not going to break anybody's bank But I found the beef patty here considerably better than at the other place. The crust was both flaky AND crispy and the filling was divine with just the right amount of spicy essence. I only rated it 4 stars because it still didn't warrant me going back and ordering a dozen for home consumption. All in all it was a very good patty and I will be back for one at a time if craving a delicious beef patty. I also will be back to try my other Caribbean favourite. " Jerk Chicken". The chicken was soft and tender, and curry was nice, but the roti itself was thick and wasn't as good as I hoped it'd be. Same goes for the beef curry roti. I imagined it would be an actually piece of jerk chicken breast but it was grounded chicken with jerk spices which was great! It was nicely spiced. The only draw back was it was cold. I'm guess they made the burger first, and then made the fries. The burger was topped with coleslaw and on the bottom tomato, cucumber and lettuce. The cucumber was weird to me I expected pickles which would have been a nice salty balance to the spice of the burger. The coleslaw was ok on the burger it gave it the creaminess you needed because there are no condiments on the burger. No mayo, or anything. It takes over from where Soca Palace used to be. This eatery is steps away from my go-to pharmacy and is next to National Bank in a plaza that takes me seven minutes to get to by car. Caribbean Cabana specializes in Guyanese-style Chinese food. It offers 100% halal food and is fully LLBO-licensed. We had quite the feast: - Cabana wonton soup - Curry goat with roti - Cabana fried rice - Cabana combo (appetizers) - Singapore Noodles - Basha (fish - spicy) - Cabana mixed veggies - Calamari - Lo-wontons We asked for water and got a carafe that had a yellow tint. We joked that it looked like urine. Luckily, it wasn't. I asked the same nice woman for a refill on the water. The carafe only filled four glasses out of the seven. It was a busy afternoon thanks to a Toronto Blue Jays game being broadcast while we were there. We eventually got the refill and were content. The wonton soup was full of veggies and wontons in a tasty broth. We got the Cabana combo, which featured spring rolls, fried wontons, fries, and onion rings. It was perfect for snacking and sharing! We continued our fry fest with calamari that was done to perfection. It was seasoning perfectly with none of that rubbery nonsense. It was my first time having lo-wontons. They were unique and now my favourite way to enjoy wontons in a light soy-based sauce with lots of green onion. The curry goat was amazing. The goat was flavourful and tender. The roti was so yummy. I dipped it in the curry. It was also yummy to eat on its own. The singaporian noodles were delicious. I loved the veggies, shrimp, and chicken mixed in with perfectly cooked vermicelli and the best sauce. Basha was excellent. Fried fish with a spicy kick. Not crazy. Highly flavourful with flaky fish, lightly battered, but super crispy and tender. Yum! Say yes to bell peppers and onions. I devoured the Cabana mixed veggies. This place does broccoli so well. Crunchy. Yummy. We ended up doing the holy protein trinity of beef, chicken, and shrimp. The veggies balanced our proteins out nicely. If you love chicken, you must try the Cabana fried rice. You get succulent chicken with crispy skin on top of the best fried rice. So good! We had some food left over.
