Blink you'll miss it!

Been waiting to try Nina's for a while, and took the time today to drive along highway 7 for some take out. As of writing, due to COVID-19 measures take out is the only option, and we were quickly served. We decided to split a goat and a chicken roti wrap, along with a medium order of oxtail and rice to share amongst the three of us. The roti wraps were stuffed with no shortage of protein. They were hearty and filling, with some trace bones in the chicken. You also have the option for the hot sauce on the side, which was a good choice as without knowing beforehand it is always wise to try it first. The oxtail came in smaller pieces and were quite boney. You are given a generous scoop into of rice. More than enough to share with leftovers for later. You are also given a comp coleslaw which us a nice touch. Overall, the total was about $35.00 which is fairly decent value. For the wrap itself, seemed a bit dowey to Aneals' in Richmond Hill, which may come out on top overall. However, I would definitely recommend a roti, and will try one with a patti next time! -Zuk

Jerk chicken and rice and peas

Walking in its a clean establishment and the food is all laid out there in front of you for you to choose from. I had the jerk chicken. The flavours were good especially the rice and peas which she offered the oxtail gravy on. It was spot on and packed with flavour once it was soaked in the sauce. The woman working there said she recommends the oxtail gravy with the rice and peas and curry goat gravy with the white rice. The chicken itself was a little overcooked but the flavours were all there and it was very tender as a result and easily separated from the bone. The homemade hot sauce had quite a kick to it, adding a good dose of spice to the chicken but not much flavour otherwise which is okay since the chicken is flavourful enough by itself. The coleslaw was nice but not too special. The only other addition I would have and why I took a point off is that the tables were sticky for no reason. I think it had something to do with the varnish used. I could say that I would recommend this place if you are stopping for a quick lunch.

The foods was absolutely delicious!!! The star of the show was definitely the oxtail and rice, this is a MUST ORDER! The protein portions are extremely generous, and I recommend the chicken roti to change up the flavors. Lastly, the service is friendly and helpful will definitely come back for the ackee and saltfish!

Mac and cheese and chicken

Mac and Cheese was stale and the chicken was alright - will not come back here again, the mac and cheese gave me food poisoning - and he said he would give me 3 pieces and gave me 2, what a rip off

Nice local spot for times when you are craving some curry goat with rice. It's in small plaza on Highway 7 and caters to local businesses and take outs. I usually get the curry goat roti but went with curry goat with rice. A medium goes for about $13.50 including tax but you get 3 lbs of food. Box of rice with beans with a bed of tender flavourful curry goat on top. Goat pieces are on the bone, but that makes it even more flavourful. It's enough to feed 2-3 people. Also come with a nice cole slaw and a small container of hot sauce. Maybe you can take the spice, as the hot sauce has some serious heat. If you are in the area and craving some island food, this is a good spot.

Not a very good photo of the chicken roti.

Chicken roti was good but curry could have had more depth in flavour. The chicken got more dry as I continued to eat. Beef patty was nice and warm by the time I got it from UberEats. Had a good amount of spice to it. Overall good place to order lunch from.

The staff were friendly and the service was quick and easy. I ordered a veggie roti for takeout and paid $8 (with tax) which I thought was a good price. I was surprised at how large and how heavy the container was. That is, until I got home and opened it. The roti consisted almost solely of whole chick peas. The curry flavour was there but it was not the main component as all I could taste was chick peas. Overall, I was very disappointed and found this roti to be bland and not to my liking. I may try some of their other offers but I would not every purchase a veggie roti here again.

Good for lunch. I usually get the oxtail on rice. Well seasoned so that it complements the meat and not overpowering.

Good variety. Delicious food. Great value…read more This place was an accidental find, but a welcome one at that. Drupatis, despite being branded as Caribbean Chinese Cuisine, is actually more like a tri-hybrid of Indian, Caribbean, and Chinese, with all cuisines being properly represented with all of the said cultures' best offerings. The Boneless Curry Lamb ($15.80) was cooked well and was very tender. The Trini Bar-B-Que was extremely good value at its price point of $14.65. It was served with what I would assume as Yang Chow Fried Rice, some green salad, coleslaw, and BBQ chicken lathered with a creamy white sauce. We also were able to try the Soya Sauce Chicken ($14.75), which was like a sweet and sour chicken dish. For appetizers, we were able to try the Aloo (potato) Pie ($4.15) and the Saheena ($4.85). For anyone wanting to try some uniquely Trinidad and Tobago snack food, I would recommend the Saheena, which is fried rolled-up spinach leaves. This fried snack was a good balance to the strong and saucy flavors from our other food orders. We ordered everything at the same time, but the Saheena was served last and after all of our main dish orders. It was a good amount of busy when we dined in at around 1:30 PM on a Sunday. People were sitting for dine in and there was constant turnover of people coming in to pick-up takeout. The dining area was roomy with lots of space in the middle. I believe the place caters to events and other functions with how the layout is done.

Problem was I stood there alone trying to figure out if anyone was actually working. I continued to stand by the half wall in the entrance waiting for someone to come out and ask dine in or take out?. Finally, after what seemed a long minute, I saw someone moving around in a cut out located off the side around the corner leading to the hallway....you'd need to know this or you may find yourself leaving due to lack of people running out to help you. I can see why the comments for poor service, the person that took my order was uninspired and made no effort to accommodate anything without being pressed, despite telling her it was my first time there and needed help. I could not understand why I had to order at the cash in order to dine in?? Pretty sure made it clear I wanted to sit and try a few things, yet, I was told to order at the cash, got a Styrofoam container with my food, plastic fork & knife and sat myself. Even stranger was not 5 mins later, someone else came in, went to the cash, then sat in the dining room table where he was fully catered to and served food, ate with a real plate and full cutlery...Awkward?!. That aside, I had the Jerk Chicken/Curry Goat combo plate for $16.50 (all in). The food was tasty, Chicken and Goat were tender, rice and beans cooked perfectly and slaw was slightly bland. Overall the flavors were pleasant not too strong/spicy, The large portion plate included 4pcs of chicken and the goat filled the smallest void in the tray, Largest portion was rice and beans. I found they were pricey for the size and some of the dishes and Roti was higher than I expected,($15) so I did not order them. Overall, good food, price on the high end, service non-existent (in my case).
