Great spot for affordable Caribbean food. It was my first time, and I saw it was a good sign when there was a decent lineup for lunch. I got their lunch special that runs Mon-Fri for $10. Lunch special: Comes with jerk chicken, rice and peas, and a side salad. I got the mac salad for my side salad. And, of course, get the oxtail gravy. The meal was decent portions for lunch, and the service was quick and efficient. Solid deal for only $10! Overall, I would totally come back again for lunch. The macaroni salad was great! I ordered a medium BBQ/Jerk Chicken, and while they both tasted okay, I felt that the Jerk was a little bit more lacking in flavour than the BBQ. The chicken that I received on my visit that day was all a bit dry. Portion size for the rice was really large. And like the other reviews have said, the macaroni salad is really good. TIP: Ask for some hot sauce--- it tastes really good! (Warning: it's got a kick to it!) Was a bit disappointed in my experience this time, given the other remarkable reviews on this page. This is by far, the most amazing Caribbean restaurant ever! I am never disappointed. Always impressed. My favorites are the beef roti and their jerk pork, which I just learned is served only on special days of the week. First, their jerk pork! I ordered a small container. I should have gotten a large! You will dream about this for days! The flavor and tenderness is extraordinary! I can live off this jem! It's the tastiest pork ever! Next is their roti! Get the beef. However, it doesn't matter what meat you get, you will know it's tender, tasty and the heat is perfect! I told them before to kick it up a notch with the spice. The heat is there, but you can taste the flavors of the meat and spice. The combination will take you on a flavor trip to the islands. This independently owned establishment is so important to support. These people are just the best! I will never go anywhere else for my Caribbean food. This is my goto spot. I have tried many caribbean establishments around the city, and have grown up within the culture. I have traveled to the islands many times, and am very critical when it comes to my choice of Caribbean cuisine. Emily's brings me back to when I used to swap my lunch with my friends home made offerings and I would never turn down a chance to eat at my friend's house when his mom was cooking up a batch of chicken and dumplins, fried fish, caliloo or whatever she decided to make. Everything but the fried chicken has been excellent. It was dry but I did come an hour before closing. I will give it another shot, but the staples here are by far the best renditions I have tried in the city. Ox tail is deep with meat flavours but balanced out with a bit of sweetness. The curry goat is spiced just right. Goat meat is not too overwhelming, and the curry carries it well. Jerk chicken is, once again, balanced. Moist, not too spicy, salty or overly seasoned, just right imo. Finally, I want echo what many reviewers have mentioned already. The macaroni salad is a must! An additional large order of macaroni salad is always added to my dinner order. Always. It's that good. If you're in the area, or heck, willing to make the drive for some good ol fashioned home style food, give Emily's palace a try. 5* read more

I tried their Veggie Roti and was impressed with how good it was. It was extremely flavourful and I would go back again just for their Rotis. I spoke with the male manager and he told me they are made fresh everyday in house. I believe him because you can taste the quality. He was very friendly though I found his employees behind the counter were distracted and not terribly courteous. read more

The best part, the lunch special is easy on the wallet :) Got the jerk chicken, rice n peas with pasta salad. Good choice and would do it again. Cashier mentioned patties are from Tinnel's. Asked for hot sauce and was proudly told, the hot sauce is homemade, and it's fire. The good kind of fire. Can't go wrong here as there's not too many Caribbean spots in this area. All I got to say is I drive from Markham to this place on a regular day this is my second time here in a week and I'm in love and the fact that they are open on a Sunday is amazing! I got the jerk chicken (no picture) very tasty and curry goat & oxtail everything is great prices are great taste is great I will be coming back! The place was one called De Kings kitchen which they have on yelp as closed but they are indeed open with good food! Everything is tender and juicy very generous on the gravy and hot sauce is amazing and home made and DO NOT forget to get the macaroni salad it's a must! read more

Ever since it opened my husband and I have been frequent visitors. There's always other customers in store either dining in or taking out. Huge fan of their curry goat roti, ox tail dinner, jerk chicken, macaroni salad and Mac pie (with oxtail gravy, only available on the weekends) If you're looking for a quick snack, you can't go wrong with their spicy beef patty.
