Never had a bad experience until today. The cashier was rude from the start. As I walked to the cashier, I said hello and I was straight up ignored. Soon after the cashier slammed a customer before me's receipt on the table. When she was taking my order she never asked me if I wanted vegetables on my order or said anything really. As I waited for my order my number was called and I took 5 seconds to read my receipt to make sure that was my number being called. I went up to get my food and as the cashier was turning I could see her rolling her eyes at me. And my meal had green onions topped all over which I never asked for. I came today asked for a chicken bowl and a drink and I asked her a simple question and she gave a stern look and didn't answer , so I was like ok cool in my head , and then she forgets to give me my drink and gives it with attitude, honestly I understand like maybe she stressed out because yeah in the fast food industry it isn't easy but their is also something called human decency, and that young girl did not have that. My wife and I went to this location last Saturday. We tried the chicken bowl with vegetables and green onions, over brown rice. We were pleasantly surprised by the juiciness of the chicken and the perfectly cooked brown rice. The veges were warm, crisp and fresh. We especially enjoyed their magic sauce which was not too sweet but just perfect for the chicken. Service was great as we were greeted warmly by the cashier. She gave us extra sauce to go and the food came out quickly. Price was very reasonable, about the same price as a sandwich. We are looking forward to another visit soon. read more

Trying something new stopped with my son and found the food to be good. The restaurant was clean and the wait for my food was not long. They advertise a healthy option where you get to choose white rice or brown and, choice of protein I choose all veggies no rice. They actually gave me a good serving of veggies too. I love Flame Broiler! The chicken & brown rice bowl packs 67 grams of complex carbs, 43 grams of protein and only 4.5 grams of fat @ only 610 calories. Healthy, delicious and cheap - can't beat that! I've also noticed that the chicken can vary a bit by location. Some locations don't do as good a job of taking off all the fat but the Downey location is by far one of my faves. read more

As a repeat customer of frame broiler I honestly expected more I went there with my girlfriend for two mini bowls the total came out to $11.80 the cashier said that and they do not have a screen showing the total when you put your card in but she said the total so like normal I inserted my card after I put it in the screen said card declined and as I took the card out the total read $1,180.00 I brought this to her attention and she said don't worry it probably did not go through so she put in the correct amount and had my try again when I did it kicked my card out saying insufficient funds at the time I only had $180.60 in my account I told her it did go through as $1,180.00 and she refunded me what it took out which was $180.60 because that's all I had in my account my problem is not with her she refunded the money it took which was good my problem is with the manager he said they were going to take the refund back because they couldn't see the charge on their system he waited a week and a half then took the refund back. Explain to me how I call my bank because I get a notice that my account dropped to ZERO dollars and they said there was a charge made but they refunded you the money so you will be all good apparently not. Great place when you want to eat fresh as well as something relatively healthier than your conventional eating out places. The teriyaki bowls are great with fantastic portions. Today as walked in the restaurant I saw an employee smoking outside. I ordered my food and I then saw the same employee that was outside smoking come in and begin serving our food, without washing his hands. I immediately cancelled my order and got a refund. I visited this locations about 3 times and got the same result: dry chicken. Ridiculously dry. This location precook their meat. When you ask for it fresh, they act like they will but all they're doing is recooking the meat for a longer period. Don't pay for white meat, it isn't worth it. Anybody knows that it would take minimum 8-10 minutes to cook fresh chicken, not 3-5. Service is horrible and their magic sauce has lost its magic. read more

The veggies are overcooked the cabbage is undercooked and they used too much water in the brown rice. Oh and the jalapeños have a funny aftertaste. The service was exceptional and the location very clean. They just need to fine tune a few things and they'll get a much higher rating from me. First time at this location I would like to given this places maybe 5-star rating because the food was actually pretty darn good the chicken and brown rice veggies avocado all tasted very fresh, but the reason I am giving them a 3-star rating is because when you walk in and go up to the cashier, which in this case the girl was very polite taking my order, but at times it was really hard to hear her because there's loud music coming out from the kitchen area. the only reason why i'm giving a 1 star instead of 2 is because this has happened almost every time i've ordered from this place. i always order tofu, and for some reason i still always get dead bodies in my bowl: steak and chicken. i understand that they don't change the grill, and there are times when meat may end up in my bowl, but this only happens at this location. i work nearby, so this is one of the only veggie-friendly restaurants that i could eat from during my lunch. it's every disappointing when my meal is consistently ruined by poor, careless training. although it is a tad more expensive, i'm definitely taking my dollars over to fresh griller, which is just a few doors down. read more
