Came here to call it a night with a friend I haven't seen in about a decade. He wanted to avoid anything fried and I was with that since I wasn't exactly great the last couple of days as far as trying to eat clean. This particular location is extremely difficult to find a parking space too, so count on walking a good hundred plus feet or so. That being said, the food is a solid product, although the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. And while Im all for being safe and wearing masks if you so choose, the reality is a person communicating through a mask rarely hears you correctly the first time, nor will you really be able to see what their expressions are to see if they in turn understood exactly what you ordered. At least that's been my reality when I'm trying to order food to someone wearing a mask the last couple of times. All in all, we got a decent amount of food for the two of us, although 40 plus bucks is still a bit of a ride. If you can deal with the parking, and want to eat some chicken as clean as possible, I recommend this spot. read more

This is the first Flame Broiler I've been to that doesn't have bottles of Magic and hot sauces on the table. This wouldn't have been a big deal but your only allowed 3 sauce packets. I usually put 3 packs of Magic Sauce and 3 packs of hot sauce, no go for that at this location. read more

First time trying Flame Broiler and we loved it! The restaurant is tucked away towards the back of a shopping center where Ralphs, Denny's and Starbucks are most prominent. You wouldn't realize it was there. There's always tons of parking available in the center and we parked right in front. I had read the reviews and was preparing to find something completely different, but I was pleasantly surprised. The place is extremely cool and clean, counter spotless, open kitchen view and I even used the bathroom to wash my hands. Lots of cleanliness. My husband got a bulgogi bowl and I got a half and half. Veggies were fresh and nicely cooked. Everything was tasty and portions were amazing. We were the only customers dining in, but don't let that be deceiving. They had quite a number of customers come in for pickup and dining out. Cashier was bilingual and he tended to English and Spanish speaking customers. We weren't the only 1st timers and I heard him make some suggestions to another customer who asked for a recommendation. Overall great experience, tasty, healthy and filling food. If the place has had a makeover in the past year, it's unfortunate that old reviews are not helping promote its current state. Great job Flame Broiler! Almost didn't try this place based on the reviews, but I live right across the street and someone said it was okay. Straight up, the fact that there was no one in the place was a bad sign. The counter also looked a bit ghetto and unwelcoming, sporting a beaten up plexiglass barrier that looked like it might've seen a few holdups. The service was friendly enough and fast, although I think the bowl was a bit pricey for what it was. I ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice, which had plenty of chicken but perhaps not the best quality. The veggies weren't bad either. I was a little skeptical of this place after reading a few reviews but my boyfriend has been here before and loves it so I decided to give it a try. It was actually really good! We ordered 2 chicken and veggie bowls for takeout and waited maybe 7 minutes before it was done which seemed super quick. You get to choose the 3 sauces you want on the side. The teriyaki one (Tastes like it to me) is super delicious and 2 is a good amount! and then i got the spiciest one which had such a great flavor but was a little too spicy for me. Beware! I never post negative reviews. My 2nd time visiting this restaurant & it was a bad experience because I questioned a 2.11 charge which was the all white meat. I ordered the combo plate & received a combo bowl. So to keep the peace I ordered another plate this time an all beef plate to go. My beef was stone cold & the bowl sauce spilled inside all over the bag. I did not appreciate the rudeness of the cook when I asked about the $2.11 extra white meat charge. There is no supervision & employees are left to play with customers food. When I called they pretend they do not understand. It was the cook Rigoberto Cruz that was responsible for the cold beef. This is like the third time I purchased a bowl and paid extra money for avocado and my avocado is black !! it's unacceptable. Why would you serve someone that and charge someone for that ..this is the third time.. I have to keep picking off the avocado because it's black and nasty and disgusting. First, let me say I didn't even get to try their food at this location cause I didn't get the opportunity to order my food! I went to their ACTUAL website which doesn't accommodate online ordering and says to call them. So, I call them and as soon as the lady answers she puts me on "hold" but apparently just lays the phone down. Meanwhile I hear orders being taken, conversations, quiet, then repeat. At least two employees taking orders at the register because one was female and one was male and the customers could also be heard. All the while I'm still on hold for over SEVEN (7) minutes before I finally hang up to call back! Then busy signal for who knows how long because I tried multiple times. I wasn't about to wake my sleeping child to go inside to order and then wait just because their staff doesn't know how to properly use a phone! I love Flame Broiler and had a taste for it and was looking to have a healthy meal with lots of veggies. After this VERY disappointing experience I highly doubt I'll try this location in the future. I'll have to drive to another location (further away from my home) to get some decent service it seems. I can only imagine how much business this location has missed because of these situations. I stopped here on a Thursday afternoon 2/6/2020. It was between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. I ordered half and half with no rice. I got a LOT of vegetables with very little chicken, which was dry. No beef. The cashier was nice but she didn't pay attention to my order. She didn't recall my name. Not a big deal, but I think it's part of her job to know to whom the order belonged to. I informed her that I ordered half and half. She gave me a side order of beef, which looked like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. It was also dry. I've been to Flame Broilers and this was probably one of the worst experiences. It's sad because it's not the owner's fault. You get into a franchise like this and you basically buy yourself a job. You have to be there all the time. The employees don't care. It's a poor business model. If you're not there, you'll be robbed blind and employees who don't care will run you to the ground. read more

Stood in line behind to pick up food and a customer with a dog was in front of me. I could tell by the conversation between the guy with the dog and the cashier the cashier would be tempted to pet the dog. Don't get me wrong the dog was cute and I felt sorry for it because it had a cone on its neck. BUT! I don't know this man or this dog and even IF I did I would NOT pet a dog and then handle food. The cashier finished up with the man with the dog and as I suspected proceeded to pet the dog. Then went straight back to the the register. I had to let the man/cashier know he needed to wash his hands first before assisting me. Then two other patrons walked up to me thanking me because apparently we were ALL thinking the same thing.. anyhow I can't escape the fact that he did that and now I can't trust they aren't handling animals and my food without washing hands when I'm not present. Today I just so happened to be in this area so came to this Flame Broiler, I do intermittent fasting and right now is my time to eat but instead of eating I'm doing this first lol you walk in it's one of the more ghetto locations, they don't have the iPad for you to put in your phone number to get the rewards, if you get the biggest option which is the plate you're only allowed to have two Magic sauces and two hot sauces. Sometimes I get the plate sometimes I get the ball but all the time they allow me to get three of each and nobody ever says anything. This place rather than give me a warning literally took my card and swiped me for two extra sauces and overcharged also... Sign says $.25 each somehow he charge me $.85. Then after seeing me sitting down waiting for my food he asks me oh by the way are you vaccinated... No I'm not... Well then you can't eat here. I understand that many restaurants are short staffed due to the pandemic, BUT refusing to answer the phone so that customers think you're closed is unacceptable. You're just going to make sales decrease and then they really won't hire additional staff. I called almost a dozen times as I was on my way. I knew there was no way they could be closed at 7:45pm on a Wednesday. When the guy finally answered I asked if they were closed because no one was answering the phone, he said they were busy. I placed my order for pick up and arrived 2-3 minutes later. I was fully expecting to see a line out the door or a full restaurant, BUT no. There were only 3 separate customers/groups when I arrived. I understand they could be busy with other phone orders or online orders, but those orders don't prevent them from answering the phone and putting new customers on hold. Flame Broiler is a place I usually visit a few times a month at the location in Westwood. This is a new franchise opening at the Raintree Plaza Shopping Center right next to the Ralph's Supermarket. Bowls no longer half full like some old experiences from reviewers below. They actually had more rice than normal making it dome shaped above the lid. Taste is same however I am accustomed to charbroiled meat. The food tasted it was half cooked and placed in a warmer the whole day. Beef and chicken were chewy. As far as service, definitely slow. There were 3 staff members but very new. Didn't seem to have any leadership presence. You can tell they were inexperienced and lacked direction. I am hoping management reads this and improves. It is simple food. First time and I had the steak Bowl size Reg. Portions seemed fine as it was a decent amount of the protein. I dig rice so could always do with some more. 2nd had a plate and felt the $1.80 difference was well worth the increase in food(will admit the fruit was just a half an orange). They go light on seasoning as you can tell by the writing on the wall(literally!!!) and only offer a few items to guarantee freshness so duhh, those 1 star reviewers are lame Humans who feel better when complaining. Hands down the best place in the area to go for a quick, nutritious meal under 10 dollars. I use to get the plate, as I enjoyed the sesame salad dressing, but now I just get the half and half bowl.
