9/1/26 This was my first time ordering from The Flame Broiler, and it definitely will not be my last! The chicken was absolutely delicious. It had this amazing grilled, almost charcoal-broiled flavor that made it taste so much better than I expected. Even the rice, which seems simple, tasted so good with the chicken. What I really love is that I can enjoy something that tastes this good while still getting a healthy, high-protein meal. I ordered the NAE Chicken Bowl with 41g+ of protein, and I was seriously impressed. The Buy One, Get One Free deal made it even better! My delivery driver was also great and communicated with me when he was trying to locate my place. He found it and delivered everything without a problem. I'm definitely adding The Flame Broiler to my favorites and will be ordering again. I'll also be recommending it to anyone I know who wants a delicious, healthier, high-protein meal. 10/10! read more

Food: The food at Flame Broiler is solid for a quick meal. The bulgogi bowl is flavorful and hits the spot, though the portion size is on the smaller side. Their sauce really is pretty tasty and makes the meal more enjoyable. Service: Service is quick and efficient. You don't have to wait long, which is great if you're in a rush. Ambiance: The place is small but neat and very clean. People will come and go. read more

From the food to the service, everything is always the best here you can always count on it to be bomb and no issues, I do like this location because they actually have an actual kitchen, some of them have like a buffet line type thing! But I have to say this has to be the best one that I've been to! read more

Food was not what I ordered; after getting asked to show my phone to prove my name...as if I randomly picked the name of the person ordering the food. Got home and my bowl had a bunch of broccoli- I ordered cabbage only. Called to let them know and the person working (Eduardo) hmmm'd and hawww'd with no solution. Still waiting on a call back. Korean Spicy Chicken plate. It's really good, just the right amount of spicy and you can add more hot hot sauce if you like. I'm a good eater and I had left overs. The only thing is I wished the veggies were cooked more to make them a lil softer but they were good in a "more health" kind of way. Nice guy at the counter and the place looked clean. read more

Flame broiler is always a go to for a solid healthy meal. I've had the beef bowls, but honestly don't think it comes close to the chicken bowls. Plenty of parking in this plaza and is located right beside a Baskin Robbins for those who can't find the place. Service is good, friendly individuals working the counter and line moves fast whenever there is one. Price is fair and not sure if it applies to all locations but this one offers 10% military discount! read more

Classic teriyaki spot! No doubt, this is a great place for a quick bite but I must shout out Ricky for his exceptional service and demeanor. Fantastic vibes, knowledgeable, helpful, and engaging! He recommended the classic half & half combo of chicken and beef. I was able to order both veggies and rice on the side -- with less of the latter. The regular portion was a good size and solid value at $11 with tax. The sauces are the star of the show here: the magic sauce is a delicious teriyaki. Then you can't go wrong with the hot sauces - I really enjoyed their hottest sauce, which was flavorful without being overwhelming. read more

It's been about 5 years since my last review of this location and I had to hop on and still offer my appreciation and 5 stars for this location. As I wait for my order I noticed just how popular this place has gotten in the last few years, especially with the amount of mobile orders during prime time. The employee I see often during evenings is always in a great mood, super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and any promotional info. I always champion flame broiler for having such a simple menu, awesome sauces, and being a healthier option in the Eastlake area. They just released their new charbroiled wings a few weeks ago and I am excited to try. Keep it up yall! read more

Everything is just bland. I thought I would get some flavor and spice since these are supposedly Korean-inspired but it tastes slightly better than frozen meal bowls. I could barely taste the marinade. Service was fast during lunch hour and the soda machine offers a variety of tea and electrolyte options. I just wish the bowls had more flavor to them. read more

I come to this location pretty often, probably at least 2-3 times a month. I've ordered online, by phone, and walk in. Most of my orders are by phone on the way home. They usually ask how long till I'm there to ensure they start cooking it in just enough time. Their food is simple and consistently great. Protein choices are beef, tofu, or chicken. Mix for 1/2 and 1/2. And a good portion size of vegetables. I usually opt for all broccoli. In comparison to other bowls, Flame Broiler has larger portion of veggies while other places have a small side. The staff is always helpful and really friendly. Definitely recommend them when you're looking for healthy alternatives when you're short on time. read more

I haven't been here for a while, but decided to get some dinner. Although the food was decent, the price wasn't. Talk about inflation! Two bowls and a side of kimchi, which they forgot to include, came to a total of $26! I should've just made this at home for less than $10 for several more servings. I'm just being honest. Not the bang for your buck. read more

I tried the Mission Valley location some time ago and never knew Chula Vista had one. Upon looking for a bite to eat I normally gander over next door to L and L but noticed this FB sitting there fairly empty. Was around the area and wanted to try something new and healthy. Got on my Yelp and found that this business had great reviews so I decided to give it a shot. The parking is vast (since there's numerous businesses around) and it's easy to spot! Once I arrived I was greeted and the employees were happy and had such positivity! There was a line but it was going quick. Once it wasn't turn I decided to order the plate with half beef and half chicken with brown rice and mixed vegetables. I was considering extra meat but they give you an abundance of it!!! I was shocked and excited at the same time! After he loaded my plate I got green onion on top and avocado. With a water and the plate it ended up being around $13. Not that bad at all for the amount of food you get. I also got the extra hot and original sauce to mix with my rice and it was amazing!!!! I highly recommend it if you like spicy! But I recommend getting the bowl or something else besides the plate if it's only you, because that was a lot to eat especially for me! And trust me I LOVE TO EAT! I will definitely be back here and definitely recommending this place to others! Thank you so much for your food and hospitality!! read more

This is a great healthy alternative to Panda Express or LL barbecue etc.. We always get the combo angus beef and chicken. The flavor of the chicken had a strong charbroiled taste. I actually like the simplicity and the healthier offerings of the Flame Broiler, but I have to call them out when things are not as good as they should be. I ordered the regular bowl with chicken over vegetables. The chicken had good color and flavor but it was a little on the dry side. When I say them scooping the chicken into my bowl, I notice I received the bottom of the container before a new batch was made. I should of asked for chicken from the new batch. The vegetable combination were cooked probably and still had a good crunch on then, but they need to seasoned them. The were bland so I had to add some soy to liven them up a bit. Perhaps that's what one is suppose to do. The staff members were friendly and the place was well kept. read more

Great options for those trying to eat healthy on the go! I've been eating clean for a few months now, so this came in handy on a late evening of errands. Their menu is simple and so is the food. I ordered two plates with brown rice and chicken. Opted for the extra veggies since the guy recommended that ppl prefer that over the salad. It was a lot of food. I actually used the rest to meal prep for the next few days. If you're looking for clean and simple, then try them out! read more

The food is okay but I don't like the markup in price during and after COVID. Therefore I don't eat there hardly anymore. They also seemed to not fill the bowl as much as they used to so less food and higher prices. Lastly, the meat seems DRY. It's usually not a long wait to order and receive the food which is great. I LOVE the magic sauce and green onions. read more

Food is good, but their online ordering SUCKS! Do not order through their website, you won't get your order. Called the store 10 mins after my food was supposed to have been delivered, then was told I didn't order delivery. I had the receipt that showed I paid $7.38 delivery fee. Was told they would contact the manager and call me back. No call back. When you try to call the store, it says "user busy" repeatedly (tried over 15 mins). Finally drove to the place, asked them to make my order. Had to wait for manager to call me back for them to remake. He offered to refund me my delivery fee cash, asked to see if they could comp anything else, he offered me drinks or avocado, neither of which I had ordered in the first place. I get it, restaurants are struggling, but at least call me back! Yes, I'm hangry! Lol Update: Got my food at 7:20!!! Hallelujah! read more

service was terrible i tipped double just to get no rice and chicken instead of steak... its two different animals..

Been here a few times... it was never too busy, and the food is precooked so service was quick. Clean dining area with plenty of tables. Choose your base (veggies and/or white or brown rice), and protein (chicken/beef/tofu)... its pretty basic, but a good choice if you're looking for something quick and healthier than drive thru. Everything is cooked accordingly. I usually get half brown rice, half veggies (carrot, broccoli, cabbage), zucchini, and chicken. I have tried their steak, but still prefer chicken. Alone, you get that flame broiled taste, otherwise it's a bit bland. A little bit of the sauce they have available at the counter adds just enough flavor, it reminds me of teriyaki sauce. Servings are pretty generous, so a mini will satisfy those with a smaller appetite. I always have leftover when I get a regular bowl.. Prices seem fair. Heads up, if you want tofu there's a couple minutes wait since the tofu is made to order. read more

I'm on temporary assignment for work and I've already tried this place three times in two weeks. Pros: give you a good amount of meat. I always get the bowl cause I know the plate will be too much. Bowl has a lot of meat and I make sure to get half rice and half veggies. Otherwise they give you a LOT of rice. The veggies include cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. Worth the price. Cons: they still won't let you eat inside. And they do give you a lot of rice if you don't ask for half veggies. read more

I have to give this spot 5 stars, only because I've probably eaten here 4 times in the last 2 weeks. I think the appeal of this place really is its simple menu more than the health gimmick. The portion sizes are perfect for anyone, and the food is really good. House sauce is like a teriyaki, if I had to describe it. Sometimes, I just want plain carbs, with simple cooked veggies and a flavorful meat. I think this spot takes care of all of that. Good parking, cost is fine, service is fine, and the place is clean. I would eat here again for sure. read more

First time coming here and I'm so upset that I haven't come here before! This is definitely an ideal healthy fast-food! Eating here is just like meal prepping which is highly convenient for people who do so (such as myself)! Their protein portions are measured, they have healthy option sides (veggies, salad, white/brown rice), and their sauces do well to compliment the food! The establishment is very clean. The servers are nice and fast. I was allowed to do half-and-half with tofu and chicken (not on the menu, but they kindly allowed it). Not to mention that their prices are not unreasonable, but very fair. Definitely a hot spot for post-gym meals! The only reason why I don't give the complete 5 stars is because the interior of the establishment is pretty plain. It is very cafeteria-like, but not a problem. read more

Things have changed here.. I love this place, always have and always will. But with the way things are, they've adjusted which I can understand but now I can't see myself coming here in the near future till things get better. I ordered 2 mini bowls. Their portion size now is probably half of what it used to be and I'm paying over $6 for them now.. I can make comparable stuff to them at home and I guess I'm gonna have to do that, cause even if and when things return to normal I don't know if those prices and portion sizes are ever gonna back to what they used to be. We had a good run Flame Broiler. I'll never forget you.. read more

I have been to The Flame Broiler countless times so I decided that I should finally write the review it deserves. My go to meal is always the chicken bowl, less brown rice and more veggies, with lots of green onions on top. The food always tastes fresh and never feels as if it has been sitting for too long. They have other options too such as white meat chicken, beef, and tofu! I have tried them all and can confidently say they are equally delicious. Oh yeah, the sauces on the side are also a plus! Although the dish tastes great on its own, the magic sauce is the icing on the cake. I think this place serves as a great post workout meal and I usually end up here after finishing at the gym.
