It's in a pretty small space in an ever-changing area, Otay Ranch mall. Great place for pizza! Especially if you have allergies or dietary restrictions, the staff was really good at making sure there wasn't any cross contamination. And they have gluten free crusts and vegan cheese! I opted for the build you own pizza, and you can pretty much add however toppings you want. Once your pizza is ready and has been cooked in the fire stove, you can choose if you'd like any sauce on top as well. My pizza was delicious and was just the right size for me! Blaze Pizza has been a go-to place for us, but they seem to be turning into Panda Express because they are skimping a lot on the toppings like Panda is filling their to-go boxes less and less. We went again tonight and was very disappointed with the service and experience overall... Got a pepperoni pizza and a s'more for my daughter. As they were preparing the pizza, I had to take a phone call and stepped back a little. I noticed the girl put very little red sauce (no biggie, I guess), but then I saw very few pepperoni slices while still on my call. They put the pizza in the oven; too late. I did manage to tell the girl that pizza had a poor portion of pepperoni and sauce. She did offer to "pull it out of the oven and put more". I declined (how was she going to add more sauce and pepperoni?), my daughter wanted to eat. We literally got a pizza with just 4 pepperoni slices on one half and a few more on the other half, but also splattered with a little creamy sauce from who-knows-where, and a couple of green pepper, mushroom and black olive slices sprinkled over. We dined in, but we moticed they never called out to pick up the s'more...I had to get up after we were done to ask for the s'more, and two of the workers seemed to discuss the s'more; there was a small paper sleeve with what seemed to be the s'more in the back counter. One of the workers said, "we'll make you a new one, the other got burned". Two things about this: if I don't ask, I never get the s'more; and also, how do you burn a s'more? Overall, 2 stars just because the taste wasn't that bad, but the customer experience is not the same as years past. read more

The pizza at Blaze is so delicious! I love it! But I don't always want to leave the house to pick it up. Especially when I'm tired. So I order for delivery. The down side is that we have to go through a third party for delivery, since Blaze does not provide that service directly. I had a bad experience the last time I ordered for delivery. The pizza was ready at 7:30 pm, as promised. But Door Dash didn't get it to me until almost 8:30 pm. I called Door Dash to complain. I was told that i could not be refunded by them because I ordered from the store. Door Dash then said that they would refund the store and that the store, in turn, would refund me. When I called Blaze to have my refund processed, I was told that the blame for my dissatisfaction rested with Door Dash. However, Enia, a manager, told me that no such transaction had taken place. But she would process my refund anyway since customer satisfaction is a high priority. Thank you, Enia and Blaze. Please get your own delivery service! My family eats here a lot. The pizza is great, but the experience as a whole is terrible. EVERY time I go it's FREEZING cold inside. Just because I knew to expect it I too a thermometer tonight. 65.5 degrees is not comfortable for customers. Last time I asked they said it the air was broke.... It's been over a year since then. If that's not enough, they really don't seem to care about customers. Seems like any question is just bothering them. Asked for oregano on my pizza today. They were out. She went to the back to refill. Came back and I got one shake.... Like 5 flakes of oregano. She didn't even look at me and walked off to the oven. Again, when I went back to get the cheese, not only did she look I irritated that I needed something else, she said "I gave you cheese".... I also like that you can ask for extra meat toppings at no additional cost. March 14, 2023. This is my first time ever having blaze pizza and I guess I messed up coming on PI day. This place was hyped up to me by friends and coworker. I had placed my order and hadn't realized til I got home that they got the order wrong. They only wrote "BYO" (Build Your Own) on the paper and didn't correctly match the pizza. So I didn't end up getting the original pizza I had made. But none the less, the pizzas were still good. I recommend if you come and eat here; do NOT come on PI day. My only recommendation to the restaurant is to make a better system for everyone to get the right order on the busier days. I'd say to write what they want on the paper plus the number placard as well. But other then that it's amazing! read more

Ordered through Doordash and they made three out of four of our pizzas slightly wrong, missing an ingredient each. I think there's only been one time where everything we ordered came 100% correct, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt & just assume they ran out of some ingredients, and we only ever order to go so it's hard to know for sure. GinaBee and I were so looking forward to try Blaze Pizza, a fairly new pizza parlor in Otay Ranch Town Center. We received the coupons in the mail promoting it, but, we left it home wanting to support a new business, especially during COVID times. When we walked in the door, we weren't sure how to order, so, we asked the first crew member closest to the entrance. Now, we truly understand and respect face masks, but this young lady didn't know how to speak above the loud music and air conditioner. So, we had to kindly ask her to repeat herself at least three times. We didn't know whether to wait at the register to pay or sit at one of the uncleaned tables. Every time a crew member would make eye contact with us, they'd look away before I could get their attention. I asked my wife to just sit and wait at the dirty table. Each individual crew member appeared to be stationary in their work area. No one had it in them to take charge and help me and other customers who were waiting to be helped. We placed our order of Art Lovers Pizza with pepperoni, a side of Caesar Salad, an 805 beer and a Diet Coke. Then, about 8 minutes later, a young lady approached the register to take my payment. It took her a couple of minutes to tell me she'd pour our drinks. Our pizza arrived 15 minutes later. Our salad arrived five minutes after that. The Diet Coke ran out of syrup. So my wife settled for regular Coke. We had to ask fir girls and napkins to eat our salad. No plates for pizzas. The food was okay, but you can imagine how we felt after waiting and wondering whether when we'd receive our food. We nearly lost our appetite. No one had a sense of urgency. No one ever reached put to customers saying, "Have you been helped?" There was no clear leader/manager. read more

Our friend told me and the wife about this place, plus it was late and was one of the few restaurants open past 9PM. Parking was great since it's near the mall and there's several other businesses around the area. Once we arrived it was nice and we were greeted. The menu was right above the cashier so it was easy to read. We ended up ordering the keto crust for both. I ordered the BBQ Chicken and my wife ordered the White Top Pizza. It was fun to see how they make the pizza's and they had the original old school tradition on cooking the pizzas. Once we ordered it was a little pricey but they had a 20% discount for military which was awesome!! Now the only thing that was bad about this place and is why i gave Blaze 3 stars was how bland the pizzas were. Me and the wife were both disappointed on hiw our pizzas were. I can only say please do not order the Keto crust! It was not good at all, and we've had keto crust before that weren't that bland. Maybe we just need to try another crust for the pizzas. Just got delivery from here and this is the worst pizza I've had. I ordered 2 pizzas with vegan cheese, garlic, and sauce. It's hard as a rock. They barely have sauce and barely have cheese. I posted pictures to show how much the yellow pizza crust is showing through both pizzas. I wish I could get my money back because this is a horrible waste. Heard about this place through word of mouth, then realized this location was close to where I live!! I LOVE how they have so many different options as far as crust. Something for everyone, literally. If you're on the keto diet, they got you! If you're gluten free, they got you! If you want a healthier option, they have cauliflower crust! If you want that good ol original, they got you!! During this time in my life, I'm trying to make better choices, so I went with the cauliflower crust, and it was soooo good! WORSt SERVICE EVERRRRR first off, there was about 6 workers and it took them 10 minutes to get them to take our order and by the time they did, the line was out the door. Unacceptable. I'm pretty sure majority of the workers were high. By the time I started to order my food, the girl helping me was sooooo rude. I asked her to mix the garlic herb sauce and red sauce on the pizza twice. When she splattered the herb sauce she tried to put cheese(the wrong cheese) on the pizza when I had to ask her AGAIN to mix it in. She then THREW THE SPOON down and walked away. Long overdue review for this place that I've frequented multiple times. First off, they are an amazing company to work with for fundraising. My daughter is involved in several clubs and she states that they are easy to work with and they provide 50% of the proceeds to the fundraiser!!! I did dock a star because the healthier crust options - gluten free (doesn't taste all the way cooked), Keto (like cardboard), cauliflower (better than the Keto but definitely dry and bland) leave much to be desired. I do like the variety of toppings! You do have to keep an close eye out if you want to put finishing toppings on top when your pizza is done cooking because they are quick to cut and box the pizzas. read more

It's a huge concern to everyone's health and safety that they serve items like this PROUDLY. They have no option to speak to someone about these issues and direct you to their website. This company and managers lack any quality control as everything I ordered was inedible. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat here unless you want to be disappointed and probably get sick. This place should be shut down by the health department and managers fired for allowing food to pass go that dogs wouldn't even eat. 0 stars if I could. Will be reporting to BBB. Okay so I've visited twice now for dine in and take out. It's a winner for sure but idk if it beats out its competitor down the street (name rhymes with "Object Fly.") What works: - one price as many toppings in a BYO is always welcome - some different ingredients than it's aforementioned competitor like roasted garlic cloves not just chopped , Olivini mozzarella not just shredded, a garlicky pesto sauce , and a spicy red sauce -finishing sauces like chipotle and balsamic drizzle - fast friendly service - spacious What needs work: - keeping ingredients in stock line the Olivini mozzarella which runs out - even distribution of ingredients onto pizza by staff - this whole "high rise" dough which is supposed to be a "thick crust." All they did was layer two thin crusts on top of each other which end up separating. FAKE thick crust-boo! -the crust is a little softer than I would prefer but sometimes at the competitor it's too crisp...am I manic? Honestly if I hedge on 4*. My four stars is partially based on potential. I want local to succeed. Otay Ranch mall has had too many closures and that "food court" is a joke. Welcome Blaze Pizza to Chula Vista! I hope there are more locations to come! I had them make me one of those $8.95 unlimited toppings pizza on a regular crust. For my toppings I went with pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, green peppers, mozzarella, ricotta, and a dusting of dried oregano flakes. The pizza was quite good, but they need to pay a little more attention to the baking process in that very hood wood oven given a side of my pizza was a little on the burnt side. However, most of it was no, and what was not was great. The crust was of the thinner variety and tasted quite good. It had a good crunch too. The pepperoni and salami were both very tasty, the mushrooms were tender, and the green peppers were a mix bag given their unevenness. However, I do expect them to slice the green peppers in a more uniform fashion for a better visual appeal and for more even cooking. Also, distribute them evenly on the pie too.
