I went through the drive-thru line and ordered a simple you-pick-two with chicken on the side for a salad. Not only did the drive-thru take a long time, but they forgot to put my chicken on the side. On top of that, I had ordered chips as my side but they gave me a baguette. At the window, I asked for the chips I ordered. The lady tried to charge me for them despite it being my original order. The manager then came to the window, demanded I give back the baguette that I had already touched as I checked my order initially when they handed it to me. For an establishment to mess up my order not once, but twice, I had hope for them to correct their mistake by giving me the correct side order without charging me extra for it. Leilani, the manager, was harsh and rude, and had no desire to correct a mistake they had made. I felt disrespected and awkward as a customer just trying to get the item I had originally asked for without having to pay an "extra fee" when it already comes with the meal I paid in full for. Panera Bread (to-go, dinner) was a disappointment today. I placed a to-go order for four sandwiches and two soups (broccoli cheddar and tomato). Two of the sandwiches were the Toasted Frontega Chicken, and they looked nothing like the menu photo. More importantly, both soups were served cold, which is an immediate quality-control miss for a brand built on soups and sandwiches. Service raised a hygiene concern. After we used the self-checkout, wanted some pastries so we went to the cashier - chose what we wanted they handled cash and then grabbed our pastries using the same gloves. Gloves are only useful when they are changed at the right moments. I'm not a big Panera Bread fan but since this is the only place in Eastlake to get a bagel that is the only thing I buy. Used the drive thru at 6am right when they opened and no response so I went inside. Was the first customer and order a bagel with cream cheese. The cashier offered to add butter and I agreed. It took about 10 minutes to get my bagel and they didn't include the cream cheese. When I asked about it they stated they didn't charge me for it. Since I was in a rush and had cream cheese at home I declined. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Will just have to wait until Eisenstein bagels open up soon read more

I didn't receive a buzzer to alert me that the my order was ready and I just so happened to check it was ready but the soup was lukewarm but tasty. My complaint with all Panera Bread locations is the cleanliness of the indoor seating area. Tables dirty with past guests spills and crumbs. Carpet was also crumb filled , the area where you deposit your trays was dirty and needed attention. There needs to be constant attention given to eating areas as this is really off putting. I just joined the Panera Sip Club for 3 months free and wanted to try it out. As a first order, I ordered a large Iced coffee (free as a part of the Sip Club) and an Asiago Cheese bagel. I haven't had an Asiago cheese bagel in years and wanted to remember what it was like. Loved it! Very nostalgic for me. I am normally a Starbucks fan because of their "unlimited refills" while you are hanging out there but Panera has a similar refill policy and so I will try out the cafe and service on my next trip. It was late and they were closing at 9pm so I just ordered at the Drive-thru. I will get some pics next time. read more

Rude girls, horrible customer service! Because the drive through line was so long we placed a simple lunch order on the kiosk inside the Birch Road store in Chula Vista. I then got in line at the register to get a copy of the receipt because the kiosk would not provide that. A while later our name came on the screen indicating that the order was done. We went up to the window and did not see the order, so asked if it was ready or perhaps someone else had taken the order. When we gave them our name they said that it had not yet been made. We told them that on the screen it indicated that it was ready. Then we got a rude, curt response instead of an apology. At that point our name went to the very bottom of the list on the screen, below about 8 others whose orders were not ready. After another 10 minutes or so I noticed that people who ordered after we did (including people who were in line with me at the register well after we ordered at the kiosk) were getting their food before us. That was frustrating. When I asked about that, again there was no apology and simply a rude response that our order had not been started, and it had only been in the cue for 18 minutes. Others were at 12 minutes, 16 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. I think that 18 minute timer started when they kicked us to the end of the line. After about half an hour of waiting, we informed them again that our order seemed to have been ignored. They said it had not been started, and we asked if they could start it. Had we gone in the drive through we would probably have gotten our order at least 20 minutes sooner and not had rude girls telling us that our order wasn't ready, despite what it showed on the screen. As it was, by the time we got our food, it was cold (even the "fresh" bread). We were in the store for the better part of an hour, waiting for our simple order. This is completely unacceptable to me, especially since the employees were rude and unapologetic. They should have acknowledged their mistake, apologized and pushed our order to the front of the line so we would not have to keep waiting. Instead, we were punished for their mistake. I called in to let the manager know what happened. The manager was out, but the assistant manager Don was apologetic and listed a bunch of excuses about being super busy that day, but didn't offer anything to make up for their issues. He said he'd bring it up with the manager and talk to the girls, but never took my information. Do I want to go there again? No. But, if my family does we'll definitely go in the drive through so if we are ignored again at least we will hold up traffic and force them to make our food. read more

Came at Feb 15th at 5:33pm I ordered two soups with sides of bread. They serve the bread cold & hard so I politely asked if they can heat up the bread. And the manager (who's wearing all black) didn't look at me & gave an annoyed look She burnt the second bread so i asked the cashier if i could exchange the burnt side bread for another warmed bread but not burnt. She asked her manager & her manager said i would have to pay for another bread "But she burnt the bread?!" When I approached the manager she was soooooo rude!! She should be fired. She has black hair, wears all black. SHE SHOULD BE FIRED WITH HER ATTITUDE! Amazing customer service by Norma and her team! I had made a late online order last night for next day pick up (preferred time 7:15am) but the earliest was 8-8:15am on the site. I had no choice but to select this time for urgent breakfast meeting at 8:30am. I did submit a note that if I can get the order by 7:15am they would be life-savers, and greatly appreciated. I came to the Panera location and as I walked in around 7:15am I received a call from Norma that my order was ready. Couldn't thank her enough. We met another couple here on Thursday 9/12 briefly and ordered a breve latte. The manager at the time, and I'm a little embarrassed that I couldn't recall his name, but was very kind & helpful. He had asked if I had a phone # linked to my Panera Rewards account so he could apply my order to it, and I told him the last time I provided it, it didn't link my account (maybe the computer had an old phone #) but I had my Panera digital card in my Apple Wallet. He suggested I allow their point-of-sale NFC reader to recognize my Panera digital card. Surprise! It worked! He suggested I just use this method of finding my Panera Rewards account from this point forward. He also honored my "Free Drink" Yelp Check-In reward for checking in. Today, November 7 at approximately 5:30 pm, I feared for my safety. They humiliated me and attacked me with racist phrases. Their manager, Mrs. LOPEZ, called me a "fucking Latino" and took me out of her restaurant, telling me that she refused to gave me the service and called security to take me out of the place and told me that they were going to arrest me and deport me to my country, I only asked for support to use a gift card. I always spoke with respect and never yelled, they had never humiliated me in any way., his assistant ADY stood in the door to prevent me from entering to ask for the manager's name but luckily when he was humiliating me I read it on his badge. This Panera located in Eastlake at a fancy shopping center, it has a drive thru, and a drive thru pickup parking spot, a little different than the regular online order pickup. Basically you drove thru to order, then park in front of the store and they will bring it out to you instead of holding the line at the pickup windows like at a fast food restaurant. Anyway the place already gave me the upscale vibe, but as I got in, I can see the set up was much cleaner and newer, although the self service kiosk was acting weird, it kept kicking me out of my log in and told me time out, but I managed to order without going to the front counter, not that I don't want any human interaction, but no one was there, they must have been busy taking care of the people at drive thru, either way the experience was pretty lay back, a handful of customers sitting inside, minding their business, while if you didn't order any food like me, you can just get as much drinks as you could without bothering anyone, it was a bit of a drive away from where I live, but this location got to be the best Panera so far in San Diego county. read more

Panera is a little pricey for the amount of food you get, but it is pretty fresh and delicious. Daughter was craving a broccoli and cheddar soup bread bowl this morning, so that's what she was gonna get. We also got the egg, bacon, and cheese on a brioche bun. The son liked how the bacon was thick and plentiful. Also purchased was the egg white, spinach, avocado, tomato, white cheddar on a sprouted grain flat bagel, and two Peach and blueberry smoothies, and a brownie. Total for all set me back almost $50. Definitely, you pay for convenience, but at least it's healthier than other fat food places. I do take advantage of special offers and the birthday reward from their loyalty program. --Average-- I ordered through the drive-thru around 10am on 7/6/2020. I originally wanted the super fruit smoothie but the worker said they weren't making that particular smoothie at that time...? But every other smoothie was available. Weird. I ordered the peach and blueberry smoothie. Didn't wow me and it was expensive for a small size! Around $5! I don't think a SMALL smoothie should be priced like that at all. The flavor combination was different and it kind of tasted like a combo that isn't that good together. I also ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Since we were in a time crunch, we had to eat our food quickly. I ordered half of the Autumn Squash soup and half of the Southwest Chili Lime Ranch Chicken salad. My daughter ordered half of the creamy tomato soup and half of the classic grilled cheese sandwich. The squash soup was good, creamy and lightly sweet with pumpkin seeds sprinkled on top. Unfortunately, my salad had barely any lettuce. I had to dig through the overwhelming amount of tortilla chips to find the salad. I tasted my daughter's tomato soup and it was acidic and tart :(.
