Early dinner for four. We got two pizzas a calzone and chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread. The pizzas were really good crunchy crust, real mozzarella cheese I loved it! The calzone was just as good. The sandwich had guacamole on it and we weren't sure about it at first but it was also very tasty according to her. I recommend the calamari too. The marinara sauce was obvious made fresh . Avoid for Special Occasions - Terrible Communication & 1.5 Hour Delay I called ahead for my son's birthday dinner and was assured that while they don't take reservations, a party of 7 would only wait 10 to 15 minutes. So, after Thanksgiving week, my permanent date told me she was taking me out to dinner, and after a co-worker described the amazing salads at D'Lish, I had to check it out for myself. We dined on the Gorgonzola salad, meatball, scampi, and garlic mushroom appetizers, and they were simple but delicious. Our waitress was fantastic. A little bit of courtesy, and she served us like we were family. The restaurant itself is amazing for strip mall dining. They offer a nice Chef's Menu which includes a starter, main course and Tiramisu. They offer several seafood and NY Steak options among their unique pasta dishes. Wife ordered Lasagna which was covered with slices of cheese and a nice portion of sausage sprinkled inside. Large portions as we took leftovers on both as we wanted space to try their yummy looking Tiramisu. Glad we got it as it was the best Tiramisu I've had. I have not only been going to D'Lish on H street in Terra Nova since they originally opened but have also recommended them to a lot of people. Even supported them when they opened a location in Eastlake that didn't last long. Over the last few years it has been going significantly downhill. I hadn't eaten inside anymore because the ambience and restaurant looked run down and dirty but had still been ordering takeout. Recently I tired to order to go as I always do and they made it very difficult by not allowing me to order ahead of time while I was driving (which is what I usually do and the food is ready when I get there and pay onsite). I asked why and they would not say, I asked for the manager and got the assistant manager, Nery, who said he had no idea. I asked to speak to the Manager or owner to get more information and they said they couldn't make that happen. So strange. They said they would have the manager/owner call me back with details the next day. It's now been a few days out with no response. So given with the lack of response, only the pizza and salad being good from their large menu and run down restaurant it seems like they don't care about customers or their own restaurant. I was craving a kind of seafood angelhair pasta and was pleasantly surprised D'Lish is still around! I remember this place when they opened up back in the 90s! It was delicious food back then, and maintained up until now! Service was wonderful and the Chipotle Diablo with shrimp was divine. The entree was under the Homemade menu and loved that places exist that make their own pasta and bread. Speaking of bread, that sold it for me to want to come back here. While waiting for my order the server brought out fresh bread along with some marinara. Drooling thinking about that. So yummy!!! Will definitely be back with more folks to enjoy this dlish restaurant. Back to the Chipotle Diablo entree--it reminded me of this Persian owned Italian restaurant that served a spicy shrimp dish similar to this up in Hawthorne called Hanks.
