Fresh pasta, coffee, and Italian treats.

Assentis' has the best pasta I've had in my entire life! Their Italian grocery-like aisles are amazing and the service is wonderful!! I love Tony and he is always so helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant to encounter upon walking in. This fresh Italian food market deserves 10 stars.

High quality Italian specialty food products. I no longer live in the San Diego area but every time I come through town, most recently yesterday, I stop here for ingredients that I want to have in my kitchen. Their pancetta and guanciale are very good. Family-owned business. Thanks always Roberto.

Not only was I unsure if the business was open, due to the lights being so dim and the open sign not on. But upon walking into the store I am faced with Mussolini's fascist flag being proudly displayed on their wall. As an Italian American this is absolutely shocking and concerning.

We love this place!!! This is our go to place for homemade everything Italian. The quality of the food is absolutely amazing! They have recipe recommendations as well and they came out amazing. I would recommend the Italian sausage and fettuccine pasta. Wow! All of the staff was very helpful and friendly as well!

Friend is a huge fan of Assenti's so he recently took me here after the farmers market on Sat. He usually buys the fresh pasta here. And said Assenti's also supplies pastas to local restaurants. The store isn't too big and there was one staff working that day. There was a small line. Friend purchased fresh pasta, olives, frozen sauces, and some prosciutto. He asked the guy to slice me a sample of the prosciutto and wow - it was pretty darn delicious. Better than the parma version I usually purchase at Costco. I can't wait to try their pastas and sauces!

Squid ink pasta with Pomodoro Galioto sauce combined with garlic dusted shrimp cooked in a Sauvignon Blanc. Absolutely delicious!!!!

Best place in SD to get your fresh pasta for cooking! I personally like their Bucatini and Perciatelloni to make cacio e pepe.

Parking down here definitely isn't easy, but we luckily found a spot nearby. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet when we arrived, which I'm sure had a lot to do with the game. We were the only guests at first, but by the time we left there were several other tables dining. From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely phenomenal. Our server made us feel so welcomed. We ordered: * Focaccia Bread: I personally would have liked it a little crispier, but you could tell it was fresh, and it had really nice flavor. * Burrata & Strawberry Salad: light, refreshing, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I added a little balsamic vinaigrette for extra flavor, but overall it was fantastic. * Amatriciana (with added meatballs$: you can add meatballs for $7, and they also offer add-ons like shrimp or burrata for around $6-$8. The homemade pasta completely stole the show. The noodles were fresh, perfectly cooked, and honestly some of the best pasta I've had in San Diego. The meatballs were huge, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Two was the perfect amount. To top it all off, they surprised me with flan and a dessert wine for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the night even more special. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the hype. The restaurant is cute, clean, and welcoming. The service was outstanding, and the in-house pasta is incredible. Prices are a little on the higher side, but with the location and quality, it's completely worth it. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.

We've come…read morehere many times and always loved the food -- it's honestly amazing, and it's a place our special needs child truly enjoys. That's what makes this experience even more upsetting. Today completely changed how we feel about this place. As I walked in, a large, very dirty and smelly dog ran right past me and straight into the kitchen area. An employee allowed the dog to be back there and even let it lick a spoon. It was honestly shocking and completely unsanitary. To make matters worse, after I paid and was walking out, the same customer allowed the dog to stand directly on the counter where customers order. Even the owner of the dog mentioned that it needed a bath, which says a lot about how bad the smell was. The employee didn't say anything or try to stop it, which was very concerning. I understand people love their pets, but there are basic hygiene standards that should never be ignored, especially in a food establishment. This crossed a line. We've always come here for the quality of the food, but after what we saw today, we can't overlook it. It really makes you wonder what else might be happening behind the scenes. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back

Simple and authentic, the focaccia like bread used on their sandwiches is to die for and all the ingredients are freshly imported, which elevate the meal. I ordered the Campania and my partner ordered the Americano (sub asiago for provolone). We both looked at each other after our first bite - it was like we fell in love all over again, but with the hand-crafted sandwich. The ambience is pretty basic just as you would expect any other type of deli. There's limited seating, but great for ease and convenience to go. The staff were also awesome. Def a 10/10 on all fronts and we will be back again. Thank goodness they are local!

The space has housed a couple of short-lived entities after a longtime rice bowl eatery closed its doors a few years ago. The small plaza had limited parking with about a dozen spaces for the customers of the tenants. The business was not fully up to speed yet during my visit so this feedback is mainly for a sandwich. The grocery aspect was in full view as there were shelves with dried goods and displays of refrigerated products. I was told that pasta dishes and other food offerings will be added to the menu which only comprised of several sandwiches available from 10:30 to 3:30. The prices ranged from $15 to $19. I chose the Americano which consisted of asiago fresco, prosciutto, genoa salami, coppa, bell peppers, and lettuce on focaccia. The sandwich was sliced into two square halves and wrapped in foil. I liked the variety of deli meats included, however the size was small for $18. A spread of some sort would have also enhanced the flavors of the ingredients as the product was a bit dry. I will come back to try the pasta and whatever other hot dishes they may have. For now, I gave a three star rating for Gusto Deli & Bistro.

The Romaine was in large pieces so I definitely needed to cut it before eating. The dressing was very tasty and they are very generous with the cheese. I moved on to the papperdelle Primavera with shrimp and it was very, very good and a large portion. It came out nice and hot. The sauce could've been a little more flavorful, but it was good nonetheless the shrimp were a little on the small side. We decided not to have dessert. I found the price is very reasonable and there is street parking in the area and a large Target parking lot across the street.
